If you were in charge at Warner and could do what you want. What would you do?

Here is my agenda as boss...

-Bring in Timm to write a live action adaption to World's Finest. Which was a great story on how Supes and Bats meet.

-Then bring in Bale and Nolan and ask how much to get Bale involved in the movie.

-When I do a JL movie. Bring in comic writers to work with movie writers to come up with a script.

-Get Welling in the suit for the above movies.

Finally, come to this site and hire you all as discussion group to agree or disagree with plots and casting. :cwink:

Oh and bring back more Babylon 5.

I'm not sure a live action JLA movie would ever work. It's hard to get an ensemble like this and it be anywhere near believable. Xmen 1 was as close as a supergroup ever came to being realized correctly on the big screen.
The reason for this was the direction they took with the non-spandex approach, the genetic mutation from which all the abilities arose and a real world prejudice that makes the Xmen work.

here we're talking about aliens, goddesses, meta humans and lord knows what else.

So to answer your question I'd probably not try to make a live action version of the JLA.
I think instead I'd opt for a full CGI film.
Or at least a motion captured cgi film like Beowulf.

I pretty much agree with this. I'd want to merge the "known actors" of current franchises into JLA so not to confuse the non-fans who are fans of the stand-alones, and to get the action, and direction of all the characters I'd be wanting one hell of a director involved (Zemeckis, Cameron....) as well as superb writers!!!

The budget would be ridiculous, but at least it would be done right (well what I think would be right).

- Reboot Superman

- Launch solo films for WW, Flash and GL

- After at least 3 movies of Nolan/Bale Batman, 3 movies of rebooted Superman, and solo movies for WW, Flash and GL make Justice League film

Get only minor, but still important parts for Superman and Batman in the JLA film and have Routh and Bale reprise their roles.

- Complete the Dark night in 2008 (already in progress)

- Do A sequel to 'Superman Returns' and have him fight Doomdays in 2009. Routh is already in it, so leave Welling out (although I personally think Welling would be better)

- Do a stand alone WonderWoman movie in 2010 (staring jennifer Conelley) and a Flash movie that same year. WW for spring (march) Flash for end of Summer (Aug).

- Finish the new Nolan Batman movies trilogy to conclude by 2011.

-3rd Superman movie in 2012. Have him go against brainic.

- Sequels to Wonderwoman and Flash in 2013

THEN DO MY ENTIRE JLA MOVIE in 2015 and have then go against DARKSEID!

So now you've already had your main core of characters in a movie for the public with their own movies and sequels..

Just make solo WW and Flash movies and a JSA movie maybe a Green Lantern and Green Arrow flick

Just make solo WW and Flash movies and a JSA movie maybe a Green Lantern and Green Arrow flick

- Do two superhero movies a year, no more, no less.

- Focus only on Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Green Arrow. Yeah, DC has a lot of characters and Marvel is making a lot of movies with characters such as Hawkeye, Cloak and Dagger, Ghost Rider, etc. But Warner Bros have other movies to make than just DC movies.

- Justice League movie made after the solo DC movies, a few sequels, and a World's Finest movie.

2008: THE DARK KNIGHT

2009: Superman reboot (see my sig) with new cast, crew

2010: Big budget "Wonder Woman" starring a-listers in Summer, The Flash in Febuary

2011: Batman 3

2012: Superman 2

2013: Wonder woman 2

2014: Flash 2 in summer

2015: Batman Vs. Superman with Bale & new Superman

2016: -off of comic book movies-

2017: -off of comic book movies-

2018: JUSTICE LEAGUE with new batman, superman, flash, and wonder woman

2019: -off-

2020: JUSTICE LEAGUE 2

2022: -off-

2023: Green Lantern in March, Aquaman in July

2024: The Flash

2025: Aquaman 2

2026: Green Lantern 2

2027: The Flash 2

2028: Aquaman 2

2029: Green Lantern 3

2030: BATMAN origin movie

2031: SUPERMAN origin movie

2032: WONDER WOMAN origin movie

2033: BATMAN 2

2034: SUPERMAN 2

2035: WONDER WOMAN 2

2036: BATMAN 3

2037: SUPERMAN LIVES

2038: WONDER WOMAN 3
This way, just when Batman is facing over exposure with 3 films, you get 3 year off and add superman to make it more hyped. Then when all the actors and franchises get old, you get combine them all into one with JUSTICE LEAGUE, gaining interest as they all join forces while getting new actors.

I'd do a Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Flash movie before I do a JLA. Green Arrow could be done cheaply for about $40 million and have a big return. Flash and GL around $100 million but if done right, these movies could be huge!

First thing I would have done was get the right's to "The Spirit".

Take that and make the film. Make sure Frank had everything he needed.

Then, I would rehire David Goyer for The Flash. Dark, brooding, and action is what the film needed.

