If you could make a Comicbook TVseries.....

I would say Daredevil could work as a Tv series, on HBO/FX...you could get some good stuff on there.

CAH

I totally agree...although...like I posted earlier, blending it with Heroes for Hire and Dr. Strange to make a Marvel Knights show would be kick @ss!!

Rage

I read online that Marvel was actually planning on doing both a Daredevil and an Ironman liveaction TV shows which would springboard from the Hulk TV movies. But once Bill Bixby died, that all went by the way side. They also had plans to make Spiderman TV movies like they did with the Incredible Hulk.

I'm glad that they didn't get a chance...they would have been absolutely horrible! They are just now getting the CGI costs and special effects costs cheap enough to do decent effects on TV...back then it would have been a disaster.

Deadpool: The Animated Series

A high adrenaline action comedy, starring the mentaly deranged merc with a mouth himself. Chronicling 'Pool's adventures, the series would go back and forth between Zany and darkly dramatic and everywhere on the spectrum in between faster than a kid with ADHD on speed. The cast of the series would be:

Deadpool: Jack Black

Blind Al: Bea Arthur

Weasle: Kyle Gass

T-Ray: Ben Stiller

Agent X: Michael Ian Black

For Syren and Typhoid Mary, I'm not sure.

Also, naturally, the D would write the theme song.

I am totally with you on this with the exception of Michael Ian Black. Not Zaney enough for Agent X. I honestly have an easier time picturing as even Taskmaster than Agent X of all people. Michael Ian Black is very...subdued. But yes, Deadpool would work very well in an animated form. Wouldn't even have to be violent either. They could replace the guns with lasers like in Spider-man TAS for all I care and it would still be great.

I suppose. Though, MIB's not that subdued in Stella. And his delivery is more suited for a certifiably insane character like X than Tasky.

But it should still have insane amounts of violence, because violence is cool.

I've given this some thought...and it occured to me that this would cost waaaaay too much to produce...but I would love to see a Captain America live-action TV show.

It would actually start in the present with Cap being uncovered in the artic by a U.S. submarine out doing some testing. He is brought on board and the skipper actually knows who Cap is. He recounts the known last battle of Captain America to his crew...telling about how he was presumed dead when he fell from the sky after disarming a Nuclear missle headed for the US. You go into a flashback with voice over for this scene. After the flashback the doctor is left alone with cap in sickbay doing some tests when Cap suddenly wakes up and grabs him.

-fade to comercial break-

I think that the episodes should be split (like LOST) into the present and the flashbacks of the past. The series can deal with Cap as a man out of time trying to adjust to modern life (post 911) learning about what has happened in the US and the world since his presumed death in 1945.

We could learn his origin in flashback as well as any important plot points (much like Lost) I think that shooting the WWII stuff in an overexposed gritty style (like private Ryan) would give the flashbacks a cool distinctive look. The present would be shot very crisp and clear.

The series could introduce us to Nick Fury, Bucky Barnes, Sharon Carter, Gail (steve's war time sweethear) The Red Skull, Baron Zemo, Hyde, Hitler and a host of others...skrulls perhaps, Captain Britian...Submariner, Super Patriot etc...

The problem of course is the budget. You'd have to film on a backlot for much of the WWII stuff (or on location in Europe) and the production costs for that would be pretty big. The danger is getting another Wonder Woman series (not good...but fun to watch ;) )

I would kill to watch a series that blended the old WWII style Cap with the man out of time aspect of the character...and did it well. I picture the modern era stuff to be very Heroes-esque in look and colour pallet while the WWII stuff would look very Band of Brothers with muted dulled out colour or no colour at all.

Thanks...unfortunately it is never going to happen because of the costs and the fact that Marvel is planning a movie. (Not to mention the other Superhero series to set itself in WWII looked cheesy as hell!) Doing stuff on the home front can be done on a backlot easily enough...but the WWII European city scenes are what will cause budget problems.

Nothing indoor sets and lots of implying can't do. A Cap TV show would be great. His powers aren't so visually spectacular that there is a need for CGI so action scenes are cake. I mean his villains use very realistic weapons and it's not like robots on tv haven't been done before.

The sets are cake, really.

God what I'd give to see Crossbones and the Red Skull's daughter together onscreen in live action.

Show Idea: Avengers the animated series!

