Human Target

Well McCreary did not return as composer. I guess could there be an issue with royalties to him if they keep using his theme song in season 2?

I guess. It's a shame, 'cause I loved how they had enhanced it and give it a bit more "umph" for the season one finale, actually trying to make it more epic.

Here's my idea for the opening if they don't bring back McCreary's theme: Just have that Human Target logo flash thing as your opening. Cold open, Human Target flashing logo, boom that's it.

The new theme really is quite awful. But I hate cold opens. Too many shows do them nowadays. It's bad enough when it's a brand new show, even worse when they replace the opening credits of pre-existing shows with cold opens.

Burn Notice does it perfect, they have a little pre-open thing, quick title card, then show starts

best way to do it IMO....The Shield did something similar, 24 as well

Burn Notice has a huge opening where Micheal explains the entire premise. Then they have another title card opening.

It made sense for 24 'cause with every season, the primary cast would change, somethings drastically. And it cuts into the whole real-time concept. They already had to take a solid minute to recap every preceding episode.

I'd rather have a cool opening however, I just hate the new opening theme that much.

I'd simply prefer the logo flash after the prologue. So prologue, logo flash, cut to commercial.

I really miss season one's opening track. It was sooooo...Captain America. :csad:

I was all set to hum along with the original tune after last night's pre-title sequence and then I got...that.

I'm trying to figure out what was going on with that.

"So, you get an opening theme ready yet?"

"Yeah, check this out. It's epic."

From Deadline.com:

Fox's Human Target (1.8/5) had a quiet second season premiere last night in the Wednesday 8 PM slot it was upgraded to after Lie to Me was summoned to Mondays. It is unfair to compare the premiere to the show's series debut after a big football game last season (it was down 38% from that), but the season opener was down from what Hell's Kitchen has been doing in the hour this fall and down a tenth from its first season finale. Hell's Kitchen (2.6/7), now abbreviated to one hour, was flat with its two-hour edition last week.

:(

hope next week is better....

This show was just okay to me last season...didn't bother to watch the last few eps. This 2nd season opener was pretty good, though.

One thing I think also hurt the show was the lack of re-runs. Fox should have been re-running the old episodes. That way people who never got a chance to see the show could have probably caught it in the summer when nothing was on.

I'd do a gif of Lassie getting his fingers blown off, but I'm afraid I'd get infracted :p

I missed this show and the dynamic of the three leads.

Was not digging the new opening theme though, nor most of the rock-style accompaniment through the ep.

The change in creative seems to come in the form of more action-y type endeavors; probably in an attempt to appeal to a larger audience. Having the new benefactor bankroll things is likely going to play into that. More exotic locations, eye-catching tech and such. Can't say I didn't like the upgrade in digs (as did Winston :D).

Ilsa came off fine to me. Jury's still out on Ames. Both are shoehorned in via the mandate from creative, but I buy the former. Maybe Ames would come off better over a multi-ep arc before full immersion. Whatever. It's done now. Looking forward to seeing it all play out.

Lastly, were we really supposed to forget that the Old Man was shaping up to have a fairly meaty role in that glossed over wrap-up to the cliffhanger? All that drama over the Book and that's that? Out with the old and in with the new I suppose.

However, none of this new creative stuff better **** me out of more Baptiste. :argh:

oh man..... how did i forget about Baptiste? need him back ASAP...

Or those who were into the show could catch the ones they missed because some turd sandwich messed with the DVR.

Baptiste will be appearing again this season in an episode written by show creator, Jonathan Steinberg.

The quick wrap up was both really badass and really stupid. They built up all that stuff with "his old boss" for the entire season and end it on a cliffhanger and then resolve it 2 minutes into the episode? Rediculous. This episode needed more time to breath. I'm sure they could have worked in the new status quo without literally throwing out the old.

i didn't see it as them resolving it at all TBH.... just saw the quick solution getting them out of the CURRENT problem of Winston being held by them.....

They WILL be back.... as well as the chick Chance 'Failed' to save that sent him on the path of helping people....

Fox announced their mid-season line-up and I couldn't believe this:

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday, Jan. 5 and 12:

8:00-10:00 PM HUMAN TARGET (All-New, Two-Hour Episodes)

Wednesday, Jan. 19:

8:00-10:00 PM AMERICAN IDOL (Two-Hour Season Premiere, Part One)

Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 26:

8:00-9:00 PM AMERICAN IDOL

9:00-10:00 PM HUMAN TARGET (All-New Episodes)

I take this with a grain of salt. I hope this is the case though. Basically two weeks of two hour episodes during January and then it goes back to one hour with new episodes starting 1/26. Hope this means they are ordering more episodes. I hope one of those 2 hour sets is a Baptiste episode.

I'm not going to get my hopes up too high since the premiere ratings were kind of soft, but fingers crossed.

Why the hell are all shows I want to watch on Wednesdays at 9 PM?! So happy for lookback, because all three of the shows are not on demand.
