I haven't seen one negative piece of footage on this film?

Aside from the voice in tv spot #2 which has apparently been changed back to how it was in the trailer...everything looks awesome in this movie. Sure there are negative "RUMORS" about Galactus but NOBODY knows what he's gonna look like on screen so those are only rumors. So far everything has been positive. The trailers and tv spots are better than any X-Men film for sure, and I think the promotion is better than Spidey 3. Now hopefully the movie will follow suit. I see no reason be be negative...yet.

I disagree with your X-Men comment as it's fundamentally a matter of preference and opinion. I do think most of the stuff we've seen of this movie does look good though. The one thing that concerns me is Doom's look in that awful still of him.

Well, I'm certainly not feeling the new Dr. Doom look...so for me that's a definite negative piece of footage. The rubber Tub-O arms look like Play-Doh in a cape...not feeling it. :down That's why I didn't list it on my "20 Things Going Right" article. :csad:

But aside from that, I agree with you--everything looks awesome so far.

The lack of any footage including The Thing in action is disappointing, hopefully not an indication of his involvement in the entirety of the film.

I need to see more of Doom, and the outfit is not the clincher for me on Doom, its Julian's portrayal of Doom. So as far as that, that will be a "wait and see one"....coming from someone that usually does not like TV spots and Trailers, this movie has actually put some out that I've watched several times over......so thats a positive in my book.

^^ Sorry dude but the trailers and tv spots and stuff are in a different league than the Xmen. The Xmen are not in this conversation right now in terms of that first trailer with the chase scene and the overall coolness of the surfer.

Honestly the potential for this film is so huge.

The summer may indeed belong to the Surfer.

AD, man have you seen the coin promotion, that is off the chain. Whoah.

I'm not sure if the tv spots and trailers are necessarily better than X-Men, but I will say that both franchises have had some great marketing. They seem equal to me (both great), of course that is a matter of opinion like said earlier. Fox has an excellent promo division, and really know how to market their films.

I would like to see them show some more dramatic, character moments in the tv spots, but I understand that SS is a major focus for them, and the comedy aspects are natural in the comics. It would be cool to see some spots devoted to the other heroes, and their 'money shots', too.

Anyways, everything I've seen thus far looks great and epic. I think I'll enjoy this much more than Spidey 3 (which dissapointed me). :p

I'm not talking about anything that we haven't seen or a lack there of. I'm talking about what we have seen on film. Not still pictures.

Even though my faith in this film being good is low, I gotta say that everything I've seen from the tv spots to the teaser and trailer has been good. I'm certain that I've seen to much footage. I'm not watching anything else. Sadly the real negative that I've seen from the footage is Alba. She looks horriable with that make-up, wig, and contacts. Also her line delivery in that scene with the surfer was awful. She didn't look convincing at all.

Again it boils down to individual opinion and preference so don't apologise to me as your opinion simply isn't fact. I agree that the film looks great and has potential but I think statements along the lines of "footage from the trailers is better than X-Men" is a bit much imo.

I do wonder though, are Sue's fx finished or have they altered the look of her force fields from FF1?

Right now the only thing that I am not liking is the deep voice of the Silver Surfer. The one in the first full trailer was much better

I really don't like the runtime, it should be longer.

I have found nothing negative so far. Yea I could get picky. Sue's hair, her eyes, her lips, etc, etc. Little things. You can nit pick any move, but OVERALL, everything looks sharp. This movie is head and shoulders over the 1st one. It appears they have corrected things from the 1st film. They seem to be dotting all the i's, and crossing all the t's this time around. I have not seen many negative comments. All in all, this film is positive, it feels right, and looks right.

Ok, slick, now you're getting a little annoying... :p

I can't say whether or not the movie "should" be longer or not. I haven't seen it yet. Heck, it's not usually the case because if X3 and Spider-Man 3 have taught us anything, it's not always the time you have, but what you do with the time you use.

I feel the exact opposite way. The spots/trailers for X3 got me soooo pumped for that movie, but what I've seen of FF2 looks pretty "meh" to me. Aside from the Silver in the mountains, nothing has left me visually impressed and a lot of it still looks pretty slapstick to me. Take the power-switching thing. There's a concept I hate even in the comics. And I think Evans' rocky look is absolutely ridiculous.

That said, those are but my opinions and I know that spots/trailers can be very deceiving. The X3 promotion made me very optimistic and I was a bit let down when I saw the actual movie. So that leaves me thinking one of two things : the opposite could be true here (bad-looking spots, but a good actual film) OR the film will be even poorer than the spots/trailers.

I don't want this to come off as a "hating" post because I really want this movie to be good, but it just doesn't look promising to me right now.

The truth is, you never really know if a film is good or not until you watch it. My expectations for FF2 are hopeful, but unsure. Trailers and tv spots have one purpose - to get butts in the seats. So far, the footage looks great and seems to improve on the original film. The real test for FF2 will be if the script, acting, and direction are top notch (which I hope it will be)

Well said and very much agreed. I really really want this film to be great. Everything I've seen has been good, but the stuff I've read about the story, FOX is at the helm, and the info from AICN says the film will probably be a let down. I'm very much torn. I want to have faith, but FOX's track record is poor.

The ran the Xmen franchise into the ground. Talk about a film having a huge 100 million plus opening weekend and than drops over 70 percent the following. I didn't hate X3, infact I liked half of it. It was good but after the showdown at jean's house the story derailed. The poor representation of Phoenix and cyclops played a huge part. This is why I'm not trusting FOX.

No matter how many cool clips they show from FF2 FoX has proven they can cut good trailers, but they can't put together a good creative team? I really had hoped that after FOX dodged a bullet with the first one with the near universal terriable reviews that they would have brought in a better creative team, but nope the same people are there save for the writer, and after hearing some of the changes he's made, I'm not confident that he's crafted a good and faithful story.

True except the number 1 complaint I've heard against X3 is the running time.:oldrazz: Also, Fox has a pretty consistent track record of their sci-fi films with short running times sucking. Before the running time came out I had a shread of hope that this film would be okay. All of that hope has disappeared.

Yhen why the hell even come here except to troll ? Get loss. Go back to the sandbox.

Theres a little button you use Carpy, its called ignore. If you don't like the opinion, hit it.......but your comments do not help.

I also have not seen any negatives from the footage seen so far. I thought the scene between the Surfer and Sue was excellent, even touching.

Alba's lips have always been huge. How in *any* way someone can see that as a negative.... blows my heterosexual male mind.