Avengers_-_Earthspg18-19.jpg

Description:
The animated series like Kolins and Casey's Earth's Mightiest Heroes book. Tony puts the team together to tackle problems
they can't face on their own. As the show goes on and progresses we see characters evolve and the roster grow and change.
We would start with Iron Man, Wasp, Giant Man, Thor, Hulk (in episode one), then they find Captain America,
then Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye join, soon after Vision joins.

In terms of look the show would be just as colorful and fun as the comics. Just like Justice League Unlimited no character's costumes/character/origins/or history would be changed no matter how goofy they might look or how out there their stories are,
just transfer them to the cartoon.
The stories would be big and amazing like the comics.
Villians would include any Avenger villian from Kang, the Wrecking Crew,
Loki, Red Skull, Zemo, Hulk, Skrulls, Namor, and so on.
Stories would be similar, again, the JLU in that they wouldn't shy away from
very comic book plot lines (like future stories, alien stories, big powerful super villians stories, etc.)

It is just so hard to describe my idea, I want to see it so much and have so
many ideas on the subject.

But Justice League Unlimited did change costumes, chartacters, and origins when they were too out their, goofy, or just would be too clunky to work into the show. Prime examples include Chronos, Amazo, Metamorpho, General Wade Eiling, and Cadmus.

Power Man Iron Fist would make a great series. The Daughters of the Dragon
Colleen Wing and Misty Knight could cameo as fellow crimefighters and possible girlfriends. If you set the series in the 1970's it would be a good retro-superhero series.
Luke Cage/Power Man =Isahia Washington (SP?)
Danny Rand/Iron Fist= Ray Park
Colleen Wing= Denise Rchards
Misty Knight=Anjenelle Ellis (SP?) Undercover Brother

I like to see another shot at a good Teen Titans cartoon. Not so corny and with better animation. Also have Superboy and Power Girl show up as well.

POWER girl? don't you mean WONDER GIRL?:ninja:

The Punisher on HBO/FX!

Seriously, how has the Punisher been f^cked up in live action for so long.

i think that nightwing would make a great tv show, also have tim drake guest star everynow and then, but never show batman, at least not his face.

also i think smallville proved a justice league show could work, cause if anyone saw that episode where clark worked with the flash, cyborg, and greenarrow, it was awesome.

as for marvel properties i think captain america could work if done right and having the costume not as bright, i think it would campy if the costume was exactly like it is in the comics

or actually a blackcat tv show would be pretty badass as well, that could work very very well

A great comic to adapt for HBO would be Marvel's KILLRAVEN. 1972 Marvel Comic's adapted H.G. Wells War of the Worlds into a series which lasted only 20+ issues. Imagine if WOTW was adapted today, with modern special effects, and without Tom Cruise. Killraven and his allies escaped the horrors of the Martians Gladatorial games and went rogue. An ultraviolent post apocolyptic Us vs Mars series would be excellent. I never read the comic in it's first run as I was only 3, but I read the Marvel Essential trade paper back and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I guess I miss spoke. What I was reffering to was characters like Atom Smasher, Vibe, Blue Devil, some characters like them were kept as they were. (I thought most origins were kept as is, guess not)

I was trying to say don't change Captain America to look more like Ultimate Cap (getting rid of the wing things on his mask, or his boots) and don't give all the characters super (toyrrific) battle armor.
They should have Giant Man in his red and blue suit with the antennas, have Cap with the winged mask and swashbuckler type boots, keep Thor in his original design.
Stuff like that.

I wish they'd never tried that terrible Birds of Prey show, because it ruined the chances of the Gotham Central show they had planned.

Can you imagine that? Basically Law and Order or CSI but in Gotham, with guest appearances by Batman and his villains. It would be the coolest thing ever.

I honestly wouldn't mind if they changed the costumes a bit.

I am a huge fan of the Ultimate Captain America uniform(s)

I love the miitaristic look of the 40s cap and the more streamline militaristic uniform of the present cap. I was never a fan of the wings on his head...that is for sure.

If they did a series of Captain America...I would like it to use the Ultimate uniforms...or concepts closely related to that.

Costumes change. Sorry.

Did anyone notice that Superman is barely squinting as the rest of the SUPERHEROES cover their eyes. Even GL has his hand kinda up, and his eyes are EMITTING light. Superman just looks on like 'hmmm'

Anyway... A Captain America TV show could be pretty danged awesome. The idea of a Cap WWII miniseries sounds pretty awesome too, honestly...

I'd still watch Cloak and Dagger over all that... and a Fantastic Four americanime cartoon done right would own...
