i went through the same damn thing in high school (minus the poem) and i have that girl to thank for the man i am today. she taught me that (99% of) women don't dig that sappy crap. if you want to get a girl, be a dick. okay, let me rephrase, be non-chalant. just act like you don't give a rat's behind about her. be indifferent, but still be around her, you know? then every once in a blue moon, drop a hint that you like her, but about something stupid, like "hey, i dig your shoes."

never fails... well, it's like 80/20.

So you learned about 99% of women from a girl you dated in high school? Well they pretty much the epitome of maturity at that age.

Does acting like a dick work? Sometimes, probably more so when you are younger. But if you want to talk semantics, if she falls for you because you are a dick then she's not really falling in love with who you really are and basically you are lying to them. You said it better by saying acting indifferent, aloof and pretending not to care is sometimes a better option. You don't have to be someone your not, just have to know what you are doing.

this is ****ing EXACTLY what happened to me a couple of months back.......hot girls that you want to tell your feelings to but you don't want awkwardness to start if you get rejected. There was always a feeling she might have liked me but I was always too afraid to act.....I even had an old friend flirt with her all the time and they started to hit on each other after a while........there were even rumors she gave a bunch of upperclassmen head


and I responded the same way you did, in anger. Because for almost two years I was in love with this girl, always nice, always supportive and helped her with her problems she had at home...and I got **** in return and that *****e bag old friend got the girl

You totally miss the purpose of "being a dick". Any given girl has ten guys willing to lay down rose petals and woreship the ground they walk on. Actually to be honest, those guys are kind of creepy. One they give the person no freedom since that is a confining type of love and two it is nothing special...there are a bunch of guys who would do the same. The guy who is a "dick" though stands out.

I understand the purpose of being a dick. I've used in my time. Hey I've been called it on a few occasions. I understand that the guy that girl is not too sure about can be found more attractive. However, I'm more of the opinion you can't be something you're not. Some people who try and act like ***** come off just looking like asses. There's (I'd hate to say) an art to it but that also leads me to the whole thing what do you do after you get the girl? Continue on pretending?

okay, i'm 22, so, not exactly the 'voice of expirience' or anything, but, from what i've learned:

be a dick at first, like that scene in the 40 year old virgin, like david carusso in jade, or whatever, get her to dig you, that's the easy part, right? then, after you sleep with her, if you want to be with her, be a dick for a little bit longer, then "change" before her eyes into the guy you really are, and she'll think she's the one that changed you into a "good guy".

truthfully, you'll never get a good looking girl being the sniveling guy that kisses her boots. you have to be sneaky.

exactly! on any given night, there are 28 guys hitting on a hot girl, so, you be the guy who checks her out, walks by her, looks her in the eye from across the room, maybe smile at her every once in a while, but you dont' aproach her... 8 out of 10 times she'll come to you (if you're half way good looking)
