Ex-WWE Diva Maryse and The Miz Announce Engagement
Posted by: Ben Kerin of WrestlingNewsSource.com on Feb 22 2013

Former WWE Diva Maryse announced last night on Twitter that she and her long-time boyfriend, WWE Star The Mi are now engaged

She tweeted:

“feb 21, 2013 is a date i will always remember, what beautiful day and night @mikethemiz im the happiest girl in the world!”

“Sooooooooooo happy!!!!!!! #engaged ❤❤❤❤❤

“love my baaabbyyyyyy @mikethemiz”

The biggest rematch of all time, sorry but what the hell are you smoking:huh:

I guess he thinks it's going be the biggest match of all time because it's a move star vs a former UFC champion. The media will be all over it.

Smackdown was a solid show, the through-line of the now probably defunct Del Rio/Swagger build was simple but effective with a Del Rio giving his best promo since turning face (Not great but passable) and then Swagger and Colter showing their views are not face or heel specific as they hate Barrett as well as Del Rio.

The two matches that spun from this were Orton vs Swagger and Del Rio vs Barret, both were good, especially the latter which I think would have been a good one for Barrett to go over in.

The rest of the show was solid matches with Sheamus vs Sandow, Kaityln/Layla vs Aksana/Tamina and Cody vs Miz which was ok but continued the terrible idea of Miz fighting hurt and winning with the figure four. They teased the start of a heel turn from Layla as she lusted after Kaitlyn;s belt, and Sandow got plenty of offense in against Sheamus, but they really need to book the Brogue-kick as a RKO or SCW out of the blue finisher as opposed to the way they are doing it right now.

Why?

We've seen Cena v. Punk for the WWE Championship like 30 times already.

It's time for Punk to move on to bigger and better things than Cena.

The thing is of the current roster who could Punk work that was bigger than Cena?

Great, so Jericho is gonna job to Ryback...

I think that match is off from the news yesterday, but putting guys over is pretty much what Jericho likes to do when he comes back.

I've noticed that too. He's never outright critical in his blogs but like you said you can tell what he thinks through what he doesn't say sometimes or what he chooses to compliment someone on and what he leaves out. He recently said he's sticking by Swagger but admitted he made a dumb mistake. Thats an understatment.

I think JR does it that way as he is still oldschool and not of the shoot generation, so in the open media he is either gonna praise someone or be diplomatic in his answer, when it's the latter just read what he doesn't say lol.

I'd love that. Del Rio vs Henry is a better match anyway. Marks so good in his monster role now Del Rio will actually look like a major underdog. Imagine the beatings from Mizzark that Ricardo can sell.

Both title matches kinda need to be triple threats right now to get any interest from me but they need it for different reasons. The WHC match has some good wrestlers potentialy attatched but little star power. The WWE title match has the star power but no really strong in ring hook to make me want to see a rehash.

The beauty of Del Rio vs Henry is that it only needs that one destruction of Ricardo by Henry and the heat for the match is there as Ricardo is actually over, and simple may be the best way to go at this late date.

Agreed, both are really crying out to be multi-man matches just to add some intrigue and action to them.

Wrestlemania used to be about magic moments where new heroes and villians rise to the top. Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and Batista were all given moments like that in the main event. Moments that elevated them to the position of top stars. Its time we started to see that again.

Amen!

Agreed. You can say a lot of things about Hall but he usually wasn't selfish when it came to doing a job. A shame most of his buddies never learned that. He and Kid really seemed to be the only two Kliqers who didn't politick too badly.

He was right. He was super over back then. His surveys used to get HUGE pops every week. Nothing was going to change that.

Hall has things all worked out as far as when and where the time to do a job was, and he didn't mind selling, he saw no point in squashing young talent.

In 1995 I think he was more over than either Nash or HBK, and as you say he carried that into WCW where he remained over with the survey gimmick.

Its nice to see Jericho trying to pay it forward now. He's one of the few. If Ziggler keeps going down the path he's on as a talented jobber its going to damage him in the eyes of the audience.

I still think if they'd had Ziggler cash in and win the title at EC and then defend it successfully at Mania against Jericho, it would have been the best thing for the title and Dolph going forward. In the build up they could have played off the fact Jericho had faced Triple H, HBK and Punk at previous Mania's so this was a huge first challenger for Dolph, then when he goes over in a great match he comes out of Mania looking like a main event star.

If there was ever one thing about Miz that I was jealous about...it's that he's been dating and is now engaged to Maryse, lol.

I gotta be honest...Punk's hair has changed so much it's hard to remember what his hair is now, lol. Maybe I'm just that slow, haha.

I think that match is off from the news yesterday, but putting guys over is pretty much what Jericho likes to do when he comes back.

