What do you think?

It requires some deep thought

Yeah I've seen how fish do it, and it's not the fun way, so having that half sucks.
Although with a frikin fish head you're not going to get lot of action either...

Oh sorry, you said deep thought? That's as far as I got.

Human top, fish bottom.

Easier that way. You can still communicate, do mostly human stuff and whatever else besides going for a walk.

I'd rather the top of me be human, and the bottom half be fish; it would suck as far as running and cycling go, but I'd be an excellent swimmer, and, as stated above, I'd still be able to communicate, use internet forums, and eat normal food (though there are some concerns where the digestive and reproductive systems are involved).

Random af, I like it! I would pick the fish head. Need to be able to procreate the species!

I voted fish head, cause I love my male reproduction organ.

If it comes with ripped abs and a magical trident, I would choose human top, fish bottom.

Otherwise, fish top, human bottom for me, just for the ability to terrorize seaside tourists and to do a hilarious can-can dance.

You'll have gills, it will be hard to breathe on the surface.

I assume you could survive on either land or water. Otherwise, by applying the same logic the human-top version would be royally screwed, because you'd only have a human respiratory system, and no legs.

I had my times wondering about that, the human top looks like it requires us to move like whales. And then there's the skin never wrinkles or softens from being exposed to too much water.

Thinking a bit more into this, is it to be a fixed state, or ever-changing one? In some lore, Mermaids that come onto land shred their tail and grow legs (or rather, there's a transformation there).

Does the same apply here? As in, when we're in water we're either top half fishy and bottom half human or top half human and bottom half fishy (as is standard) but when we come onto land, we're fully human, or is the state [of the question] on a more permanent basis, and thus it doesn't matter whether we're on land, in the sea, or somehow in the air, our state doesn't change?

Someone has watched Shape of Water too many times.

Ha. Once! I’ve seen it once.

It’s interesting the results are straight down the middle. It clearly says a lot about who we are so I am judging everyone by their answers
