I'm sorry to see that you're frightened and confused. The originator of the thread doesn't seem like an :stark fan so much as a stickler for comic book cliches.
You're sorely mistaken. On the contrary, if you took out the time to "thoroughly" read my entire thread (*instead of what you chose to read*), then you would discover that I am quite the fan of Iron Man. I am a huge booster of this film, enjoying it immensely. I am also a longtime Iron Man collector of the comics. However, I personally prefer the original notion of him concealing his identity. I feel that it is not so much, as you so simply put it, "cliche', but rather demonstrating a little extra security on Tony's part. I also feel that it adds a sense of mystery and mystique. Not to mention a greater sense of nobility to the character of Tony Stark/ Iron Man. I find that in any literature, fictitious or otherwise, that one's actions are much more noble when not bragging about them, but rather keeping them safegaurded in all humility. I also prefer that when people in the films look up and see Iron Man, they refer to him as "Iron Man" and not Tony. At that point they might as well entitle the movies, "The Invincible Tony Stark". Either way, this is my own opinion. You're certainly entitled to yours. In any event, the revelation of Tony Stark will certainly not deter me from seeing the next Iron Man installment. It's was an extremely entertaining film.
"A superhero movie that breaks from the formula?!! THAT FRIGHTENS AND CONFUSES ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
So why not bomb a charity gala that Stark is attending and get rid of him once and for all? Who would choose to fight him as IM instead?
For some reason, I think in the 2nd movie something will be done to make people not think he is IM
hahahaha!well.....Tony could always make a deal with the demon Mephisto, retconn the press conference, and make the world forget that he is IM......oh wait..........
Yeah, probably a good chance of that.I'm guessing if they go with the comics, Rhodes will don the suit and I'm sure there will be a scene or two where Iron Man(Rhodes) and Stark are seen together.
That's one easy and most likely possible way they can do this.
Gotta agree with the thread starter here, i didnt like that ending at all, in fact i found it sorely dissapointing. Stark has now put himself, his friends, his employees, and everyone who has ever come into contact with him, or ever will, in danger. Smart movie for a so-called genius, poor ending IMO.
not to mention himself when he goes to bed with a beautiful model, or when he's jogging around the block, or when he out to eat dinner.
i kinda would have prefered that also.
but i definitely see them picking up right there, and them somehow making it into a joke. that's the reason why the movie didn't go beyond the initial GASP.
I like the boldness of it, but I perfer patience, after all good things come to he who waits, and stands with decades of already proven work. Yeah I like that it stays true to the new comics, but I would've like to see a sequel or two inbetween the reveal.
Iron Man ain't no Peter Parker. He likes to live dangerously. He lives like any day could be his last. He is the man with everything and nothing. It is totally in his character!Gotta agree with the thread starter here, i didnt like that ending at all, in fact i found it sorely dissapointing. So Tony is always putting his loved ones and employees in danger? Sorry, but i just found it a stupid move.
