The Amazing Spider-Man I don't know what troubles me more...

Nolan doesn't care about the kids. He is teh uncompromisable artisteeee!

Instead that guy who made that sappy romantic comedy is doing this. Watch he make it all light and fluffy and not insert enough dark gritty realism...just like Raimi:csad:

I dont know which I prefer... all three of em have very different styles as you mentioned. I dont mind the twilight effect at all

What's the Twilight Effect...and WTF is this thread about?

Huh? If you mean his parents' killer, as in the Burton movie, I really doubt anyone wanted that plot device retained. I thought that was a bad idea the first time. And it's a bad example, since that was never integrated into the comics canon, as was Peter's romance with Mary Jane. It's also a bad example because there was a 16-year gap between the first Batman & Begins, and an 8-year gap between the LAST installment & Begins. Much more significant than the gap we're looking at here, where the original cast COULD actually come back but Sony's deciding to reboot instead. The Peter Parker/Mary Jane romance-the core of all 3 movies-is still fresh in moviegoers' (and comic fans') minds, so I think completely disregarding it in favor of a character who died 30 years ago is a bad move.

The guaranteed killer box office revenue this movie will make disagrees with you. I don't think you give the GA much credit. As others have said, audiences will get over it and lets be honest here, nobody gives a crap about it anyway. I just dont understand why so many fans feel the need to worry on behalf of the GA. Do something more constructive with your energy.

This thread is about some people wishing the Spidey reboot follows Nolan's style and go all realistic and gritty, while some people want to go the Ultimate Spidey way and be all Twilighty.

I think

I for one want these new movies to capture the tone of what spidey's all about. Raimi actually did a borderline decent job but then he just had to saturate his movies with cheesy, asinine nonsense that fudged everything up. Some dark moments are needed for sure but it shouldn't be Nolan-gritty. Just pick up a freakin spidey comic or refer to some of the cartoons. Its not that hard to get spidey right. As long as these movies aren't turned into a festival of stupidity for the kiddies ala Raimi's efforts, we should be good.

Spidey's tales are complex. You can't say one way or the other is the right way. He's a red-and-blue superhero who cracks jokes, in one of the dirtiest cities with high crime, fighting costumed nuts who kill people, and he has beautiful girlfriends. Don't rule out dark or light, but find the balance within.

which is why I suggested looking at the comics because all of that you can find in the source material.

Ok you were right and are the king of everything and I shouldn't post because whatever I say you have already said it but better and I should log off so as not to post in your shadow.

I wasn't being serious, O mighty one.

I have lots of coffee.

Team Parker.

Nolan's Batman isn't realistic, what gave you that impression?

Batman in the Nolan verse is realistic because no one has powers. That is what it boils down to. There are no wild sci-fi elements, no crazy supernatural **** going on, but it may just be implied in certain areas. And according to the fanboys, that is just how they want it. The craziest it got was the actual Tumbler plowing through the streets, the hallucinogenic flowers, and maybe the water vaporizer.

The only unrealistic thing is maybe Two-face's face and thats it for me

Those films are more plausible in most areas. I wouldn't say realistic. Becoming Batman is realistic as it has always been, but somewhat plausible as well.

Oh, so it's about Spidey having no powers and turning into a vampire. :o

I'm beginning to really hope for the story of the death of Peter's parents
I hope for it to be nearly as good as Iron Man, so far I feel Webb to have more passion for the job than Raimi did

That would be interesting.

That alone is a major relief for me.

The cucumbers always taste better pickled.

The Lizard can murder them. Would be a good MO for Spider-Man to take revenge. That would make the story dark and gritty.

And also make JJJ has long lost uncle.

And also make JJJ has long lost uncle.

Only if the Lizard murders him too.

The main plot will involve Lizard trying to poison people with deodorant and throwing a parade. Then they can climax the movie on top of a gothic church building with Spider-Man telling Lizard "you made me." And then Spider-Man causes Lizard to fall to his death by wrapping a bolo around his legs.

:awesome:

????????????????????

There are the rumors about Peter's parents death in the reboot with a 6-9 years old playing the role, maybe they came due to Webb enjoying USM

Do people just think a damn stork brought Peter to Aunt May/Uncle Ben?
