I Present...The SHH RPG Wiki!

Well just read it, you lazy bum. That's what the Archives are for. :cmad:

Guys this is awesome. I can't wait to flesh out the Ra's and Iron Man pages.

Right now, I'm in the process of writing the history of Ultimate Gotham. It stretches from 1634 to today. I have about half of it edited into the page, and I have the rest of it mapped out to put in the page. I'm having fun with it, I actually get to use my love of American history in the RPGs!

Hurray for having nothing better to do!

For those of you keeping score at home, what A-Man did to the Gambit page was exactly how NOT to do it. I've since cleaned it up some.

A-Man said:
Season IV - played by Red X
Gambit and the X-Men take on Thanos

Oy, I only wrote 3 posts for Gambit and none of those involves the X-men or Thanos

Even though no one has told met yet what A-Man did with the Gambit page before it was edited...that is something that concerns me with this wiki thing.

Yea, we can all edit whatever we want...but when it comes to the characters? Or at least the season you played those characters? Shouldn't that be like respected to stay away from? What I mean is like, if SF were to make some entry for Martian Manhunter, and just because I didn't like something in it, or felt he could've made it shorter, etc etc...doesn't mean I should make the edit since it is his character or was for that season.

You know what I mean? Maybe if I learn what A-Man did I may feel slightly different, but the fact remains to bother me that it was edited against his will. I mean, when I was doing the Black Adam page I consulted Keyser if he liked what I did first, and I talked to others to check on my recap of Corp's stuff since Corp didn't play anymore and he wouldn't remember much of his work.

The page that A-Man made for Gambit was unreadable. Not simply too long, but unreadable. I actually recall Gambit's entire pre-game history in the comic books being placed there, if memory serves me correctly, when I saw it before Harl's edit.

With the case of my Ultimate Batman page, while I did place a substantial amount of history there, he doesn't have that much backstory, given that he's only an established character in the RPG itself. With Gambit, it's a wee bit different. He's a character who's existed in the X-Men universe for a number of years. That's like putting everything in Superman's history in the mainstream RPG article from Man Of Steel/Birthright, to Death/Return, to For Tommorow, before getting to Superman's actual RPG history.

A-Man added some unnecessary images and a whole load of text, also messing with the formatting. You can check it in the history.

As to your concerns: there needs to be some control. Otherwise people can just keep on writing, down to every last detail. The point of the wiki is to not have to read entire seasons worth of posts.

I certainly won't be editing out 'things I don't like'. I will, when it's not done by the 'author', condense some things. It's why it's handier to just condense it yourself.

EDIT: And as MB noted, the wiki should only concern RPG history. On that front, I am leaving the Ultimate pages alone, my focus being entirely on the mainstream RPs.

May I add on the Nightwing page, I never actually played him I only had an app up, before I dropped him.

That is something I do not understand. Some could argue that my Aquaman page is too long, and that is just Season V alone. But when you take so many NPCs and supporting characters to characters like that? That have so many? And each plays a role? If anything to cut their details out seems wrong to me. If I were a noob, I'd rather read a lengthy wiki article over the 150 posts that it was condensed from.

However, I was thinking of having a super short version, with a link to my original. I do not mind compromising, but I just feel the details I've tried to keep intact are important with the large condensing that already took place.

EDIT: Oh, and I know you already know this side of my argument, Harl. That was for the others to see, because I do not know what the general opinion on that is. :clown:

I don't know why the picture for the Parasite's page was changed, since it's now not showing what he looked like at any point that I was playing him.

I'm going to be very blunt here but... they're not. I get that those details are important to you, but for somebody just wanting to play Aquaman, they get in the way. They hinder more than they help. Maybe I could be a little more lax, say four paragraphs, but really, no more. It's just too much.

EDIT: Sorry Spike. I changed the image to one of 200x200 proportions. If you can supply that, that's dandy too.

Why does it have to be 200x200? That's only twice as big as an avatar here. It's not as if it would be hogging space. The real wikipedia has much larger limits to their pictures.

'Only twice as big'? 200x200 is not that small really, and an easy proportion. I personally do not prefer pictures bigger.

But hey, you know what, I'm going to make this very easy. I'd like everyone to just list what they think should be best for the wiki here, concerning image sizes and the sizes of the pages.

I'll just adhere to the people, because at this point, I just feel like saying '**** it' and focussing only on my characters.

No, because when it comes to a lot of Aquaman's characters...you should know they are not seen often. It isn't like Joker and Scarecrow with Batman, where they pop in so often, it doesn't matter if you know anything before hand. Whereas with his characters? If you have no idea what's been done with them, you are kinda screwed; especially after what I've done with them.

Same goes with all the other Aqua-characters I've used Harl. I think someone like Spike or JB would know what I mean, since I've seen them to really play with character's mythos in the past as well. Heck, Spike and I joked around a few times how people are screwed if they pick certain characters like his Parasite or my Aquaman because so much has been changed and done to their mythos that you have to know what has been done before.

EDIT: I mean, that would be like me picking up twy's Black Canary of her Rogue (since everyone knows how much she's done, this is the perfect example) and disregarding a buttload of "small" stuff. The small stuff counts. Continuity and fluidity in it is important.

Except, you know, I don't need to know Garth's biggest secret is that maybe he doesn't love his wife anymore.

But like I said, I'm obviously not going to win this one, so I'd just like all of you to voice your complaints, and we can work from there.

I find it quite needlessly small, especially since if you're interested enough in a character to read their wiki page, you should be entitled to get a good look at them if it's available. If you like small pics, that's cool, but it shouldn't be a rule that every character page has to have such small shots based on your preference.
