What is everyone up to?
How would you compare it to GOTG?
What is everyone up to?
Well ONE film I hope gets an extended is Age of Ultron.
Speaking to fans at Nerd HQ (as reported by Collider) during Comic Con, Whedon said he was determined to never do a director's cut - despite the fact the original Ultron cut had an extra 30 minutes on it.
"It has always been my ambition never to do a director’s cut of anything", said Whedon, "and always to make the movie with the studio that we both want to make."
Production on Ultron was famously difficult, which Whedon continues to be frank about.
"Ultron was very complex. There was a lot of back-and-forth. My instinct is no. Just as an artist, I’m super *****ing lazy and that sounds like it would be hard", Whedon joked.
"I don’t think there’s interest in it, right now. You’ll see a bunch of stuff on the DVD in extras that were meant to be there. But the narrative came together very close to the way that I hoped it would, and I don’t think it needs me to constantly tweak it."
Whedon said that the film was one of the most "ridiculously personal things" he'd ever put on screen, and was pleased with the final cut regardless of the pain it took to get there.
"The fact that Marvel gave me that opportunity and supported it, I’m very happy and very proud of everybody that worked on it. I don’t feel the need to go in and fix. I feel like, there she is."

Is this a thread where we can introduce ourselves? It seems like it's general topics, but I wasn't aware if it was n00b-friendly.

Damn, dude, that harsh. That kind of contempt and hatred from a friend hurts like hell.
Ant-Man felt pretty vanilla. It's a cookie cutter origin story. I'm not going to lie. I did not care for the [blackout]Falcon[/blackout] cameo. As cool as it was to see him again, it was a little jarring and felt shoehorned like with all the Avenger stuff in Iron Man 2. The scene kind of makes him look like a chump...not that it's an insult being [blackout]whooped by Ant-Man.[/blackout] And yet again, we get a Marvel film with a one dimension villain. Like Lee Pace in Guardians of the Galaxy, Corey Stoll is wasted in this film. I would kill to see Edgar Wright's film because this film could have been the best in the MCU. There are even little tidbits in the film that were trademark Edgar Wright.
With that said, the film was a fun ride. I liked the added mythology with Pym's history with S.H.I.E.L.D. Michael Douglas was fantastic. And how about Paul Rudd? That dude has so much charisma. I am glad he finally got a shot at starring in a blockbuster. Evangeline Lilly is absolutely beautiful. Michael Pena was hilarious. The whole film was escapism at it's best. Phase 2 needed a lighter, smaller scale film to counteract the other larger scoped films in the series. After the bloated Age of Ultron, this film was necessary to balance things out. Ant-Man delivered that and gave us a new Avenger to root for.
3 out of 4 stars
I don't even understand what I just watched or why it's funny.
