I'm more concerned with the quality of the actor and the character's role in the film(s) than the appearance.

Buuuuuuuut...I will admit, the appearance is also a concern. I don't like Venom scrawny, or as huge as the Hulk...unlike WarriorDreamer, I prefer the normalish proportions of Venom from the comics of old. Just a bodybuilder-type frame, not Hulk-sized. And we don't need a dumb wrestler to fill those shoes. Get a guy who can act and have him bulk up just enough. And please, no Spider-Webs on the costume...

Bagleys Venom is the perfect route to go...I hate the crooked all over the place teeth people make him have on statues...Straight...Tongue not too crazy but long and slimey mouthed...

Normalize the eyes. Venom's mask-eyes should look exactly how they did on Black Costume Spidey, opposed to the Erik Larsen-inpired flamey, blazing, corrupted eyes.

Compare the classic eyes vs the exaggerated eyes below.

Y'know what the problem is with all of these? Some of you guys will be like "THIS is what Venom should look like:..." and you'll post like 3, 4 images... and each one is different. So how the hell should he look like? Personally, I think the most realistic and best one is the bust that Carm posted.

Exactly.

It looks "real world", slightly different from what we have seen, the eyes look explainable and viscous, all around a great design which simply looks like its suited for film.

I think it's perfect.

This is what I'd like to see, that is venom to me. I will admit I also didn't mind his look in SM3, I even liked the distorted webbing, just make him bigger and his voice was too high pitched for me.
