You can see hes's wearing the same clothes when Reed is talking to him in hospital or med bay that were in the leaked pics. Perhaps his tattered clothing is his environmental suit that has melted somewhat.
Not sure about the mask but could it perhaps be the faceplate on the helmet seared into his skin? The faceplate of the helmet looks to only be lower half mouth coverage though, perhaps some medical mask to keep germs away from his burnt skin?

I think he'll blame Reed for his condition and have a battle before leaving and then adopt a different look. Kinda like Doc Ock escaping the hospital in medical robes then having a different look for the rest of the movie

Yea, when he's strapped to the bed he's definitely wearing the suit we saw in the leaked pic, and I think he'll wind up changing after the escape, maybe into something more traditionally Doom

Yeah I think the rough look we saw in the leaked pics will be his first look. Remember this mock up of what Doom is supposed to look like in the movie? I think this will be his main look. Even though Doom doesn't need to constantly change suits except maybe once, I doubt they would go with the first look for the entire movie. I don't hate it as much as other people do but it's not really intimidating.

I'm thinking Domashev may be a cover he uses, and he may be hiding his real identity for some reason, possibly in hiding in a sense, perhaps some Latverian coup occurred? I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being revealed as Victor Von Doom.

So it looks a lot like they're adapting his Ultimate origin, which makes me wonder why they don't just use his Van Damme name from ultimate. But yea, he's working with Reed on the N-Zone transporter, just like in ultimate, and so that makes me wonder.... In the N-Zone, on the first trip when everything goes wrong and they get their powers, in the Ultimate comics he turns into a metallic exoskeletal being, so I'm curious if that'll be the case here as well. But yes, a lot of Ultimate Doom elements seem to be heavily at play here, based on what I see in the trailer

He's one of my favorite villains, it's a shame we'll never get to see him faithfully represented. Doom and Latveria have so much potential.

That was my question...why change the name? Kinda dumb.

Yea, I very much prefer 616 Doom over ultimate doom, as 616 F4 is a much better and more interesting story altogether than Ultimate F4, but I really hope they bring in Latveria. I could see this film kind of setting up his character and ending with him forming a coup to overthrow Latveria.

Yea, I don't like that. I mean I see why they didn't go with Von Doom but if they really wanna go Ultimate why not take that name? (Maybe Jean Claude had an issue with it :oldrazz:)

Yep. The back of his head when he's escaping doesn't look like the leaked design that he's also wearing on the hospital bed. My guess is that Doom upgrades.

I bet you anything the leaked pic of Riding hood Dark elf D00m was at the climax of the film.

They screwed up the F4 costumes, what evidence do you have that they're magically going to get Doom right?

You may be right. I have a feeling though that the reshoots are to try and insert some bombastic crowd pleasing CGI climax in an attempt to up the action quotient. We know they rewrote the script daily while shooting. Perhaps they are still rewriting it especially after the blogger Doom backlash.

I think what bugs me the most is the fact that Doom "gets powers". Some insider said that earlier on this site and also in the trailer there's some dude in a darkened hallway blowing out lights or something that I assume is Domashev. So I assume he's got electricity powers like McMahon did. Fox really seems to dig on that idea.

People believe what they want to believe. I don't particularly care to see Dooms final look because I know it will disappoint, just look at everything else in the movie.

Were they really rewriting the script daily? Is that confirmed?

Yeah Kinberg was supposed to have been onset each day writing.

X-Men: DOFP also had a lot of last minute rewrites and reshoots. It even had a couple of scenes that were completely changed the night before they were supposed to be shot such as the scene where Magneto's goes to retrieve his helmet. Rewriting stuff does not have to be a bad thing. ;)

And yet it more often than not is.
Sure, I mean-- X-Men: Days of Future Past also had a last minute rewrite thing where Wolverine kissed Storm for no reason. The thing with last minute rewrites is that you need a director who sees wether or not things work in the big picture of the movie. Even with all the changes we've seen, I am willing to give him the credit that he can do that. :cwink:

After one found footage movie that he co-wrote with someone else not involved in THIS project.

That...sure is something.

Unlikely.

And if this did happen, it'd be a twist for the sake of a twist. Plus, it doesn't change the crap we've seen already. Domashev or not.

Or he's just wearing the helmet everyone else wheres to the Negative Zone..... and it indeed looks like it is.

Odds are its melted to his head (like his suit is melted to his body), and he replaces the helmet with this film's version of the Doom mask.

That Wolverine/Storm scene was a joke scene, and was never meant to be in the movie.

Bad example.

Also, its one thing for the director to rewrite/alter dialogue on set when its not working, or deleting scenes in post when its not working. It's something else entirely to have the writer on set everyday (when writers are often NEVER on set)x and having him rewrite scenes everyday.

That's just not something a production, producer, director, etc. does if the script/film is in good shape.

Singer made up the Magneto helmet scene the day before it was shot in DOFP just cause he had a vision of the scene.

Again, thats different than having the writer on set everyday, rewriting scenes as theyre shot, everyday.

Plus, that's adding a scene. In this case, because its a cool moment and helps things flow a but better. It's not rewriting a scene.

Not really. Say Victor is in hiding from some force or other, and has to win back Latveria somehow. It's not a twist for the sake of a twist at that point, its an integral part of his character, hiding his true self, biding his time, and then revealing Victor Von Doom to the world.

That's probably not what they're doing, but...

Also, I didn't realize we'd actually seen much regarding Doom.
