I'm Positive The Spider-man Day Celebrations Are At The Finale

We've all read the Q & A, and supposed "script reviews" that stated that NY holds a "Spider-Man Day" type ceremony.

Does this have any other fans giving a resounding WTF?! Spider-Man Day? Spider-Man Day?!. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Spidey a "public menace?" Doesn't the public HATE him?

This (along with the lack of wisecracks) has always been an aspect of the Spidey-film franchise that I have hated. I squirm every time that woman in Spider-Man 2 yells "Go Spidey, go!"

Why are they doing this? Why are they taking away an aspect of the character that made him so unique?

Any other fans agree with me?

Making Spidey a wisecracking public menance would not be faithful to the Superman movies! This ceremony is perfect because Superman also had one in Superman 3.
