Who would you have gone with?

I have long thought that Robert Rodriguez could have done a great job with the character, as well as Michael Mann.

Who else would fit the bill?

Hood

jerry bruckheimer...wholescale, widespread panic, combat, gun-trotting and lots of explosions!!! :woot:

Michael Man could do it no problem, aswell as Robert Rodriguez. I would personally like to see John (Mctiernan?), I just got through watching Die Hard and this guy knows action. A big scale epic action movie for Frank would be kick ass.

I thought they had the perfect director in Walter Hill, he and Jane came to an agreement on what the movie should be and in the end for some ****ing reason Lions Gate said no to Hill.

that would have been sooooooooooooooooooo good,

Hill is one of the greatest action directors ever.

I always thought John McTiernan would have been great. The man did Die Hard, Predator, but seems to have taken a tumble in his movies.

I have to think that Sylvester Stallone could direct a good Punisher movie. Not star in it, but direct it. Same with Clint Eastwood.

Louis Leterrier after seeing The Incredible Hulk
Robert Rodriguez - Just watch Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico

I'm curious though on seeing what Lexi brings to it all.

if i were god and could make anyone i wanted do the movie? scorsese. a punisher or daredevil film from him would be legendary.

I think robert rodriguez is too over the top, I just cant get into the 30 guys in a room with machine guns shooting at one guy and all seem to miss. Punisher is to planned out in his attacks basically your gonna die and not know what hit you. Im very excited to see what Lexi is gonna do with the film.

I think Mann would be good but im not sure if this kind of movie is his cup of tea. I like Tony Scott I think he could work. Nice pick with Sylvestor Stallone, I loved the last Rambo I could see him directing a movie like this. Another pick for me would be Stephen Norrington of the 1st (only real good) blade film

I'd like to see what Clint Eastwood could do with the movie too. He's an excellent director.

I'd like Punisher to have been done Alien style where various talented directors put the Punisher in their kind of world.

Punisher 1: Paul Verhoven
Punisher 2: John McTiernan
Punisher 3: Sylvester Stallone
Punisher 4: Joe Carnahan

Starring: Thomas Jane or Ray Stevenson (Depending on which one I find better in the end)

Paul Verhoevan for the Knights series

Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorcese or Stephen Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan anyone?) for the Max series

Man, I'd sacrifice my life for a Marty Punisher epic that mixes Taxi Driver with Goodfellas/Casino.

I dont know maybe im nuts but Marty doing a punisher movie?? I cant see him doing a movie like that. But hey you never know..I have had this weird thing in seeing Mel Gibson direct a punisher... but there you go everybody has there own view on it.

after seeing the latest RAMBO film, i would also go for SYLVESTER STALLONE
love the massacre goin in his film
its not over-the-top
although, the film has ultraviolent touch, the killing going on there is much reasonably believable!

david fincher would be my ideal pick for a punisher film. alex proyas would be pretty great too. brian de palma would be badass. david ayer would be a good choice too, or maybe tony scott. maybe even robert rodriguez or david cronenberg. that's a long list...

Kurt sutter,,,, but give him complete control. so he would do it.

his work on "The shield" as well as "Sons of anarchy" is gritty and great stuff.

he said he liked the fact in "Warzone" they kept in the "becoming of Jigsaw" scene.

other wise
Richard Donner--Lethal weapon was a awesome punisher style kind or movie.
as well as other like more recently "16 Blocks."
