I don't read the current FF but have thumbed through a few issues from last year and they didn't have zippers then. So, if zippers were added recently it's an obvious attempt by Marvel to help substantiate the errors created by the production team.

John Byrne drew the costumes as skin-tight. A lot of people drew the FF costumes as skin-tight, too. Wetgorilla, the FF do not have one specific costume like Superman and Spider-Man. They have had many variations, in fact, issues #1 and #2 featured the FF without costumes. The Thing has even had a helmet for god sakes. Even the Ultimate costumes are just a variation of the suits that appeared in FF #3, by your definition, they're more faithful than John Byrne's suits, since the ultimate ones are quasi-loose fitted.

John Byrne drew the costumes quasi-loose fitted not 100% skin tight. I have a run of FF stretching from #4 to #300 and throughout the majority of issues their costumes have always been loose fitted. We've had this discussion before back in the How Do You Think This Movie Will Do thread (postings 199-234) and you still misquote me and pretend to be blind. I've even included a link to where you can find a history of their costumes and still you make hasty mistakes. The FF do not have black boots and gloves. They're suppose to be dark blue. Their costumes have never been padded and leathery (their costumes of all resembled cloth).

Also the FF wore a consistent costume style from #3 until #255. The variations shown in the costume gallery being worn at anytime within this run - were only one issue cameos and for purposes of the storyline. The FF have worn a recognizable costume not a myriad of variations based on a simple theme.

Wetgorilla, this argument is just making you look more and more stupid. You are probably the only one who would call the costumes unfaithful around here, and we have fans that have read the comics since the first issue came out. Surely they would know the classic representation of the costumes and how the movie costumes fit with it?

You base all your reasoning on what others here may or may not think rather than investigating the FF yourself. Your perspective on this matter is simply a thinly woven blanket of the consensus of others. I wouldn't have pointed this out (because I can care less anymore about helping you to understand) if you hadn't called me stupid. Even so, you're basing your hatred on a zipper. You'd rather the actors be sewn into their costumes ala Spider-Man? The zippers aren't even that noticeable.

What you call quasi-loose fitted is called wrinkles, which the movie costumes have. Reed's arms wrinkle in one of the teaser posters.

I've even included a link to where you can find a history of their costumes and still you make hasty mistakes. The FF do not have black boots and gloves. They're suppose to be dark blue.

And neither do the movie costumes. They are not 'leathery' they're textured. And the movie costumes aren't padded, the padding is to create muscle definition, it's not supposed to be a part of the costume.

So explain to me how the costumes in FF #3 which featured a black ring around the neck, black gloves and boots (and yes they were black) mutated into the less baggy suits, larger dark ring, gloves and boots of today. Whether you like it or not, the costumes did change; there were variations that lasted an issue or so, but the costumes have changed.

Anybody else notice a pattern with Marvel's biggest, baddest and most arrogant supervillians? A lot of them started out dirt poor and/or persecuted.

I agree. It would have been much better had they created the mask with eye holes slanted in a scornful manner. I guess the creators of this statue were trying to go for what a real person would look like in a rigid mask without any expressions let through. It wouldn't have passed a Latvarian QC at all!

BTW, I was watching Starship Troopers the other night and I noticed a scene where Johnny Rico was signing up for the infantry and the guy registering him had a metal arm replacing his natural arm which he obviously lost during war. It resembled Doom's classic arm so much that it proved how "believably awesome they could do Doom's armor. I hope most of you all saw that movie.....
