Sequels If they used The Green Goblin in the sequels, he should look like this....

How do you feel about a Norman Osbron transforming ala Ultimate Green Goblin however no spikes on his head (ugh) and still uses the glider?

I like the idea of a transforming Norman. However, as you said I think he should still have the glider and should still throw pumpkin bombs (no throwing fireballs-- does Ultimate Gobby think he's in Super Mario Bros? lol).

They would never go the route of the Iron Patriot because the suit alone is basically Iron Man with a red, white, and blue motif. A move like that to an audience not familiar with that stage of Norman Osborn would instantly link that persona to Iron Man and possibly percieve it as Evil Iron Man. The Thunderbolts version of Green Goblin would be the better route to take as far as his appearance, like I stated earlier, they can use the Ultimate Goblin as a hallucination that Norman sees in his mind, especially given the fact that Goblins were a fear that he had when he was a child, so his costume is modelled after something that scared the hell out of him. Ultimate Goblin being Osborn's main appearance would make him almost similar to the Lizard, thus giving audience yet another "transformed" villain. I don't think people would want to see 2 films with both villains having similar origins.

Now I fully approve the theory stating Norman Osborn is Marvel's version of Batman

If they go a costume route Ramos-Thunderbolt costume is the way to go. It really is just a hybrid of the Raimi suit (green bodysuit) and the original suit (gloves, boots, vest hat ect).

I agree. Some variation of it.

That would be cool.

Agreed.

I was never in the camp of just traditional Green Goblin. It would have to be both hi-tech and traditional. That's the best way to go. The Thunderbolts Green Goblin is just too bad-ass for words. I'm re-reading that storyline now (thank you God for Mike Deodato) and the Goblin is superbly insane and magnificently scary.

That's what we need in film.

I agree, and the mask should be handled like the Mission:Impossible disguises, then have makeup applied for evil visuals like they did the Red-Skull.

I ALWAYS advocated and specifcally mentioned a Mission Impossible type mask, it would work brilliantly and people would not have to question it because they have seen it in Mission Impossible. All they would think is "Oh yeah ... I've seen... SWEET!" Disbelief goes out the window in 4 seconds flat.

There's a panel of the Goblin (Thunderbolts #120) saying "I am God!"

Not that's the insanity I'm talking about!

yep, that was always Osborn's way of thinking, that he was a god. Instances like that should be shown in film just to give more credibility to his insanity

Yeah i would definitely love to see that on film. Is the mask some kind of latex?

No picture came up.

For me I don't want an Ultimate Green Goblin look-alike. I would want an actual gruesome and menacing looking goblin-creature that has the glider and the works. It would make the surprise reveal that it is actually a man wearing a mask that much more surprising and awesome.

I actually really like this idea, after a Lizard movie(where he obvioulsy does transform) it would be very easy to make the audience/Parker accept that Norman has also been the result of a transformation and that everything he's done isn't entirley his fault(killing gwen perhaps?) only to be revealed he's just absolutley *****ing nuts and it has been a mask/costume all along.

Don't dig the above version of the Goblin at all. Looks like someone who would be following Arthur, clapping coconuts. Or a Resident Evil 4 baddie.

What if the guy who is the Proto-Goblin,transforms into a red skinned creature. Norman uses the serum, but DOESN'T transform, but instead makes a costume similar to what Proto-Goblin looked like, but obviously being Green, his favorite color?

Hey not bad, IMO.
