Infinity War Hulkamania running wild! The HULK thread

I have been worried on how small Hulk's part will be in IW, he's not had as much promotion as the other original Avengers sans Hawkeye and although I do think Banner is great I want to see more of the talking, thinking Hulk we had in Ragnorok.

I have to agree, more talking Hulk is a must.

Also, I feel like his power level has been somewhat undermined in his last 2 appearances, so I really want him to show an awesome strength feat and kick the ass of one of the black order.

That would be awesome! :hmr:

I almost feel like they've purposely been holding back just so we can get something like that. It really needs to happen. Don't get me wrong, MCU Hulk is by no means under-powered, but he still needs more "oh ****" strength feats.

I think he will become very important in these next 2 films as he’s one of the few who can survive a battering from Thanos and the Black Guard so will have to be on the front lines to absorb damage and protect those who can’t. Thor, Cap Marvel (in Avengera 4) and Vision if he’s still around will all be vital for this.

Definitely, the only one he really has was him one punching one of the Leviathans in Avengers.

Hopefully, even if he is the only hero who can rattle Thanks in a fight it would be enough. But him taking on and taking out Corvus or Back Dwarf would be pretty great as well.

Pulling off a “Secret Wars” moment would give me what I need to close up this chapter...

Actually, and unfortunately, MCU Hulk is very underpowered.

I can see why they don’t make Hulk too powerful because once you do, then you can’t really walk it back. He becomes a deus ex machina who just shows up to punch things.

He finally became a fleshed our character in Ragnarok and I hope they don’t revert from that.

I totally think they're keeping him under wraps. Feige and co. have even alluded several times to a HUGE crowd-pleasing Hulk moment that they originally wrote years ago but decided to hold it for the climax of Phase 3.

I'm excited to see all the characters, but particularly psyched to see how the Russos handle Hulk (and to a lesser extent, Thor). They have such a gift for grounding the effects-heavy action these movies require... I enjoyed Hulk in Ragnarok but I still don't think he's ever quite gotten better than he was in the first 'Avengers' (and honestly seemed effects-wise to take a step back in AoU).

They are not keeping anything under wraps!! They truthfully don't care about the character!! He's a throw in character that they use as comic relief or to get his but handed to him!!

None of them truly understand the comics nor the character.. Not even Ruffalo!! That's the real reason they got rid of Norton!! You have a bigger star in the role, you have to give him something more important to do.. Hence the line Fiege gave about Norton not being a team player!! He wanted someone to play a bit role in an ensemble cast, which is sad!!

We have yet to see a true interpretation of the madder he gets the stronger he gets! Instead we get him being knocked out by stark and defeated by Thor ! Like I said in the other thread..if they are going to continue to just misrepresent the character and use him as comic relief, just let him stay with universal and out of the MCU.

I would rather have movies like the unpopular Hulk 08 then to continue to watch him beaten soundly or doing things unimportant or throw away romances with Black Widow that makes zero sense!! At least Norton took the character seriously !! Ruffalo could care less as long as he gets a payday!

This movie looks to be more of the same!! Beaten by Thanos in the first 3 minutes of the film then fighting some cronies in the background while Stark fights Thanos!! Yeah that makes a lot of sense!! Smh.. Strongest one there is.. Yeah right!! Of course I will be there as long as he is on screen, which is why I wish they just leave him be.. That saves us Hulk fans from hoping against hope that he has a meaningful part only to continue to endure him being laughed at and a punch dummy for seemingly more popular characters.. Smh

Well that was extreme...

Hope we see some dope hulk moments here. I know there's one that I can't wait to see.

Just frustrated with the constant misrepresentation of the character. Thor , Cap and Iron Man are all treated with respect and have great roles in the films, yet Hulk is always used as comic relief with nothing really to do in any of the movies.. They totally undervalue the character or us as fans of the character. Even Black Panther who is new to the cinematic universe is treated better than Hulk. Look at his role in Civil War before his own solo film. He owned in all of his scenes, yet Hulk is relegated to background character or stooge! Doesn't take a genius to decipher how the powers that be feel about Hulk. Nothing incredible here, just cannon fodder.

The whole climax of The Avengers was basically "look how awesome Hulk is", so I don't what that guy is talking about.

That being said, I do want to see more heavy lifting from the Hulk in terms of strength feats.

I really hope we see Hulk against Black Dwarf.

That would make the most sense but hopefully it’s visually different from his right with Abomination.

I don't agree with Thor vs Hulk. To me cleary Hulk won. He beat regular Thor and equal with lighting Thor. Because if you said that Hulkbuster beat Hulk, why you said that Thor beat Hulk because we do not see that.

Hulk vs Hulkbuster. We sad plenty of punches to Hulk, laser beam and then building and then Hulk KO by one little punch. Why? Because he is calming down when see people.

So, it's not fair fight because no rules and thats why Hulk beat Thor. I don't se how Thor beat Hulk because we do not see KO. We see Hulk KO Thor and thats it.

