If someone close to you was murdered what would you do, who would you become?

What would you do? Who would you become?

  • I would seek justice. Punishment.

  • I would hire a top class lawyer and sue them.

  • I would remain neutral, depressed, but neutral.

  • I would be wrecked with depression and kill myself.

Just listen to what Rocky says to his son about the world. That should help you out.

Crime happens everywhere dude. But, look at all the types of settings- city, downtown, etc. are going to be looked as the places with the majority of crimes. Suburbia is known as being relatively tranquil in comparison. We are, however, I think one of the key locations for serial killers? So, 'hidden skeletons'- a reason for the "detective duo" part.

I have gotten over it, but come on dude- you're saying you wouldn't remember a fcked up event like this happening? Not only is it "fcked up", but it's fcking random as hell in the regards of life is stranger than fiction. Still not telling anyone in real life about it though- don't want to be connected to that moment in my life outside of the internet and in my memmory.

I wouldn't worry that much about it. When I was 15 years old, my sister and I were home alone, and a deranged man came beating on our door wanting to be let in to use the phone. My sister was in her room talking on the phone to my mother(she and my dad were divorced), and I was on the couch watching TV. I got up, picked up a pistol, and opened the door and put it in the guy's face telling him to back off the porch and go away.

He did it, and we never saw him again, but I had the full intention of pulling that trigger if he didn't back off and go away. I don't know what he really wanted, but we had heard too many stories of men approaching houses and killing everyone inside when they were let in. We lived in the country, and I wasn't taking any chances.

I don't tell everyone I know about that event, but it happened and when these things do happen, you react according to instincts within you. It's nothing to be ashamed of as it's the "fight or flight" within us all. You decided to fight.

In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't have to shoot that man. He might have been there for help. But in this day and age, where people wake up with their throats cut or shot(which happened in an area not too far away from us about a year ago) you can't take chances with the safety of your family.

Some of my friends have been put in danger before. For example, one of my friends was out walking at 5:00 a.m. when a guy grabbed on to her. Fortunately, she had a knife and was able to defuse the situation. Or, another time, another friend got into a fight with about fifty people (read "jumped"). The situations never seemed too close to life-threatening, though.

To be honest, I don't know what I'd do. I probably wouldn't get vigilante-style revenge for fear of all the reprecussions. More than likely, I'd fight it inside the legal system. However, if I'm there while it's taking place, all deals are off.

I don't know that any of those apply to how I would feel. But I would want swift justice in a court of law. Depending on the circumstances, possibly the death penalty.

beat him up, not kill. make him wish he was dead and make him bleed from every orifice it is possible to bleed from :)

what if the case ends up like the OJ simpson case? then what would you do? (except pretend this guy isnt rich and you cant sue him for much $$)

Punishment.

hmm. that first post came out creepier than i wanted. sorry. :(

I would find out who did it and open a couple cans of wup ass on them then torture them till they beg me to kill them, then torture them some more and then leave em in a secluded area to die a slow and painful death.

Then again, what if you couldn't "whup their ass with your cans", and they turned around and beat you, and man-raped you. They might decide to torture you then, and after all was said and done, go after other members of your family.

Then again, what if you were successful? What if you were caught and sent to a federal state pentitentary. Your life would irrevocably change, and you would always have a felony record. It's doubtful you would become successful with the obstacles in your path, due to your actions. This would have an adverse affect on your occupation and life both personally, professionally, and possibly academically. You would be limited to career options. Do you really think the person who died that you were close to would want that for you?

Unfortunately, this isn't a movie, and people don't always get away with things. I don't know many law-enforcement individuals who would be willing to turn a blind eye the way Aisha Taylor did in the movie. If they even got an idea that you were doing what Kevin Bacon did, they'd arrest you.

I think part of it depends on who it is. If it's like Kevin Bacon's character or Frank Castle a large aspect of their life is already over. One of the key important aspects in life is family. When that is taken away that is something beyond devastation and many would feel that they are already dead inside from going through such an ordeal. Thus, the consequences wouldn't be looked at because they would already feel that their life is over.

It is not until Bacon's family, his son and wife and possibly the life of the second born are killed that he becomes a Punisher-type character. The first kill he had intention of killing the guy, but it resulted in an accidental murder that shocked and horrified him. After that point it was a matter of survival. The scene in the house is the major turning point in his psyche, he doesn't feel that he has anything left to live for. Similar to Frank Castle.

I'm not a parent, but from what I've heard many parents feel like their life revolve around their children especially the first born. Thus, having the first born or family killed would possibly lead to this type of action because they would see the consequences as meaningless due to the psychological state they are in.

I don't imagine the loss of a child something that a parent could easily get over and move on from. Thus, imo, the action taken would possibly be to some extremity.
