The Amazing Spider-Man I don't know what troubles me more...

Eh, I always thought Social Services or a family friend brought Peter to May and Ben. It's not really a big deal anyways. Unless they make a ridiculous story out of it, like Kraven killing Peter's parents :yuck:

No, it was the Spider-god. He made Peter with his magical spider-powers out of hundreds of magical spiders. I thought everyone knew that.

He was woven from the spider thread of the Other Mother.

I always thought Peter crashed in Uncle Ben and Aunt May's backyard in a spaceship from the planet Spider.

I wouldn't make a big deal out of it, but I do think that it should be mentioned, someone birthed the boy and neither him or Aunt May/Uncle ever says a word about it. It just seems strange to me.

We don't need another super villain being the death of someone connected to Peter (a la Sandman) so I say yuck thrice on that, as well.

Yeah the only villain with the cause of death to peters parents that I want is a car or plane

I want Hagrid to shout it was a car crash.

Well, the irony is that a villain was involved in Peter's Parent's deat. The Red Skull.

And Peter's parents left him with May and Ben before they left on the trip (Working as Governemnt agents BTW). Who elde would they leave Peter with?

Ugh, please stop. The while government agents thing makes me want to smash something.

yeah thats great and all....for the comics...i think that is a horrible way to do movie spider-man...mainly because that ruins the ordinary guy becoming more after a spider bite into an ordinary kid with agent parents...reminds me of the horrible route Prison Break took...went from normal to completely out there...I hated that story anyway.

How does his parents being government agents change Peter from being an ordinary guy?

Anyway, it isn't omething that Peter learned about until years later. The point is that some of you gripe about the Raimi films and how they differ from the comics, but then you gripe about the films following the comics as well.

And yet, when Nolan craps out nonsense like Ra's Al Ghul being not only responsibile for Bruce Wayne becoming Batman, but ALSO being connected to the death of his parents, that's supposed to be okay.

The Parker's being secret agents whose deaths were orchestrated by 100 year old neo-nazi terrorist, The Red Skull doesn't change him being an ordinary guy?

I think not.

Besides, it's all moot, anyway. Pete's NOT an ordinary guy. I hate when people think that. Peter Parker is a genius. If the Spider didnt bite him, he may not have ever been a superhero, but i'm sure he still would've rose to some sort of prominence in the Marvel Universe.

I thought it was from Doc Ock and Aunt May getting it on:hehe:

And after Spider-Man has revenge on the Lizard, he will discover the death of his loved ones came truly by the hands of the Beetle, with his anti bug spray

Of course it doesn't. Peter's life growing up under May and Ben's roof was still the same, average existence. He wasn't involved in any government espionage and didn't know a thing about it. His parents' work and deaths at the Red Skull's hands had no impact on the guy Peter was when he entered that lab and was bitten by the radioactive spider. It didn't change the fact that he still had to struggle to earn a living or have a relationship. The parents didn't have a hidden stash of millions for him to lay claim to.

Exactly. This would have been my follow-up response. Again, when Peter does learn the truth regarding his parents, normalcy is no longer a factor in his life anyway, so there's no point in being concerned about it. The secret agent thing was merely an interesting approach to answering the question of his parents' death.

Well in my opinion I just find Parkers parents being spies stupid...and id be willing to bet money that they dont go that route...

welcome to fanboi thinking...Nolan can deviate from the source material as much as he wants and its called brilliant film making. Anyone else does it and they are called hacks

I am SOOOOOOO tempted to make this my sig.

The guaranteed killer box office revenue this movie will make disagrees with you. I don't think you give the GA much credit. As others have said, audiences will get over it and lets be honest here, nobody gives a crap about it anyway. I just dont understand why so many fans feel the need to worry on behalf of the GA. Do something more constructive with your energy.

I think this is where you lost me. Nothing is guaranteed. If I were to say it was a guaranteed flop you guys would call me crazy. It could do mediocre box office. It could do great. It could flop. You don't know. And besides which, as Spider-Man 3 has PROVEN, people can pour tons of money into a movie and STILL turn around and call it crap. I think the thing that troubles me most is the fans who are falling all over themselves praising Webb and screaming "All hail the mighty reboot" while bashing my skepticism.
