If The Wrestling Thread Keeps Changing Titles, Thread Manager Gets A Brogue Kick

- The Daily Star has an interview up with Nigel McGuinness about almost making it to WWE. McGuinness said he can't even watch WWE now because it reminds him of how close he was to making it there.

"I can't watch WWE. It's just too painful. I am forever happy that Dragon and Punk got to that stage, to prove that those of us that paid our dues and did well on the Independents were as good as the hype. I'm not sure I'll ever come to terms with not getting to WWE, but the fact that Dragon did somehow makes it OK."

always wanted him in WWE he has a good look he is one of roh's bigger guys and good on mic and very charismatic

Rock pulled the largest Raw audience ever...

I seem to recall Mick Foley being that segment as well.

But it sure is apparent by seeing how the crowds are responding, and obviously packing arenas like never before, that they are enjoying Rock's return moreso.

Nostalgia response like Hogan had if you recall 2002...and the arenas are no fuller than they were in general except the Cleveland record.

Hawkins and Reks will probably be released.

I was expecting Ryder, Hawkins, Reks, among others who I expected to be released after WM last year. Surprisingly there were no major spring cleaning releases that I remember.

That's because the WWE had to have a draft early due to Edge's pre-mature retirement.

Metallo, everybody is a *****ebag or turns out that way to some degree at some point due to the nature of the business. Its easy for people to hate on The Rock because of his success, probably because they want to be like him. After all, jealousy is an ugly creature. The more important question is who is less of a doucbebag and right now, Cena is more *****ey than Rock.

I SERIOUSLY doubt Cena and Punk hate Rock for his success. Its funny how Rock fanboys make EVERY excuse for the guy. Do you REALLY think Punk gives a sh** about Hollywood? No this is about the business and how they feel Rock DOES business.

Clearly NOBODY can hate on the Rock because of how he conducts himself. :o

Funny how you ASSUME to know exactly how Cena and Punk feel. Ridiculous bias. When someone like Austin gives Punk the nod...the guy who was THE star of the Attitude Era (not the Rock) then I think Punk has nothing to be jealous about. Is there bigger validation than that? Austin was the top guy during the AE not the Rock.

I really don't care for these hater reports on Maivia. The Rock has put over more people than Stone Cold or Triple H would've bothered to. He paid his dues, moved on, and came back due to popular demand.
Missed the point again. That doesn't excuse him being a prima donna....if he is being one. Somebody like Hogan could wipe his a** with the Rocks accomplishments in wrestling when compared to his own but Hogan doesn't get a free pass for being a d*ck either. Nor should he.

Hogan is the biggest star the wrestling business ever had. Bigger than the Rock, headlined more big time main events than the Rock, drew more than the Rock, did more for the business than the Rock. But that doesn't mean he's above criticism.

All in due time, CM Punk will wind up doing the same exact thing he's *****ing about: becoming bigger than the title and taking the spot of whoever the WWE Champion is at the time.
You don't know that. now you are making ridiculous excuses for the Rock.

And again, wrestling fans are so fickle. They b*tch when So and So leaves the company, beg for him to come back, and when he does make a return, they b*tch about him being back. No wonder Vince can't stand the IWC.
Kinda like the fans who say Cena should get some balls and stop being such a pushover but when he does they don't like it when he's showing his attitude against their bias favored hero.

A lot of people complain about the Rock not because he came back but because the way he's handled it, his performance on and off the screen.

Vince panders to the IWC when it suits him "help me, Paul, help me!" :whatever: yeah the casual fans really caught that one. Or cared. Seems like working the IWC means more to him now than ever. Much like NELL you can't put such defined borders on it in 2012 anyway.

You're right, it's 2012 and not 1999 - wrestling just isn't nearly as popular as it used to be. People aren't watching like they used to, and they aren't going to regardless of whether or not Rock is there or not. Austin, nor HBK, nor Undertaker, nor Triple H, nor Bret Hart - NOBODY is going to draw bigger numbers, and nobody really has.

But it sure is apparent by seeing how the crowds are responding, and obviously packing arenas like never before, that they are enjoying Rock's return moreso.

Thw crowd enjoys the what chant too. its no different than Hogans nostalgia run and that nostalgia meant way more than the Rocks return because he was THE WWF champion of all times. At least Hogan was more of a draw in two different companies.

When other people can achieve higher ratings than Rocks segments then yeah sorry...maybe it ain't all its cracked up to be. The arenas ain't that packed. Did you go and count every head in all the crowds, Nell?

At least Austin can take most of the credit talent for leading the last return to mainstream popularity. Rock can't even claim that.

The Rock is now an actor, and perhaps he's been told by his people to keep his distance from the WWE lockeroom? He is afterall now a part of an industry that looks at pro wrestling with disdain.

For what purpose? As if talking with the people who are in the field and carrying the company that made him a star would taint him. If they thought that, then they would've advised him against returning to WWE and participating as he is now.

Maybe they did not advise him against returning, but the film industry doesn't want anything to do with pro wrestling, at least not among the higher ups. Even if Vince McMahon allows his wrestlers to be unionized, but only if they joined the Screen Actors Guild, the Screen Actors Guild would shut them out in a split second and SAG is one of the more powerful unions in Hollywood, which the Rock is a member of.

Besides, another scandal like the "Summer of Hell 2007" and the Rock will be gone from the WWE in an instant.

Man, I miss the WWE Universe fan forum. It was good for a few laughs such as "Are Santino and Santina two different people?" and "Which WWE Diva has the biggest rack?"

Speaking of which if I remember correctly they never did any form of follow up to the stage collapsing did they?

With all of the names this thread has, the name has been rechanged as many times as Melina's had sexual partners.

Having said that "The Wrestling Thread has had as many partners as Melina"

Sad part is, I would still bone her. Dat ass.

Nope.

It was such a bizarre segment. I think that one just got swept under the rug along with the Raw GM and GTV. Still...all that just to get out of Million Dollar Mania (which was a pretty lame idea to begin with)? Maybe they should have had ED McMahon host it instead of Vince McMahon.

Sad part is, I would still bone her. Dat ass.

Dat double jointedness.

Dat hepatitis.
:woot:

Seriously, though. None of us make it out of life alive. I'd rather say I had some fun and lived a little, rather than passing away STD free and not having lived.

Besides, that's why God invented condoms.

Granted you might need the Stark Industries mark V condom for protection but there's no way I'd pass up a chance with Melina.

Tony Stark. God. Potato, potato.

Aksana is growing on me. Dat Jiggle.

AmDrag you mother****er.

The Wrestling Thread Doesn't Wipe Off AJ's Kisses.

I love how D-Bry immediately jumps in the ring and celebrates while AJ just stands there.

next thread title
He stayed up at night crying as a little child because of what the wrestling thread was doing to him''
That is so damn wrong.

So of course, I approve.

Well, it's official. Rock is the heel, as Cole was supporting him, as Booker T was supporting Cena.
