...awesome PPV that year...No Way Out...not the Valentine's Day one...actually I don't remember that one that well...but the Foley/HHH match is one of my faves...
Oh yeah, almost everything churned during that era/period was awesome. I enjoyed the HiaC at No Way Out between the two immensely, but their Street Fight at the Rumble a month before still pip's it for me.

...usually not here that often and haven't been watching as usually as I had---tried catching up in 2008-09 for a bit......the product changed too much for me
It has for a lot of other people too, but there still a large consensus of us that have stuck by it. I'll admit, I didn't follow it as closely as I used to, but still kept an eye on things, and now I'm pretty much back into it as heavily as I was previously. It's not too bad though, considering. :yay:

What does everyone think of the Foley/HHH Hell in a Cell match? I thought it was very good, one of the best. A true brawl and both men came out looking good.

It was good, but it felt too much like a rehash of the Foley Vs. Undertaker HIAC. I agree with Van, I also prefer their Street Fight.

hmm I honestly cant remember their street fight .

The street fight is my favorite match of HHH.

I can only think of maybe a few HHH matches I liked that were one-on-one, non-Street Fight/Hell In a Cell type matches.

Been watching Austins new dvd. Rewatching Austin vs Michaels at WM14 I can see why Stone Cold doesn't care for it. Its not a bad match but about halfway through the pace is just dead. You could tell even bending down put Michaels in pain not to mention those insane back bumps. They tried to pick it up but it wasn't possible. I did notice that Michaels was forced to become slower and more methodical in wearing Austin down. That made the match seem more old school.

The ending is a bit of an anti climax. A couple of reversals of moves into the Stunner. The sequence was fine but they just couldn't build up to it well enough. Michaels didn't have much high impact stuff in him by the end.

Austin's right when he says it may have been better to leave HHH and Chyna at ringside. That would have given them more interference to work with and build more suspense.

Now I'm curious to what Austin said or what was behind the two fingers he gave Michaels after his victory since he says there was something behind that specific gesture. We all know Michaels was being difficult at the time because of frustrations, his injury, and his ego in general at the time but I'd love to know the details of what Austin was referring to.

I thought it was damn good. I liked that tried to give it a little bit of everything. There was brutality and your great Foley Cell bumps but there was some good wrestling too. Foleys strength was to always help bring out and show another side of his opponents.

If they were trying to top that then they didn't succeed but I think HHH vs Foley was also going for a bit more of a traditional kind of wrestling match whereas Mankind vs Taker was simply a violent human car wreck of awesome.

Christian was on form, gold comment about Mr. Excitement and Captain Charisma being in the same ring! I think Team Johnny will win, with Aksana screwing over Teddy and his team.

Who doesn't want to see Aksana screwing a bunch of guys?

Anyone else feel they should have held off the HIAC until WM16? I thought it could have been a better main event than what we got.

Bryan is taking his character to a whole new level. I freaking love it.

So do I. But I'm also having a bit of a problem with the Daniel Bryan/Sheamus story, in that there isn't one. It's just some generic "we will interfere in each other's matches" stuff thus far. I think you could argue that even Big Show VS Cody Rhodes has more of a hook and more story behind it right now. We've still got a couple of weeks to go, but it's getting a bit tight to invest much actual drama into the match.

In the place of build for Sheamus/Bryan, though, we've been getting some great development for Daniel Bryan. If the way he's being subtly abusive towards AJ, it's really adding nuance and extra layers of slime to his heel persona, and he's improving on the mic constantly. It's getting to the point where Daniel Bryan is becoming a better character and thus a better heel champion every week, while Sheamus isn't really doing much, and has very little in the way of forward momentum towards claiming the World Title at Wrestlemania. I think there's actually more story potential in letting Bryan retain past Mania.

But that's gravy, though. Even if Daniel Bryan loses, I think the fact that he got to go into Wrestlemania as champion is great in itself.

- WWE has reportedly re-signed Matt Bloom, currently working for New Japan Pro Wrestling as Giant Bernard. He has formerly wrestled for WWE as Prince Albert and A-Train.

Bloom is currently scheduled to return to WWE after WrestleMania 28 is over.

Bloom will reportedly be the new henchman for John Laurinaitis.

Yea Bloom already shot that down. He could be covering .racks but it seems like he hasn't resigned.

He tweeted that rumor as false.

After last night's Smackdown, my suggestion:

"The Wrestling Thread Deserves ONE MORE TITLE SHOT!"

If I was sitting down, I'd have fallen out of my chair when Christian said that. :awesome:

Christian is so awesome on the mic. I think he's really underrated and easily in the top 5 in the wwe right now. Maybe even top 3. I hope he has a future in the business after he retires. Maybe even commentating.

I'm just happy that Chrisitan finally reached the top, even if it was just for a little while. He needs a lengthy title run.

Okay, for the record, my statement to this effect was an expression of rage, not a thread title suggestion! Damn you thread manager!! Foiled me again!!

I thought Orton's segment with Kane was solid and gave a simple but reasonable explanation for the feud and the match at Mania. After watching Universal Solider tonight I am thinking Orton is basing his mic style off Ludgren in that film.

I thought this for a long time. They sound exactly alike , lol.

Speaking of Orton, I just watched his documentary the other day. It really focuses on him as a person while they gloss over his wrestling career. I assume they'll do a more comprehensive one down the line but it was interesting watching the backstage footage and learning more about his perspective. I might get "The John Cena Experience" if it goes on sale.

Also I think Triple H's best WM match was against Undertaker at WM 17 or the Triple threat from WM20. I enjoyed the build up for his bouts with Batista and Cena. Those matches were decent. I can't remember much from his match with Booker T.

nah man orton is more like :

All I remember about that WM19 match was being disappointed Booker didn't go over. I felt he really deserved it and the storyline really dictated he win. He didn't recover from that loss for a while.

i liked the wm19 match mainly because of the commentary
jerry was really pro hhh/flair while jr pro booker T classic heel/face commentating

I miss the Lawler / Ross announce team.

Given the nature of the feud I'd say it was a bad call. However I read that Booker T was supposedly full of himself and they had to hold him back because of it. Not sure what to believe but if you match that with Triple H's track record that year it looks bad. Unless it really was a matter of coincidence becuase none of his opponents were 'ready' according to management ....

Fast forward to Summerslam 2007 (that was definitely a burial)

We need another buried alive match. I know they are cheesy as anything, but I always get a kick out of them.
