The Dark Knight I guess joker just applies make-up after all

What do you think of the latest pic of heath ledger as mista J?

  • Yes its fine that he's a regualr guy that applies white make-up

  • No because his skin should be bleached like its always been

what do you think the story is? if only his face is bleached white and he uses makeup to even it out, that's lame in my opinion. then we have two villains- joker and two face, with facial issues. eh.
Yeah seriously, what is up with that. The gruesome look, discolored hair, facial scars, are all things that apply to Two-Face.....yet it's being done for Joker as well.

Nolan, you can't just wait one more film?

i hope we're wrong but it's not looking like we are. i'm surprised there hasn't been a greater uproar since the fox news video went up- pretty clear proof of villain in face paint

the tumbler made nooooooo sense. but i hte movie it worked. in the context the tumbler IMO worked.
i think a lot of fans that dont like the joker from the set video remember the tumbler and they will wait for the official footage and the TDK movie. if it looks the same in the movie hten you can expect threads like: nolan is the worst director of all time :woot:

^ maybe so :)

bytheway i think ledger looks great as the joker- all the musts are there. very creepy. BUT if it's achieved in the story by makeup and not a mystery, or an accident, people like me will be rightfully pissed.

Mr. Thau will add CGI white make-up on Ledger's neck in post-production. Please.

huh?

bytheway- your sig about "let's try to get some pics people" is one of the funniest single quotes ever.

Thank 'oo. The quote in context with Mr. Bond's quote was how I found it.

As for the Mr. Thau part, you're on your own.

Jett said that "It just is." in the movie. No explanation. Thank goodness. I don't care if it's makeup or not (it really doens't make or break the character), but i'd rather it just be unexplored.

Even if there's no explanation, if one sees white skin on the face, and flesh tone on the neck...you don't need someone to explain it. There's absolutely no reason to just put in a stupid change like that.

OMG TeH JOKer has a TAN And HE Sk8BORDS in TEh mooVEI!!!

NOLAN U SUCK AND THER MOVIE WILL 2!!!!!!11~*

:whatever:

Wow people need to relax on the Joker.

First of all, I think he looks fantastic.

Secondly, has anyone (besides those involved in the film) seen him in action yet? No, so again before we pass judgment, lets at least see him in action.

Finally: who cares if he applies make up or if it's from chemicals, like it's been previously stated, this will not be like the '89 Batman film. Remember how *****ed up that one was anyway? Joker really killed Batman's parents? I mean come on, relax people. This will be more faithful to the comics then Burtons Batman interpretation, so everyone needs to settle down.

And who ever complained about his shoes, needs a good kick in the balls. Complaining about shoes now? Seriously, get a life.

i get what you're saying about mr. thau but how do you KNOW ledger's going to get CG work?

so people need to relax because they dont like something? if you like something than everything is right with you. but if you dont like something then something is wrong with you.

you think he looks fantastic. glad you like it. we respect your opinion its just that.......we dont agree with it.

then you asked us if besides people who work for the movie have seen the joker in hte action. no we havent. thats why we comment on hte screencaos from the videos from the set. thats whwat we have talked about. we have talked about how he looks on hte set.

and of course the end. you told that you think hte joker looks fantastic than you said we should wait before we pass judgemetn. why is it that on internet forums when you are positive you are more right then if you are negative. from your post i have a feeling htat you think that because you like the look of the joker that you are right. but we who dont like the joker should whait until we see him in action. you dont because you like him.

its just how i see it. its my opinion that you are not fair.

but of course i am the bad guy right? hehe hehh :cwink:

i hope i didnt insulted you. or maybe someone will even writte that i am an idiot hehe :woot:

yup. no reason.

the on-set guys have seen him in action and said his neck was flesh colored. who cares if he applies makeup? wow. if the entirety of the joker look is just a scarred-smile and clown makeup, that's not the joker of the comics. plain and simple.

:whatever:

The new spy pics clearly show the white stops at his jawline and his hands are flesh colored. People have suggested he may wear gloves or it may just be that they won't show his neck in the shot.

So I took I closer look at the high res official pic. You know, the blurry one where he's glaring into the camera. Well guess what, his neck is flesh colored in that one too.

I wouldn't care that he applies make-up so much if they just covered up his neck! I don't even see joker I see heath with clown face paint.

This rests on whether or not Heath was in full makeup/costume. If he wasn't being filmed at the time, then he probably wasn't.

At the same time, I have always believed that his Joker would apply his own makeup. It was quite obvious even in the first official image, where his white facepaint was clearly smeared over his red lips. No one listened at the time! :cwink:

Who cares if Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered or if they stayed alive and raised him?
well if i rmember at the beginning jokers origin was a mistery. so basicly you didnt like the joker because of hes origin because there was no ogiring. with bruce it is IMO different. hes origin has everything to do with him.

and i also remember that nolan more hte once mentioned jokerst from the first comic. and there hes origin was a mistery. so maybe we wont get an origin. so we will not even know if it is make up or not.

bum bum bum
hmm

you know how some people say he "evens out" the look with white foundation

what if it's just his face that got bleached and he has to fill in the edges
as I said in the other joker set report, based on the evidence it seems likely that the front of his face and hair are permanently white and green, less so in the back, as if he got splashed with or dunked in whatever chemical from the front, so he uses white foundation to fill in the edges

in this pic IMO the skin doesnt look normal. so even if this is white paint hes skin texture still doesnt look normal. its still looks like something happened to hes skin.

this is very interesting ''dunked in whatever chemical from the front''

i have an image in my head where a nad guy is holding jokers head and he pushes hes head in the chemicals. it would explain why the neck is normal.
i would really like this

we know nothing. so we can not say how this works in hte movie. but we have every right to say that we dont like how he looks in those screencaps and how he looks in the official pics.

Who cares if Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered or if they stayed alive and raised him?

That argument is BEYOND STUPID. Batman's origin is essential to his character, Joker's isn't.

He's not referring to origins. Having Bruce's parents alive, would fundamentally change the character and motives of Bruce.

Same as how having Joker being a scarred up serial killer putting on clown make-up is a drastic change from the source material. Joker IS a clown, period. There is no dress-up involved.

There will be no explanation more than likely - my theory is the Joker's appearance could be part of that famous Nolan twist at the end of the film.
