So I just finished off RE 5 and now that the after affects have started to shake off... I would have to say that its a great game a lot like RE4 in many ways... But I still think RE3 is the top RE game so far... Who else has finshed it? What did everyone else think of Wesker in it?

Oh check out the first pic of the Hottoys RE5 line...

NICE...:wow:

Yea theres a thread on this, actually i think theres 3 diff RE threads.

But you thought RE3 was the best RE title? Thats the one RE game that most agree to be on the bottom of the main series list.

I haven't played RE5 yet, other than the demo. But I still think that RE2 is the best RE game I've played. I guess its a good thing that some people enjoyed the third one, but that was my least favorite.

Yeah my favorite was RE2, RE1 is also up there.

While I enjoyed RE4 alot, the gameplay was fun, but I thought the storyline sucked. I miss the zombies from the first ones, I'm not a big fan of the "infected" in the last few games.

Well, I gave my analysis fairly detailed in the main RE5 thread, I end up giving the game around 7.5-8/10. Great game, but it felt very underwhelming and lacking, plus I had several other problems with it.

I will go ahead and answer your last question, though. Personally, I didn't like what they did with Wesker. Though his personality matched I think, his superman human abilities, teleportation (I don't know what he does when you fight him, but when you see it in the cutscenes that mofo is teleporting) and, most of all, this silliness of him wanting to become God of an infected world. Most others didn't seem to have a problem with it, but I didn't like it at all, I thought it felt very out of place. Even though I liked his Matrix-ish look I think it too looked out of place. Almost everything in Wesker in RE5 felt so out of context to me personally. Seems I'm in a minority, though

I agree with you. Wesker didn't fit IMO. I dunno, seemed like everything he was sneakily working towards was kind of for nothin. I'm still kinda fuzzy on bits of the RE5 plot though

This RE franchise is starting to feel more like a Metal Gear game and less like a survival horror.

I hadn't thought of it in those terms. MGS does mix in some of the strange and supernatural at times, but it's always been very good at that, I never felt like any of that stuff (like Psycho Mantis, Raven, Vamp) really felt out of place in the games. I guess in retrospect it really shouldn't, but it never felt out of context and felt more like it added to the game.

I guess part of the problem with me as well was that it was Wesker. Like I said, many others seem to disagree with me on this (good to see I have a few who do agree with me on here, though), but I just don't think this turn fits Wesker as a character. Granted, Wesker has always been a vague character who's never been fully flushed out, but I from all I've seen of him (Played all the main numbered game and a few spin-offs) I just don't think it's a correct direction for him. If it had been a brand new character or something I probably would have thought it was out of context as well, but I probably wouldn't think too much about it

i downloaded the demo, and i cant stand the fact that i cant move and shoot.

Yeah, don't open that can of worms. Like, seriously. No offense, but that's just a first class way to start an argument on here with the RE people. I was in the main RE5 thread and was talking about it and I had a nearly 3 page long argument on it.

maybe. its just really annoying. but the game looks so awesome in the trailers and stuff, and got a 9.5 on IGN so i might have to buy it.

You get used to it pretty quickly.

Yea, you get used to it in about 5 min.

I hope the series never allows for it, if for nothing else than to keep the casual ppl who are just now jumping in to the series out.

I have 100% completion and 1000/1000 gamerscore in RE5. I love it. REmake is still better though.

Why?

And it takes more then 5 mins, especially when you played how much better it could've been with it:oldrazz:

Because i don't want casual players coming into this series forcing the development team to water it down. Its already been watered down enough to cater to the Halo/Gears of War crowd. If the control scheme is really that much of a problem for ppl, dont play the game, because that control scheme isn't a problem to most of the series core fans, and we come first.

If my sister, whose first games consisted of Halo, Gears of War and Left 4 Dead can get used to the controls in 5-10 min, anyone can. When she told me she wanted to play through it with me i was unsure as this was her first RE game and i was afraid shed complain about the controls and the slower gameplay. She didnt.

Dude, thats awesome. I'm like 8 achievements from 1000 but got a good ways to go for 100% completion. RE5 will be the first game that i unlock all achievements for.

And yes, i agree, REmake is TOPS

Yeah, I don't see that at all. It has a more action oriented pace, but that began in RE4, well before Gears. I don't really think Halo is all that action-packed, but maybe

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. It's not that you can't adapt to the controls, but it's always nagging, to me at least, when a superior method is out that I know works better.

Well i use Halo for an example as its a quicker paced game, something RE need not become(as its already moving towards that)

No, i don't see any controls being superior, different yes but not superior. RE controls work for RE.

Well, I sure do. To each his own and all that. As far as your last statement, that would work better if RE was still really the RE of old, but it's hardly that anymore

It doesnt need to be the old style for that control system to still work.

I haven't played a RE game since the first one but I'm playing RE5 now and I have to say I think it's a great game, it's got a good pace to it and when those bastards start swarming you they play for keeps. Really enjoying it.