You contract Nolan for the last film in the Batman franchise.

Throw away the key on Green Lantern. Stick the man in the Justice League film. He doesn't have the appeal for his own film.

Start hiring better, more informed directors. Make sure each story and script have the soundest and best possible story's.

The Flash SHOULD NOT be dark. Flash and GL could be a great trilogy if done right. GL could be made in a Star wars type mode and Flash like Spidey. If you had to make a dark hero, do it with Green Arrow.

Eather do a sequel to Superman Retrurns or after Smallville ends do superman spunoff from Smallville.Do not reboot Superman. We don't needs a 3 live action continuity.Pressure George Miller to get Tom Welling as Superman.
Try to work a deal for David Boreanaz to play Batman In Justice League.
Keep the actos for Wonder Woman,Flash, and Green Lantern for their solo films.Cast Kate Beckinsale as Catwoman In Shadow of the bat.

I would sell all my stock and live a happy life in Canada! :woot:

No. Seriously, I would prolly do what "Excel" listed, but on a tighter schedule. Every year two big movies and the JLA movies once all of the A listers are done with their trilogies.

:hyper:

if its too tight theyll burn out; they gotta spaced out properly and ended and began correctly in order to retain interest and buzz.

The Flash SHOULD NOT be dark. Flash and GL could be a great trilogy if done right. GL could be made in a Star wars type mode and Flash like Spidey. If you had to make a dark hero, do it with Green Arrow.

I agree and disagree with this.

Yes, Flash should be lighthearted like the Spidey movies. What killed the series is they tried to be like the Tim Burton Batman movie and a really bad suit)

And Yes if GL does a SOLO move make it Sci-Fi like a StarWars movie.

Let him be the A "by the book" soldier for the Guardians and fight bug eyed creatures with a clear cut good versus evil movie.

However, instead of a SOLO GA movie, I would prefer GL and GA movie (as a sequel to GL solo movie) where GA introduces GA to the lesson that not all crime is Blak and white ala the classic Denny O neil and Neal Adams stories.

And those hae to be dark. No way around, that kind of reality in comics cannot be clear cut. but in the same vein of how Empire is to StarWars (A new hope)

Get Tom Welling as Superman imediatly for the JLA movie and a new Superman movie.
Get Michael Keaton, Tim Burton to do an adaptation of the Dark Knight Returns along with Nicholson, Pfeiffer, Gough and Anthony Hopkins (as Oliver Queen).
Greenlight solo movies for The Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Green Lantern.
Do a new Swamp Thing movie.

 Wait; we're planning out to make money and be successful, right?

Light and campy never worked for anyone. Green Arrow has already been taken and done with. He will be the star of Supermax and using him in a solo film would mess up the continuity.

hmmm... i'd take the batman begins batman suit and keep it forever

1. Aquaman. The show was good, should've been given a chance. This film can help. Peter David writes, Cameron directs.

2. GL: Vehicle for Fillion.

3. WW movie.

4. Wolrds finest. A vehicle that can test team-ups between 2 big characters, and can add in more which leads to...

5. JLA. If done right, this can become a franchise, like a trilogy.

6 and 7: As posted before by Zipbags: hire actual comics writers and listen to fans. The fans money is why hollywood makes the movies in first place, the least that can be done is give them their money worth.

Personally I wouldn't even think about a JLA movie until there had been live action adaptations of Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and the Flash. I'm not a big fan of a JLA movie to begin with, to be honest. I'd rather have individual universes for each hero and not even go with a DC universe, which, in my opinion, cheapens all the heroes.

Why would Spider-Man be a big deal if 20 minutes away there was an alliance of mutants in Westchester, and Jessica Alba turning invisible across town? It works in the comics, but things need to stay separate on the big screen.

If I was in charge at Warner and could do what I wanted. What would I do?

Hire Tom Welling as my JLA Superman!

I'd....

- make JLA a CGI epic using the writing talents that DC has in the animated department and set it for a Holiday release

- I'd have plans for 2 more Superman films with Routh, following the Death arc (ending part 1 with his death)

- Keep the Nolan series as is and on schedule.

- After the third Nolan/Bale film, I'd work on a green screen DKR with Viggo or Daniel Day Lewis (yes, I know the LOTR connection) as Bruce Wayne

- I'd kill Smallville and make a new series. A police drama set in Gotham with Gordon as the central character, plus Harvey Dent pre-Two Face and other familiar faces in the GCPD. Bats would make cameos, but the idea is that he's only one guy and the cops come in contact with the criminals and freaks of Gotham more often without him.

- I'd pay heavy attention to Iron Man, production value, script, tone, target audience, loyalty to source material, marketing, advertising, etc. And based on its success or failure use that as model on how to bring the Green Lantern to life.

- A live action Batman will NEVER wear panties.
