Let me start this off by saying I am psyched for the prospect of a live action Justice League movie. But, reading some of the horrible ideas Warner has and the reaction of most of the comic fans. I have to wonder one thing??? Could Warner make the same mistakes it made with Catwoman and to an extent Superman Returns. Don't get me wrong Superman Returns was ok. But, it did something no comic movie should do...It split the fans. Its hard enough for a comic movie to survive. But, when you lose half the fans (those who will see it more than once.) You do hurt the bottom line. Look at Spiderman and Batman Returns. Both took an old idea and made it fresh without having to compromise the character. I don't want to turn this into a SR bash thread. But, making a sequel/remake of a movie from 30 years ago hurt. Also, to have backstories that aren't used anymore (Lex as criminal instead of corporate exec). You can freshen things up without going against the comics too much. For example having spiderwebs come from him naturally rather than making them with chemicals.
What I am trying to say is I really hope Warner doesn't try to re-invent the Justice League into something that the fans dispise. Just take the time to get a good director and writer. Hire a cast that can act and looks the part instead of the big name of the day. And do it right. I am hoping some of the stories that are rumored are false. It just makes no sense. Instead of having 2 or 3 villains (Brother Eye, White Martians, Lex, etc). Go with one. Remember if the movie is successfull. You will have an opportunity to do sequels. And you will need villains. Do blow them all in the first movie.
With regards to Bale and Routh. The only actor/actress priority they should have is Bale. Do what it takes to get him in the movie. Whether that be throwing him extra money and guaranteeing him and Nolan that the movie will not affect Bats 3. While Routh is ok. I can deal with him being replaced. I know he has fans and if they want to save him and the Supes franchise. Bring him in. Honestly, I would like Welling...but, thats another thread.
So to end my rant. Please Warner you can still make your 2009 release date and still make sure the movie is done correctly.
