Sequels If they used The Green Goblin in the sequels, he should look like this....

I want to see something more....mechanical? Like the mask and whatnot shown on the last page, but I like this design. Maybe having the cloth be something else would be cooler, I can't think of anything atm though.

so this, pretty much

i like this just as much

I don't think the Alex Ross design needs to be tweaked at all. I don't see how tights wouldn't work when Spider-Man is in tights of his own...

It's the perfect design for the tone of this film. The other design is cool, but it looks exactly like the GG suit from the first movie except there's purple on it and his ears are bigger and it makes him look too robotic.

The thing about Ross' design is that it looks him look absolutely insane. He's scary and there's so much personality to the design as there would be actual facial expressions, as his entire face isn't made out of metal.

Eh... in the real world, the tights on the Alex Ross GG design would look something like this, tbh:

While that may look good in a drawing, you have got to admit... there needs to be something a little more if you're thinking about a costume for a live action movie.

There's nothing wrong with taking the best aspects of each of these designs, I'd just be happy to see something a little more in line with the comics. Green/Purple colour scheme and all.

Taking the best aspects from each of the designs? Do you know how weird it would look if they combined Ross' suit and the robot suit?

And that doesn't even bother me a bit that the tights would like that. Osborn is insane. It's not like he cares or acknowledges if he looks fashionably acceptable before he goes out and terrorizes New York.

Norman: "How do I look? Okay? These tights just aren't gelling for me."

Goblin: "Shut up and go kill people."

Norman: "Okay."

Nevermind. It's not like the insane villain who kills the hero's girlfriend would look a tad bit odd in hose or anything.

He looked a tad bit odd in SM1, but that didn't distract me.

Besides, he's supposed to look odd. He's a ****ing goblin lol

However, I wouldn't mind if they made his legs like his face with the weird skin and everything. I just don't know how they'd explain that metamorphosis on film while Norman maintains his human look.

At least he wasn't wearing hose. :P

Spidey: I see you took the tights thing a bit... literally, eh Gobby?

GG: ...

Seriously though, I do like that design. If they changed his legs and arms to look like his face it'd certainly be.. interesting. But would it be a costume or metamorphosis...?

I wonder if they'll go for an armored look. So many questions, and the first one's not even out yet. :S :funny:

A proper film translation of the Green Goblin should have him as a creature and not wearing a mask like the 2002 Spider-Man. Had they got the GG's look correct, Raimi's first Spider-Man would have been a distinct notch better, though it's still pretty good. Plus they had Willem Dafoe, who already has the perfect facial composition to easily create the Goblin from.

A mask simply won't work on film. The character's been down that road before. The mutation is the best way to go IMO, by using prosthetics/make-up. Keep the classic look, but add some body armor element. I love that J Carson desgn. Just take away the mask and have Osborn's mutated face and you would be set. You could also tweak the colors a bit if the purple gets to be too much.

Yeah I think a mutation would be kind of cool! But thts most likely not going happen because its following The Spectacular Show

A mutation might be a little hard to pull off aswell. I think they'd stray away from any kind of mutated villain after what the villain in the first movie was.

I wouldn't be against him having a mask either tbh. It just adds to how crazy he is. lol

But if they used mutation they would have to have a malfunction in the machine he uses. I woul have like a glass chamber. Theres a chair tht has needles with the enhancer formula after the formula is injected the gas triggers the transformation. Seriously....Bryan Cranston for Osborn!

^What if you gave that second picture a sort of torn, purplish hooded robe thing? I think it'd look cool. It'd be open so you could see all the techy shizzle, but shrouded in a tattered robe, he'd actually look like some mystical demon.. :funny:

Basically something like this (minus the Hulk-Goblin):

But with that suit. Best of both worlds, he'd look like an actual goblin, and it'd still only be a costume/mask as opposed to a physical metamorphosis. I think it'd work too, tbh...

yeah, i liked this look for Ultimate Goblin. without it, he just looks like the Hulk.

True, it shows his craziness to a degree, but it doesn't fully express it. A mutation just makes sense if you want the Goblin to be truly mind blowing and memorable, which he deserves to be. The only scenes I think you really saw Dafoe's craziness in the first film, was when he was Norman. You could see it his eyes and in the expresiveness of his face. Where he should have embodied that insanity the most was as the Goblin, but his face was covered up with a mask. Any mask, no matter how faithful it may be, just obstruts what you really want to see underneath. There is just so much more possibility for the character if he's mutated. I don't mean make him look like the Hulk, give him the classic look, or a variation there of. You just arrive at it differently. Enter prosthetics.

To be honest, I would be absolutely shocked if Webb didn't go the mutated route. It just seems like a no brainer, but we'll see.

I think once Harry dawns the technology of the Goblin that he should not die this time, he should instead become sort of partner of Spidey in fighting crime like Black Cat already is. The only Goblin I can really buy is if he is genetically mutated and not mechinical.

Harry won't become a Goblin in this series again. I'm gonna go ahead and guarantee that now.

^This.

And if he does, he sure as hell won't become an ally to Peter again. :funny:

Yeah, but Harry was a Goblin in the last series. Just because it happened in the Ultimate arc, doesn't mean it will happen in this film. Hell, just look at Gwen in this movie. Gwen is straight out of 616 in this film.
