The Amazing Spider-Man I don't know what troubles me more...

There was no Hobgoblin in any of the three Spider-Man films.
If they used Hobgoblin, they will most likely need to include Norman in this series, that was the path I pointed at
Avoid all goblins, Raimi had the series too goblin centered

Well, they got Gwen as the main girl. So it's safe to say that GG will kill her eventually.

I really hope not. But it goes back to why I didn't want her in the first place; longtime readers will just be waiting for her to die and people who only know the movies & cartoosn will be going "Where's Mary Jane?"

Sony should have just pulled a "James Bond" on the series...plug another group of actors in the role and not worry about where it fit in the character's history

I don't know that I like that idea either, at least not this soon.

I do like the idea. It's how I think Batman should work after Nolan's had his turn. Just random it up.

Basically Hollywood is treating comic book movies the same way the comic labels treat the books. They reboot the **** out of them every few years or so with a new re-imagining alternate universe type thing. Sometimes it's for the better, sometimes it just fails. They just need to pick and choose their battles with the movie-verse though.

Well Sony needed to get the ball moving quick on Spider-man or lose the rights...and to be honest i glad Marvel doesnt have the rights or we'd be getting Spider-man in the Avengers(pure speculation)

I second that sentiment. Superheroes like Spider-Man function better in isolated universes.

if I were directing the movie I would make is 'slightly' darker than SM2 but not as dark TDK.

I think characters like; spidey, supes, the flash shouldn't be in dark movies, rather they should be in light movies that have dark moments.
I really enjoyed TDK but when it comes to spidey I want to see spidey have some FUN, his life should be rubbish but in costume it should be exhilarating.

SM2 is very VERY close to the tone I would have gone for...

...that said, if the villian is lizard and the director wanted to make a dark movie I would give him (the director) a pass because the lizards lends himself to a dark subject matter.

I did get annoyed whenever Fury would pop up in the "Ultimate" books, talk a big game and then not do anything when the **** hit the fan. This is what I imagine in an integrated Spider-Man movie.

Huh? If you mean his parents' killer, as in the Burton movie, I really doubt anyone wanted that plot device retained. I thought that was a bad idea the first time. And it's a bad example, since that was never integrated into the comics canon, as was Peter's romance with Mary Jane. It's also a bad example because there was a 16-year gap between the first Batman & Begins, and an 8-year gap between the LAST installment & Begins. Much more significant than the gap we're looking at here, where the original cast COULD actually come back but Sony's deciding to reboot instead. The Peter Parker/Mary Jane romance-the core of all 3 movies-is still fresh in moviegoers' (and comic fans') minds, so I think completely disregarding it in favor of a character who died 30 years ago is a bad move.

I am saying they will get over Mary Jane not being the love interest.

Using a bad reference and then phrasing it inaccurately will only bite you in the keister.

I'm of the opinion that 'keister' is greatly underused. King Wallace of WakaWaka to bring it back? Hopefully.

Funny. I tend to think "ass" is overused, so I try to vary it up a bit.

The only thing that even worries me at this point is having to sit through a 2 hour movie where the first hour is all origin stuff.

Same here. Everything else I'm on board with.

Won't it be bizzare if he gets bitten by the spider at the end of the movie

Not if Christopher Nolan was directing. It would be like Memento. Peter Parker has retrograde amnesia and must learn who killed Uncle Ben and why web shoots out of his arms:up:

The kids will love it
