Hype TV Club does Game of Thrones in February!

So despite my complaining, I can say I finally got into the show halfway through S2. I still have a particular problem with most of the characters being so unlikable, only because I find it hard to follow a show with no one to root for...

STILL, S2 really picked up for me. The Blackwater episode in particular was a standout.

it's great reading all of your responses and reactions. Really getting me hyped up for the new season haha. I wish I could experience this all for the first time without being spoiled. Every damn death and big event was spoiled for me years ago but it really doesn't diminish their impact really.

man..... i don't even wanna watch anymore! :cmad: :csad:

Season 3 is where it really shines in terms of production value.

Of course it was, it was Episode 9, #2. Those Episode 9's like to make a splash! Also, that episode was written by the George R.R. Martin, so there's that. Glad to hear you're getting into it, JP. Enjoy the rest of S3!

Damn, Dani is boss. Just finished Ep 4.

It's whatever I want it to be :argh:

I still don't know why. But Robert was one of my favorite characters in the first season.

Speaking of I'd love a series based on Robert's rebellion

I loved Robert. He was a useless king but he knew it. And lbr, he was a saint compared to what came after.

Robert was a great character. He seems a lot colder and maybe a bit more brutal in the books. He's just so damn lovable on screen. It's like having a drunk Santa Claus for king.

I loved him even before I hated Joffrey, I think its just Mark Addy

Cause he's always kinda like that.

Robert was no good for being a king. Just cracking skulls, and by he time of the show he wasn't even good for that.

Yea, a lot of why Robery was so likable was Mark Addy's portrayal. That dude is just awesome.
