I Am Doom....discuss me [merged-2]

So you think that TOY MOGUL Avi Arad would allow the toy manufacturers to release pictures of that toy let alone design them like that in the first place if it weren't in the movie? Is that what you're saying?

Okay.

We have an emergency here. Listen to me carefully:

YOUR HOOF-SHOE THEORY IS UNSUPPORTED AND DOESN'T WORK (as non-applicable) HERE.

Don't worry. We will choose to forget it, if you just drop it. ;)

Forgive me if these have been mentioned I didn't read through the whole thread. I hope I bring up something that hasn't been brought up yet.

1. Doom will not have an accent.
2. Doom will be manipulative causing problems between the Fantastic Four.
3. Doom gets a cut on his face which somehow causes his body to change.
4. Doom's office is made out of a cobalt, cold material.
5. Doom will be all about making money and gaining power.

Not 'till we get a fair amount of votes on all sides whether they RESEMBLE UFF Doom's feet.

I for one havn't heard or seen enough proof besides the leaked footage from months ago. He sounded TO ME that he had a JFK accent.

That was pretty much test footage. Read this.

Question: You had mentioned that Tim asked you to do an accent at one time. What was that all about?

McMahon: He comes from a place called Latveria.

Question: So it's a nod to the comic?

McMahon: Yeah. And I can't tell you how many accents I went through. It was an absolute nightmare. It was like the end of shooting of different accents, and I said, "I can't do this accent." He said, "That's good because we can't understand you."

Question: So you don't sport an accent?

McMahon: No, I pretty much talk like myself. Every now and then, I try to make it a little more rounded as opposed to clipped vowels and get rid of my R's a little bit maybe, not make it quite so American. But it's pretty much the way that I speak. Every now and then I could find a moment where I could be a little bit more Europeany because the accent thing wasn't working.

I think it didn't work for a couple of reasons. I didn't have enough time to work on the accent. It was difficult to come in with a Germanic accent. All of a sudden, you're thinking about your accent and not your work, and I didn't want that. And also, I think Fox just wanted a standard accent kind of thing that everybody could understand easily.

O........ trouble.....found a barney fan. I spat on you. I'm just joking I wouldn't do that. I just like that word now.

Thanks. BTW< doesn't JFK have weak R's as well? Ye, or Ne?

Thank you Redisnotblue person....You are the one that is not yelling.

Barney is still purple.....and I'm not changing my mind.....

Well, I don't like barney.... and I think she's pink.... so ha!

You know what is funny is Saph started this so no one would argue on it and just bring facts to talk about... I'm arguing about barney... and you guys about shoes or something... HAHA! I laugh. Infact, more i think about it Barney does seem pinkish.

Well Herr, I have to give it to you: Who needs God when we have a poster as all-knowing as yourself? I officially dub you "uncanny", for unbeknownst to the rest of us, you have been gifted with powers to decipher the hearts and intentions of professional directors, studios and actors whom you've never met--and can even--get this--foretell what my personal reaction will be to the film after I see it! Simply Wow. Teh INCREDIBLE!

And yet, you have the audacity to refer to others as "presumptuous"?

But you do earn one brownie: It's true--I didn't scan that article with a fine-tooth comb looking for faults, loopholes and deception from Tim Story. I read it at face value because I don't go through life looking for the bad in everything...it makes me age prematurely. Besides, unlike you, I've not seen the final product, and therefore cannot fairly offer judgement...yet. But trust me: if it sucks, I'll raise the same kind of hell here that I brought back last summer when certain casting decisions were made. Why? Because I'm an FF fan first and then a moviegoer. But you should know that too, right? :rolleyes;

Now, you mention "empty optimism." But here's my question: Wouldn't pessimism based loosely on sketchy details in a yet-to-be finished film (based on a script that has gone through numerous revisions) be equally as empty? I mean, unless you're on location with Tim & Co., or have personal access to him, what do you know that the rest of us don't?

I don't know if I've explained this in a thread you've been to, but I rely on the power of negative thinking to soften the blows landed by life.
Basically, if I assume something will be bad, then I'm not going to be disappointed if that's the case. If I'm right, I get a crappy result, but at least I wasn't fooling myself about it. If I'm wrong, then I get a happy surprise, which is worth being wrong over. It's pretty much that simple.

I hope that clears up my position in all this. I'll be happier than anyone if I'm proven wrong about this movie or any other superhero movie. My ass is covered, either way.

Letting the fact that my prediction about Orange9mm was found to be accurate, here's another happy little prognostication I had that came true: I knew Orange was going to put you in your place. :)

Would you two just **** and get it over with?

I'm just tired of you two sucking each others *****.

Child, you ought to have your mouth washed out with soap.

The fact is, you just forfeited any and all arguments in this thread. You completely gave up on trying to make an intelligent point and threw a gutter-minded little temper tantrum.

I can't wait to see your paltry and transparent attempts to save face at this point. Really, I can't. :)

Hey, cut it out Saph!

No need to get personal. It's just a comic book my friend. But you're right, it is hard to generalize so much of Doom's character into one film.

Funny how you didn't bother telling li'l Frankie Richards that there's no need to get personal after the childish remarks he made. But hey, you're obviously entitled to pick and choose what's appropriate and what's not based on momentary whims and tribalistic loyalties instead of a consistent code of ethics.

Go ahead, give me a weak excuse. We both know you're going to. Unless, of course, you refrain from doing so to keep me from getting that satisfaction, which is equally probable. See? Being psychic really isn't that hard. ;)

I should mention, today looked at the Costume dept. Continuity 'bible' and it seem we won't see the Cape and Skirt dealier. Well not exactly anyways afters hes battle damaged his coat does kind of resemble the old costume.

Well, according to Threshold, he has the cape itself. I am thinking this second version of Doom we haven't seen yet, with the "tank-like" armor which is probably closer to the comic armor plus the cape, the hood, and now that awesome pic of the mask = comic Doom in appearance !

I highly doubt we'll be seeing the cape. If I have to eat my words, I'll be happy

thats a toy......
He has no Cape in the movie. Unless
Its at the end when hes packed in a crate and sent back to Latveria
but you wouldn't see much of it then

So? Toys can be faithful to the movie.. and why would they bother adding a cape if they didn't need to. It takes more work.

Saph, though I can't speak for theunknowngoat's credibility as a source I think others here would, so if they are certain there is no cape on movie Doom I'd take that info as being far more reliable than any image I saw of any toy (especially a mega-blok one..their toy Thing for instance has a face thats closer to the comics than the movie one)
