The Dark Knight Iconic Joker Imagery

here's something i just edited tonight
it's kinda rough
:)

It's perfect. If this were a perfect world, a younger slimmer mark hamill would be playing the Joker in this movie.

Are you kidding me? Yes, his voice is perfect, but he doesn't look anything like the Joker...

I wonder if there was any point in time in which Hamill could both look and sound like Joker.

What the hell? Yes he does!

I guess he looks as much as classic Joker as Heath does. He would've been excellent. Although, only if he hadn't done BTAS first. Otherwise, it's redundant.

Heath looks like classic Joker? Is this still planet earth I'm on?

I'm as trepidatious about Heath's casting for Joker as I would be if Tom Welling were cast. Where everyone is basing their praise for heath on at this point in time, I certainly cannot find it. But I guess fans overrating every single aspect of this movie is to be expected.

Amazing picture! I've got to save this one :D

Man, this thread is making me depressed. Every time I see the comic book Joker I just get sad that it's not what we're getting in TDK. Damnit, look at how much cooler he looks with that neatly applied lipstick!!!

I feel this way as well.

But Lord knows they do :whatever:

No one in a professional film will ever be cast because they look like the Joker, it's all in the acting ability.

This has got to be one of the funniest Joker moments ever.

Also, kinda brings up a few large inconsistancies with the KJ "history" for J.
Since his accident, he's developed a damned good wit. His dialogue is clever, AND funny, in a sick way mind you given the context, but he's funny.

Huge change from his "previous" life. Sure he could go crazy overnight, but would he really suddenly become funny? Perhaps it is just how it completely changed his point of view.

Also, why would the Red Hood guys have his wife killed? I know that was kinda a ret-coned thing, but it makes no sense. He would be so much LESS likely to go through with it. He wouldn't care what they did to him after what he lost.

Nah, I can't jump on the bandwagon now that's saying Joker's always been the boogey man.

He puts your guard down by acting like a clown, telling jokes, then shoots you point blank.

yeah, because when a guy dressed like a crazed clown approaches me the first thing i do is let my guard down. :whatever:

where are people getting this from? fooling people into a false sense of security based on his clownish looks has never been part of his m.o. ever. every citizen of gotham (and the dc universe) knows better than to mess with the joker and if you happened to be one of the few that didnt know better you would take one look at him and run (unless of course you were a young child, perhaps a boy scout, and he was handing out free cotton candy at the fair). and since when has he looked like a funny clown (barring the silly comics code/ seduction of the innocent era). he has always looked more creepy than disarming (kane/ finger joker looks downright psycho!). and he is often referred to as disfigured somehow. im not saying he needed a huge scar to show his disfigurement but he has never looked normal.

One of my all time favorite moments in Joker-lore was in an arc where there's a copycat killer in Gotham, copying the Joker's work. The Joker is sitting in his chair, watching a TV newscast about the copycat. Crime scene photos are all over the place, and he's ranting, screaming about how this copycat "isn't even funny". It really set it in for me as a kid, the Joker isn't called that because he makes jokes...

All of these images are great. I'll try to find that comic and scan it here tout sweet.

take it easy. I'm not trying to convince anyone to not view Joker as the scarecrow. I've just always known joker's smile sets him apart from the typical frowning thug. We as human beings are simply less afraid of smiling faces. It's not hard to believe that is it?

i agree

my only one bit of problem (which is ignorable anyway) about Hamill is that
he is a bit too short to be a Stormtrooper...AHEM... i mean JOKER :joker:
