If you could stretch it out 1-2 more seasons would u want too? Or is ending overdue?

I wouldn't see that as much of an issue. They could work around lex. They wouldn't need lex to be featured all the time.

Usually I would say no but given what happaned with the movie now I would say yes, especially with it becoming a full fledged Superman show.

Ya as nice as it would be to see more out of the show. With all the looming copyright issues and the reboot needing to be a huge hit. Its best to end now. So it gives the reboot free reign and to have it be only supes right now. So they can focus at getting superman done right this time and everything.

I like Smallville, but no.

For me it should have ended around.. season 7 at the very maximum.. OR at least the 'Smallville/farmboy' portion of it should have ended, anything beyond that should have been an outright Superman show in the sense of a suit/glasses etc

That being said I have enjoyed recent seasons main plots, Doomsday & now this Darkseid one in particular are interesting takes on the characters first meeting with Superman/Clark/Kal-El.

I actually thought Season 9 would have been a good point to end it.

Season 10 hasn't been bad, but without actually showing too much of Darkseid (unlike Zod, the villain last season) I don't think the show has managed to portray this feeling of dread which we're obviously meant to be having about his impending arrival. There's also been a lot of filler episodes this season which don't seem to have progressed things a lot.

That sinking budget isn't helping things either. I watched a few episodes of Season 1 of Smallville last week, and the difference in the look and feel of the show is startling : I hadn't even realised how different it is now until I watched them. In early Smallville seasons you really felt that there was a big world out there beyond Smallville; loads of different locations, wide open roads, outdoor scenes at forests/lakes/etc, and Metropolis actually looked like a city. Now we get the same sets rehashed over and over; interior shots are always carried out somewhere with faux light spilling in the windows and you never see any real location or movement through them windows (and that golden sheen over everything in the Kent farm house is starting to bug me bigtime); street shots are always done on the same street, but from different angles; and large 'crowds' of people tend to involve 5-6 random extras.

I still enjoy the show, don't get me wrong, but I think it's the right time to wrap up - the budgetary limitations are really draining Smallville of some of it's lustre.

If the show was transformed into an actual Superman show starring Welling, Durance, Rosenbaum, and McKean...I'd be all for the show continuing.

If there was an 11th season, I'd have Clark, Lois, Conner, Kara, Martha, Perry, Lex, Cat, and Dinah as the cast for it. :super:

Personally I would love a Green Arrow spin off show with Dinah, Chloe, and a rotating cast of Justice League members.

I think the show has been doing fine story wise and sure budget cuts suck but they usually use budget well.

I wouldn't extend it. They are clearly out of stories to stall with and the budget has dwindled to nearly nothing.

i dont think so, sure budget has been slashed for last few yrs. But they did do well enough with it. As for stalling ya some things were bad they did. But if they did things differently they could taken the show in another way.

If they want to stop the show before he becomes \S/ they have to end it. The past few years with him as the Blur it seems even the writers were having a hard time not acknowledging where it was headed. The only way an extension works is if they went full on Superman show and get back to the mythos.

the show isnt stopping they decided full on that this would be the end. and the show pretty much since seasons 6/8 has been superman just not clark going by superman or the super suit.

Sorry, Webhead, gotta partially disagree with you. It wasn't until season eight that Clark truly became a proactive hero. Season six and seven were just dramatic fillers that hardly advanced his story, and the overall arc. The "reboot" that TPTB did in season eight was perfect. It's exactly what they should have done after season four or five.

well ya i was just giving a general feel, the show changed alot at season 6 time frame, and being more metropolis/hero based. But ya 8 and on more proactive hero clark. But i was just getting at from those years on its became more or less superman.

If we could have more seasons I'd love it but with a new Superman movie coming out it aiin't gonna happen.

I am still hoping for a spin off maybe a junior justice league show with Conner and some new characters been tutored by Oliver, occasionally Clark, Cyborg etc only problem with that is it could clash with Young Justice

Would be nice for a spin off but I don't see it likely option right now. With cast/crew all starting to move on to other projects.

Sometimes I like the idea of just one more season. 12 might be too much, but it would of been nice to have a eleventh season. I'd love a Smallville spin-off dealing with Conner or something.
