IESB: Welling out of the running for JLA Superman

Just what a 30 year old Welling needs for longevity in Hollwyood. Another role as a teenager

From the head of WB/DC Media.

Tom Welling is NOT Superman and never will be.

That would be dumb. People have already made there minds and will probably stick with it till the end. The only fan reaction that matters is after everyone sees this movie.

I like Brandon's upcoming film choices; "The Informers", "Hot Men" (The Benny Goodman/Gene Krupa Story Biopic) and "Dead of Night"

Definately an improvement over "Life is Hot in Cracktown" and "Lie to Me"

Hopefully Superman II is next.

Notice all the choices are vastly different. He is making the effort and all the right moves to have a chance at a decent acting career.

i hope he does well, hes a great actor and should do something thats not superman

I've found I like his acting style. Feels kind of like a throwback to the days of Gregory Peck. He's understated where it is necessary and I like it. Whatever happens with him as Superman I will follow his career as I honestly just like his acting style. There is something natural and real that comes across when he is on screen that can't be taught. Sorry Welling.

It looks a little similar to Bale's career, hats off to Brandon for going with a variety of very different roles. I really want to see him in "The Informers" and "Dead of Night".

If I were an actor, Christian Bale's career is the one I would want mine to be similar to.

No need for a poll, "sounds excellent so far" would receive the most votes. :whatever:
The above choice are pretty good.

Marvel Rules! ^

Great second part of that interview, I for one am glad MOS is still on track.

It's also funny seeing how the Welling/SV camp is trying to justify him not being in JL. I've seen every excuse in the book. Bottom line is Welling will disappear after SV and Brandon Routh will continue with his career. It's already happening actually.........

Welling will never disappear in my book. I just will always wish I got to see him be Superman. But knowing the WB that will never happen.

Does anyone else feel like doing the happy dance?

No?

Go here again for the second part of Greg Noveck's interview:

That's fine, live in your own little fantasy world.

You'll get to see Welling as Superman in SV anyway, so be happy with that. If you're a fan of Superman, you should be happy you're getting yet another interpretation of one of your favorite characters.

Oh don't get me wrong I loved Superman Returns and I am looking forward to Superman: Man of Steel. I just wish at the same time I could atleast see what Welling would have done in a Superman movie. But thats the joy of being a fan of both projects. Because I can just say if I want forget the whole Jeff East thing and place SV there.

Hypocrisy and bias has come from both sides not just Smallville fans.

True, but it's my opinion that it's way worse on the SV side by being overly critical of SR, the unfounded criticism of BR, and the overall bias that nobody else could do justice to the role other than TW.

The problem is, SV fans are more TW fans than Superman fans.
