ID help

can't you just use your college ID or something? You only have one piece of photo identification?

Many places will not accept anything that hasn't been government issued.

The reason for this is that many government issued id's have security measures that just cannot be added on by a home printer, like UV stuff.

I know where I live it costs at least $30 to replace a license.
The friend seem to have time and money for bars but not to wait and spend on getting a new one. Talk about being irresponsible. At 28 he still can't get his priorities straight. Instead, he used his friend just so he can go to a bar. Jeez, that's like... so friggin' important.

Why don't you just postpone the Bar until you get you're ID back? Prioritize man.

yeah, he's kinda gotten on my last nerve... ive been letting him crash at our place because he's had a rough life, his brother died a few years ago who was like a father to him since his father left when he was young, he grew up in a very blinded christian world (see the movie Saved! to get a gist of the people he grew up with), actually living at one of the churches, had an epiphany at the age of 25 at how blindly he was living, had sex with a girl for the first time, and realized how attractive he was (his mom would verbally abuse him pretty much every day), grabbed a guitar and headed out west to live with a family that had went to his church, met a girl fell in love with her, they dated for a while he got a lil tipsy one night and kissed a girl, he told her about it, she punched him in the face (she had been dating 3 other guys at the time, yet aparently she could cheat but he couldn't kinda deal), she kicked him out, he had no home to go to, stayed with a friend for a few days and he kicked him out, and now hes crashing with us for a little bit. He pays for rent and bills and stuff, but I had to help him rent a car and loads of crap that he shouldnt of asked me for. This ID thing drawled the line though, i told him he gets no more from me. I found out today as well, that he had borrowed and lost my other roomates ID as well. I told him he's 1 strike too many, and one more mess-up and he's gone. He's just one of those "used car salesman/lawyer type of talking people where no matter how right you are when explaining something they can flip it back on you and make you seem like an idiot and a bad guy. But i'm standing my ground this time.

he's also very much a people person, he's trying to get his life back in order so he's go go go 24/7, love meeting new people and getting into good conversations. he's working on a record deal and for whatever reason he feels the need to be at bars to meet people. He doesn't really understand the concept of slow down, due to the fact he wasted most of his life being naive within the church.

On a side note, we called up the bar, they didn't have my ID, so i had to re-apply for one today. He gave me the $22 for it (thats the price of a cali replacement) and ill get it in 7 to 14 days. Weds i plan on bringing my Ohio ID and my temp license out with me. I would think there wouldn't be a problem if i brought both. Legal papers and old license to show pic.

because for the last 4 years ive been in LA for college, my b-days have sucked, because no matter what i do, It ends up all being about "what my friends can afford" and essentially letting them plan on my b-day, which usually consists of just going out to dinner. I use to have alot of fun with my friends back in ohio, every year i'd throw a big party on my b-day, and the last 4 years have sucked majorly.. hell my 21st b-day was one of the lamest. So i'm kinda tired of that. So i planned my own this year and have a pretty good amount of people going that arn't easy to get together. My best friend and his boyfriend are even driving down from an hr away to see me.

If you have time, perhaps you could stop by the bar that you're going to for your birthday and explain the situation...it'd be helpful to find out beforehand whether they'll let you in or not.

Well only one of the bars im worried about is the one that uses that electronic box to swipe cards that says your age... But alot of my friends go there often and a few of them know people who work there so they say it shouldn't be a problem. So i've got my fingers crossed. If not then there's other bars. I just really like the Abbey, they've got amazing drinks... kinda expensive, but there very strong. Great berry and key lime martinis and pretty much one Adios Mother F---er gets me tipsy.
