Both are hacks. But GI Joe was sure more entertaining than TF2, though.
Because the "G.I." in G.I. JOE stands for "Government Issued", not "Global Integrated". So if the studio wanted an international team of soldiers, they shouldn'yt gave made a movie called "G.I. JOE", instead they should have remade MEGAFORCE.
Now, while "GI Joe" was a term coined for American soldiers, there's nothing to suggest it cannot also be applied globally.
True, but in the real world (and yes, I know G.I. JOE isn't set in the real world), the "G.I." is still a term coined for American soldiers. Again, if they wanted to do a movie featuring an international team of heroes, they should have called this movie ACTION FORCE.
Making a movie called G.I. JOE about an international team of heroes would be like making a movie called RAP MUSIC about a Heavy Metal band.
