Turns out that Godzilla2000 was allowed to come back and retained her original account. She was banned for a bigoted rant in the Cate Jenner thread. Some of us pointed out the hypocrisy of letting her come back but not letting JJJ's Ulcer come back even tho he was only banned for receiving a tenth infraction when he said what everyone was thinking about Godzilla2000. The Eulogy thread was pretty much shut down immediately after this came to light.

I remember her Jenner rant, but was she banned before that? or did she come back recently after THAT banning?

So basically, the mods are just trying to hide their hypocrisy. lol

I have finished reading Watchmen for the first time. I love the movie, but the book is better. But goddamn, I adore the movie, it's totally underrated. But the book is utterly fantastic on its own right.

Been watching Sons of Anarchy for the first time lately (up to ep. 9 of Season 1). Very good show, underrated as well.

There were mods in the Jenner thread and they saw her rant so they did the right thing and banned her immediately for that. Her account even said "Banned User" and it stayed that way for a while. Then yesterday a member pointed out that she had logged in to her account recently and her account no longer says "Banned User" and it's active so at some point she got to come back and even keep her old account which is something that I've never seen happen. A full permaban closes the account and everyone I've ever seen forgiven and allowed back after a permaban had to have a whole new account. So why G2K still has her original account is a bit of a headscratcher.

I'm glad that receiving a permaban doesn't always mean it's for life, because we all screw up and some members have been permabanned when it probably wasn't necessary, but it does seem wrong to forgive G2K and not JJJ. Obviously I'm not a mod and I'm not privy to all the facts about what is going on with this situation so I'm not going to start calling out the mods or anything. It's just odd is all, and closing the Eulogy thread over it is even more odd.

I watched the director's cut last night. Hadn't seen it in a long time and I still enjoy it. I hated it when I first watched it in theaters. Mostly cause I didn't really know what to make of it. It was kind of bizarre. But watching it at home and in its full version was a much better experience and I quickly changed my mind about the movie.

Get to it mate. I watched the movie before reading the book as well, but reading the book is still a great experience.

I don't really count that one, because the Black Freighter cartoon is not connected to the characters and plot, and destroys the pace. It should have remained as a separate special feature.

I've had nothing but trouble out of it as well. All my video files are sped up. And some of them won't play at all even tho they are in a format that is supposed to be supported by the media player.

Well Black Freighter is intertwined in the GN as well, though thanks to the medium of comics it doesn't destroy the pace like it does in the UC.

The finale was fine. In fact it was great, and ended the only way that it should have. That's the general consensus too. Squeek was one of the few that didn't like it.
