Honestly,I could see them going with a mask again like what Raimi did,but a better,more intimidating one this time. I can't picture Goblin in makeup(although it did look cool). I mean,what would he do? Have Tom Savini come in every night before he went out to terrorize NY,and apply makeup? It wouldn't make sense. But a scarier version of Raimi's mask would work. Maybe it could have little gadgets inside it like a sound amplifier and night vision?

Anyone really notice that Spiderman's face under the mask does not look like the actors face?... Toby , Andrew, or the stunt guys either?

that's because there is a plastic shell under there to hold the material to a specific shape. A vacu-formed template pulled over a designed sculpt.

Suspend the 'ol disbelief... i'd love to see the Goblin done again with a pull over mask... and if they need a make-up artist? Savini would be the last one i would call...

I like the idea of the transformation into a lean-muscled, gremlin looking goblin on a glider with a baddas suit of somesort based of the original look of GG from the comics, but with The Amazing Spider-Man premiering with a guy turning into a green creature i don't think it would work well. I think if they can get a really good fx mask that moves with his face and some creepy yellow contacts, throw him on a glider with a satchel and call it done. (well with the cotume of course, too)

they are only using prosthetics for the beginning of the skin malformation as seen in the trailer...

make no mistake... the "Lizard" will be full on CGI.
you can see the cheep prosthetic applied in the new trailer though, so at least they're using some make-up stuff...

I agree. Make the ears a bit pointy, but not especially large.

I think they should just fuse Green Goblin with Hobgoblin. The facial features and hood, would look a lot better on screen, than those gigantic ears with the Link hat. Anyone with me on this?

No. The cap and ears are some of Green Goblin's most defining characteristics.

I still cant believe they had that concept mask but decided to make him a power ranger instead.

Scorpions would have fit perfectly in the raimi movies, his suit could use both the green goblin tech and the doc ock tech for his tail

No Jekyl/Hyde transformations either. The best part of Norman comes from him being evil without the mask as well. He was a wolf in sheep's clothes and the Goblin persona let him live it out in public.

I completely agree. I think there is a way that costume design can totally make a slightly gruesome and menacing suit without it looking like the Green Ranger. Osborn has to stay human underneath I think.

You get someone like Willem Dafoe. A guy who is great at using facial expressions with his acting (and who looks straight up creepy) and you cover his face up with a plastic looking mask that takes that whole aspect of his performance out of the equation.

Dumb move. He should of had prosthetics, like the Orcs in LOTR .

But the thing is, you CAN see Dafoes eyes and and especially his mouth behind the mask in closeups.