Agree on how Hulk depowered in Avengers 2 and comic relief. And this is my fear that brothers Russo do not understand Hulk. I'm really mad if Hulk only fight with minions. And i'm sure if Hulk fight Black Dwarf that like Fenris, we see haw Hulk not cleary win this fight.

and I think you'll find that Thor has a really interesting arc in the film. He hasn't been at the forefront of other Avengers movies but he certainly has a very important role in this film. So I'll say, Thanos and Thor. Always some excuses about Hulk. Every ****ing director/writer.

If Cap and Iron Man battle Thanos, why not Hulk? But no, we see in first 3 minutes how powerful Thanos is by beating Hulk nad Thor. And ok but again i want ****ing see Hulk vs Thanos in Avengers 4

He has no solo movie with Ruffalo nad they destroying caracter.

Also this is from brother Russo
I think between Ragnarok and this film, I think Thor has a really compelling arc. I think he’s a pretty fascinating character and I think he’s going to jump to the forefront of people’s minds as a pivotal Marvel character after Ragnarok and this.

Again, no Hulk solo movie. Ruffalo sadi Hulk has story arc but honestly he is Beta male and i don't belive him. Thor is pivotal caracter and has story arc (Russos's words).

Sorry for my english.

You sound pretty desperate if you call KO'ing someone that's depowered and immobilized by an Obedience Disk a win. The Grandmaster had to cheat for Hulk to prevail and before that he was getting smacked around. It's like saying that it's a win for a UFC fighter if someone ran in and tazered his opponent during the fight.

I also think you're wrong on Hulk's arc. He's clearly developed a lot in Ragnarok, finally having gotten a real personality and the balance between him and Banner has changed. A very clear arc that we will see how it continues in Infinity War.

Yeah everybody knows that beta males lie about fictional characters all the time. It's a documented fact. It pisses me off that they didn't hire a gamma male to play Hulk, it would've been much more appropriate.

A Hulk solo movie would work if you have other foes in there that are close to Hulk's strength. Bring back the Leader, some other gamma enhanced beings, introduce Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk and have an Avenger or two play an intricate part in the plot and you have a Hulk movie that people will flock to see.

Issue with the last Hulk movie, despite the atrocious special effects, was that it was coming off the heels of 2003 Hulk, and the Marvel Studio brand wasn't the guaranteed crowd pleaser it is today. TIH doesn't even feel like an MCU film.

But thats my point. For Hulk always some excuses. He never won. He never won Fenris, Thor in first Avenger movie, in Ragnarok...

And ok but fact is that this is not rule fights (boxing, ufc) this is all dirty fight and by this Hulk to me won in Ragnarok. Also, Hulkbuster won in Avengers 2 but you all hypocritical because you do not talking about how Hulk cam down when he see people (Hulkbuster vs Hulk) but you talking about Obedience Disk and Grandmaster.

This is same. For you Hulkbuster won but Hulk no won vs Thor in Ragnarok. How so? It's same fight with cheat shots. Think about it. Before Hulk KO in Avengers 2, he has endured hundreds of blows by Hulkbuster, laser beam, building and then he KO by one little punch. No logic. Well, if you're analyzing then you see how Hulk calming down when see people.

And you never speak about that. I'm sure if anyone asks you who won Hulkbuster or Hulk that your answer is Hulkbuster but when talking about Thor vs Hulk, then for Thor (Thor is Hulk in this case from Hulkbuster Hulk) then you always mention Grandmaster and Obedience Disc (equivalent Hulk si calming down).

At least be consistent. So, to me Hulkbuster won. Yes, it's cheap KO because HBulk calming down. Also, Hulk won vs Thor, specially vs regular Thor then with help of Grandmaster he KO Thor. So, Hulk won.

Even if you do not acept this, you can not talk how Thor is cleary won. How that? Hulk standing and then Grandmaster...

Well, Hulk is fun to watch in Ragnarok (i love movie and Thor. Really something special). But honestly it's not great. To me Hulk in first Avenger is great. I want i see something like Hulk vs Leviathan. That one punch it's crazy.

And we do't see antyhing like this. Imagine that Thor get punch like this? I mean, Hulk punches Thor but it's cleary that power of this pucnhes it's not the same like punch versus Leviathan.

This. Hulk will have plenty of time to shine and as Feige said, Hulk's arc is from Ragnarok to A4 (a 3 movies arc). I loved Hulk in Ragnarok because he had a much more interesting and charismatic personality and personally i just wanted to see more of that version of Hulk and not just the brainless anger muscle. He is so much more compelling now.

The Hulk and Banner relationship started to really evolve and enrich itself in Ragnarok. Now in IW we are going to have everyone's reaction to a smarter Hulk and one able to talk and explain how he feels. It's going to be great witnessing his smarter interactions with everyone else. That's the logical step in his arc.

Then in A4 we're probably going to see a very smart Hulk where both Banner and Hulk are at relative peace with each other bringing the best of both worlds together. At least that's my idea of what's going to happen.
