The Dark Knight I find it rather funny that I could see Bale in the roles of the Joker and Two Face..

I would staunchily support Bale playing Robin Hood or James Bond.

I could see him playing the Count of Monte Cristo (one of my favorite books)! Of course, that should really be a French movie (not that people seem to care where movies take place these days... the whole world is America), however, I'm sure Bale could learn French and speak it fluently.

As for the thread starter's thoughts, yes, I could see Bale as Two-Face. He'd pull off both the nice, public D.A., and the tormented, psychotic side very well. As for the Joker, I'm not so sure. I haven't seen a movie with him where there was some scene where he went completely nuts in a Joker-ish way (a scene that almost came close was the one where he called his lawyer in American Psycho). However, he seems to have enough talent to pull just about anything off well... Still, he doesn't really look like the Joker... so I think... no.

I agree that Bale has range as an actor, but I feel he is far too handsome looking to play someone like the Joker. I know that with prosthetics and make-up he might look different enough to resemble the role, but I'd have more faith in him playing Harrvey Dent/Two Face, had he not chosen to be Batman.

Watch 'American Psycho' to see how Bale can do the 'repressed-rage under a civil-facade', thing.
