Sequels If they used The Green Goblin in the sequels, he should look like this....

^^ That was the original suit they wanted for the first film, but the budget wouldn't allow it. Sam REALLY wanted it, tbh.

The suit he had in Ellis' T-Bolts would be perfect. Still very much classic Goblin, but a more high tech, armoured looked to it.

He NEEDS a mask that allows facial expressions of the actor to shine through. Like the Orcs from LOTR. Not a Power Ranger-eqsue mask.

See, I do really like the first Spider-Man, but I thought getting an actor like Dafoe, who has such a creepy face, then giving him a mask that covers that all up was kinda stupid.

Got a pic of this version?

It's like a more advanced armour plating, instead of the medievil esque scalemail. I guess adjustments could be made to the gloves and boots, like they did with Captain America too.

Sort of off topic, but that issue of Thunderbolts was fantastic. The crucifiction panel was breathtaking.

The Alex Ross design would have to be tweaked a lot to work, if you ask me.

Agreed. It looks a bit more like Hobgoblin (colored differently and sans cape) than Green Goblin to me.

Taking the best aspects from each of the designs? Do you know how weird it would look if they combined Ross' suit and the robot suit?

And that doesn't even bother me a bit that the tights would like that. Osborn is insane. It's not like he cares or acknowledges if he looks fashionably acceptable before he goes out and terrorizes New York.

Norman: "How do I look? Okay? These tights just aren't gelling for me."

Goblin: "Shut up and go kill people."

Norman: "Okay."

He should look menacing and threatening.

idk if it is like seriously hardcore Ultimate

Harry = Hobgoblin

No. I would prefer Roderick Kingsley = Hobgoblin.

The more I think about it, the more I'd just like to see this, straight up.

Looking at all of these other suggestions, I see nothing but unnecessary complication. To me, those designs betray the character. Keep it simple, snappy, and cartoony. No sense in trying to grit up a character who should act a little like a cartoon no matter what he's wearing. Medium be damned. Go Classic Goblin. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

No. Classic Green Goblin looks downright stupid. He looks more like an effeminate emerald elf than a terrifying villain.

Well anybody that thinks the classic Green Goblin would look a little flamboyant is going to be shocked if they want this...

I still think this:

Green_Goblin_2.jpg

With a tattered purple hooded robe would look very cool. It's techy, and would still have that mystical goblin look.

Why do we need to cover up the awesome design?

Because regardless of how that one drawing may look, that design is going to look like a more complicated version of the Goblin suit from Raimi's Spider-Man. The so called "Power Ranger" Green Goblin was essentially a simplified version of that. I'm not saying that he should literally be covered head to toe, with only glimpses of his suit showing.

Something like this:

Those designs were used in the Spider-Man: The Movie video game lol

In that drawing he does.

But in real life, that costume would literally just look like a guy in tights with a creepy mask. Which contrary to what many might believe, he should not look like in a movie.

That "high tech" pic is one that I've never liked and still don't understand why so many of you like it.

The face looks awful on that one. Same goes for the "hat" and the ears. And the body doesn't remind me ANYTHING at all of Green Goblin, except for the colours.

Green Goblin needs tattered clothes to work imo! Sure, he could be all high-tech underneath the clothes, but from the public's eyes, he should look almost medieval. In an evil and grim way of course.

I really like the Alex Ross look, i think after the transformation stuff with lizard and people suspecting it from ultimate spidey anyway it would be cool if we got a Goblin everybody thought was a monster but it just turned out to be a mental Norman Osborn in a mask.

If(hypothetically speaking) Norman is trying to recreate the Lizard experiment for whatever reason, he could still go mental and actually be pissed off that his physical appearance hasn't changed, in his quest for power he would hate that people still view him as a human

The Alex Ross design slightly changed up would work for this imo, the face would be prosthetic anyway, the audience would know this, i think it would just be kind of shocking when the Green Goblin takes off what we thought was just his face, to reveal Norman Osborn has been wearing a mask all along.

That's exactly what I meant. I'm actually surprised on a board full of so many die hard fans, people want a tech Goblin.

Which is why I think meeting in the middle with both designs would work, the tech suit obscured slightly with a tattered purple robe would make it almost look like deformed skin, which would lend credence to the fact that he's not a guy in a suit, he's a medieval creature. :funny:

People do not want Ultimate Green Goblin in the movies. And quite frankly, I think the Green Goblin design I posted would look fine, and it doesn't need to be covered up like that. It would be redundant.

....That doesn't look menacing or threatening to you...?

Wow, you're a braver person than I.

I wasn't saying that the design doesn't look menacing or threatening, but that looking menacing and threatening SHOULD be the PRIMARY CONCERN of the design. It was primarily directed at anyone who thinks that menace need not be a factor in Green Goblin's look, such as the proponents of the classic design.

I guess I was wrong for thinking I didn't have to say this again.

I thought it was obvious I meant that concept, but without the Hulk-Goblin.

Again, I did not say it should be "covered up". He's hardly covered up in the picture I posted. Green Goblin should look like a mystical creature, not just (very obviously) a guy in a suit, to the public. Regardless of what you may think, that suit design is a simplified Raimi Goblin. We're not going to get anything like that, I'll tell you now. :funny:

It'd make sense to me if this guy who's insane, flying around on a glider in a armored suit wore some form of robe to add to the mystery if he is actually a creature, or just a person.

Well when i was a little kiid watching these movies, i always thought the costume for the goblin (in the movie) looked cool. I only started noticing that it got bad reveiws a couple years ago, but when i was little it was fine to me.

I've had this saved on my computer, something like this:

thenewgoblin.jpg

With his ears poking out, and having the robe less like a cape.

Yeah but Webb shouldn't have kids in mind when his designers create the Green Goblin look for this franchise.

Tbh I still like it. The "Power Ranger" comparison seems extremely stupid to me.

How does this:

green-goblin01.jpg

Look like this:

Apart from the fact that they're both green? :funny:

If Webb has the death of Gwen Stacy in mind, which I'm betting he does, he won't be worrying about... less menacing costume designs. :funny:

Well you quoted my post saying that he should be threatening and menacing when I was the one who posted that picture...

Thing is, kids DO enjoy menacing looks and serious films. The Dark Knight is extremely popular among people in any age. So I hope Green Goblin will look truly menacing this time.