1.) Valid point, but we've already had this match at a Money In The Bank, SummerSlam, and one other PPV if I recall correctly, plus probably a few Raw's, and Punk has emerged victorious everytime. Now, on Monday Night, Cena is unfortunately going to get the win, they'll both have had their wins over each other, the WWE Championship has already been involved. What more can be done to make this feud bigger than it already has been?

And let's be honest, the best part of this entire feud was CM Punk winning the title and walking out of Chicago, and the company, with the title.

The feud with Cena is nothing new, and I just kind of feel like Wrestlemania should be a bigger main event than something that we've already seen numerous times on lesser PPV's. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the simple face is that CM Punk should be the one facing The Rock at Wrestlemania, and if The Rock is gonna lose to anyone (and he's gotta drop the belt eventually) it needs to be to Punk. As you know, I'm not normally a fan of "the rub", but in this instance, a win over The Rock is not going to get John Cena over anymore than he already is, and will probably only make him more hated by men over the age of 11. He's already as over as he's going to be, so unless they are going to do a drastic shift in his character (which I would bet money against it happening), winning the belt from The Rock won't amount to anything. It won't "make" him, he's already made. It won't "endear" him to the crowd, the people who already hate him will only hate him even more because of it. It's not going to make those people come around. But in this case, I find an exception to the rule that I typically believe, in that all around, from an entertainment and from a business standpoint, The Rock v. CM Punk is the better way to go. CM Punk as a character has more to gain from beating The Rock, and the feud between the 2 guys is already better than The Rock v. Cena feud last year. And that's simply because CM Punk is a better character than John Cena.

2.) Yea, I get that, and I hate that, because Jericho should be holding a title, not jobbing to everyone in the company, but if he does have to job out and put someone over, it should be someone good, like Dolph Ziggler, not Ryback. Ziggler has earned the right to be put over, and it needs to happen. Ryback... he has an entertainment value about him, sure, but he shouldn't be getting wins over an all time great like that.

Biggest rematch of all time was Rock/Austin II at Wrestlemania 17.

I guess he thinks it's going be the biggest match of all time because it's a movie star vs a former UFC champion. The media will be all over it.

And just based on that description of it, Brock should destroy Rock in the match.

- We noted earlier that Cody Rhodes participated in a post-RAW segment with The Rock in Lafayette earlier this week after the show went off the air. Cody actually volunteered for the segment and pitched the idea of him going out and taking a People's Elbow and Rock Bottom.

- WWE sources note that Jack Swagger was scheduled to win the World Heavyweight Title from Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29. No word yet on what his arrest means for booking plans but WWE creative was working late on Wednesday night to come up with ideas, which doesn't sound good for Swagger and Zeb Colter.

There's talk that if WWE officials saw fit to change the direction of the match, then Dolph Ziggler would most likely get the WrestleMania match with Del Rio.

If Swagger ends up suspended and loses the WrestleMania match, the arrest altogether would cost him upwards of $250,000.

Rock V Punk will be a better match as Punk can carry Rock more as he is more athletic and conditioned.
Rock V Cena is too big men having a slow match, that's not entertaining ... plus like most have said what will it really do for Cena the guy has had everything his own way for far too long, he could do with an injury story to get him off tv for a few months.

I thought I read somewhere The Undertaker may interfere in next weeks Raw to cause the set up for Undertaker Vs Punk at Mania. Maybe it was just wishful fan thinking.

WWE® INVITES GLENN BECK TO GET RAW

STAMFORD, Conn., February 22, 2013 – WWE has extended an invitation to talk show host and political commentator, Glenn Beck to appear live this Monday on Raw, in response to a segment that aired on TheBlaze TV yesterday. In the segment, Beck references WWE as “stupid wrestling people,” when criticizing a recent WWE storyline involving WWE characters Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio®, Jack Swagger® and Zeb Colter®. WWE is giving Beck the opportunity to address our 14 million weekly viewers and our global fan base, as he believes we are offending our “conservative” fans with this storyline.

Similar to other television shows and feature films, WWE is in the entertainment business, creating fictional characters that serve as protagonists or antagonists. To create compelling and relevant content for our audience, it is important to incorporate current events into our storylines. WWE is creating a rivalry centered on a topical subject that has varying points of view. This storyline was developed to build the Mexican American character Del Rio into a hero given WWE’s large Latino base, which represents 20 percent of our audience.

Miz and Maryse are a perfect couple. They each know the exact same number of wrestling moves.

Wait, Swagger was actually gonna WIN the title???

Triple H and JBL have taught us that racist heels usually win.

Swagger is a doofus. He had a massive push handed to him on a silver platter and decides to get high. I hope the boys are laughing at him.
