I, Frankenstein

They could have at least given him less perfect hair or a pale complexion.

Poor Eckhardt. Aside from TDK, all the roles he gets are crap. He seriously needs a new agent.

I only cared for him in TDK to be honest. Not saying he's bad or anything but I never thought he'd take off as a leading man in good/interesting films.

I guess whoever is in charge didn't read the source material. It's like the Wolfman with no hair or the Mummy with no bandages. The Creature from the Black Lagoon without scales or gills. Vampires without fangs.

Whoever thought they needed to "sexify" Frankstein's monster is a complete idiot.

Yeah, he's not the leading man type; at least for genre films. He was good in 'Thank You for Smoking' but he his career didn't' take off in the way it should've. He ends up being a great supporting actor though.

Eh, I think he's got leading man qualities, but even if he doesn't, he should at least be getting better supporting roles.

This decade's answer to Van Helsing? Pass. :o

That Frankenstein is far too good looking, he is meant to be a monstor, not a playboy with a few scars. I like the concept of this film, and had high hopes, but the 2 delays and everything else seen so far doesnt fill me with hope.

I like Eckhart so hopefully that will cancel out the normal looking monster-ness.

I thought he was great in Thank You for Smoking!

...

Which was before TDK.

Other than those two roles, I agree that I have not seen him with a major role in a great movie.

By the way, I like how it does in some ways get back to those Victorian influences where the Monster was imagined to actually be quite beautiful. An Enlightenment era monstrosity who looks like a more beautiful version of his creator. Danny Boyle toyed with this recently on the London stage by having Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternating the roles every night. Likewise, calling him Adam taps into that.

However, it is all to probably sexify the character, this is true. But still, just an interesting observation.

He's actually [BLACKOUT]ugly as sin when he's reborn but his body slowly heals over the past few hundred years. He starts out looking like classic, pieced together Frankenstein's monster.[/BLACKOUT]

I'm more excited for the idea of Dean Koontz's Frankenstein being adapted at some point.

That is not Frankenstein but his creature :)
But maybe the creature is also called Frankenstein in this movie ...?

I personally can't wait for the hunky version of the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Adam Frankenstein. He took his "father's" name according to the synopsis I read.

Also another name for this should be Abercrombie & Frankenstein.
