What have people worked out from Joker's cop scene? Haven't been looking at this thread much. People on set thought he had odd make-up on his face didn't they? What's the point of that when the scars are still showing?

the scars arent still showing, he's wearing a fake beard/moustache in that scene, just not in the pics that were taken and posted.

The make up was really cool actually. Hard to describe but it was like the white was coming through the flesh toned make up. Kind of like he had to cover the white up. The scars were very visable. The crazy thing was we didn't know it was actually Heath in the scene with us til 3 or 4 takes later.

There was no mustache to be seen. I know because I ran into him on a couple of takes and in one I actually caught an elbow from him in the chest as he ran past me. plus I seen him over by the water/Gatorade buckets having a drink and a smoke inbetween shots.

Right, but a guy in flesh coloured face paint will look exactly that, a guy in flesh-coloured face paint. Lol at the disguise aspect. you really have no idea how ******ed this 2 layer make-up theory sounds do you? I will eat my signed BB 2 disc special edition DVD on webcam if it's true.

Although i am adamant that Nolan's Joker is just a caucasian heath Ledger who wears clown make-up, i am not ruling out that he may have bpermawhite skin by the end of the film, although even this is convulted. Not as convulted as make-up over make-up though, which is so unnecesary and benign anyway.

But if there is anything to take from The Prestige, it's that Nolan can pull off convoluted. So as lame as multiple layers of make-up sound, I still believe that we may be in for a little surprise. But I'm not resting my hopes on it.

When I compare Begins' script with The Prestige's, I cringe

Ledger's Joker's suit/vest/shirt/etc. are actually pretty fine attire. High quality. Not exactly the "dirty outfit" some were expecting.

Nah, compare Ledger's skinone with that of the hand next to him. He's white. And it it really couldn't be the lighting, since half his face is in shadow, and he still looks white.

And, I don't think it's so ridiculous to believe the Joker has white skin. Nolan is a master of deception. Look at the Prestige. Or, better yet, take Ra's al Ghul for an example.

Early on, people though Ra's was a bald, Asian, Fu-Manchu ripoff. Hardly comic-accurate. And then, guess what? He turns out to be Liam Neeson.

I just think there has to be more to the Joker.

Well, on account of all the people believing it's just makeup, having The Joker turn out to be permanently white would be a surprise...

It's kind of funny how fickle this site can be. Months ago, many thought it was just makeup. A couple weeks ago, that opinion seemed to go the other way--many were pointing out how much it looks like Ledger really is going to be permanently whitel. (Ex: The Ledger cop disguise) Now--we seem to be back to where we started as a whole here at the Hype. However, I am going with my gut here until I'm told otherwise by someone in production.

I'm sure there is more to say, but it is just one big argument. I mean if there is a possibility (which there is) that he is permawhite then cool, if not thats still cool also. I'm just hoping for that outstanding performance at this point.
