Regarding Xavier & Reed

Xavier and Reed biting the dust is sure to piss off a lot of fans and I honestly do not blame them. This is the first major appearance of a Fantastic 4 and X-Men character in the MCU and to hear that they die is extremely disappointing

It was kinda obvious from the get go that the sequence was designed so that the characters would be canon fodder the moment it became clear that they were variants, that the whole sequence was a setup for a big fight against an overpowered antagonist and that it would happen midway through the movie. So the outcome wasn’t really a surprise and the overall execution being delightfully brutal elevates the scene.

However, I clearly don’t think it was the best way to welcome a character and the actor playing it when a version of them are supposed to be one of the major players in the MCU moving forward. Everyone else in it is just an elaborate multiversal wink to Marvel fans but the “big one”, I have to say it didn’t land all that well with me.

They aren't in the siX one siX..

And we know the upcoming films in store for us.
Which couldn't be said to Black Bolt.

Those cameos really did feel like a big wasted opportunity. Xavier got the most to do and he even repeated a line from Days of Future Past, but for him to die right after? I don't know about that. None of them put up enough of a fight.
The two ladies did Xpecially compare to
Black Bolt and Mr. Fantastic

Patrick Stewart as Xavier had a great happy send off in DoFP and a great tragic one in Logan...and they brought him back for cheap fanservice.
Smh

I heard he quotes this line from DOFP.

"Just because someone stumbles, loses their way doesn't mean their lost forever"

I really really hated the illuminati scenes. it was just used as cheap shocking moment that did dirty to those actors and characters. it was kinda mocking ish dumb fan service.
I'm surprised those actors said yest to this.
we heard all sort of who's in it, who said no blah blah, happy for whoever said no to this cameo.

wanda is the main story and yet the development of her being evil was so done poorly.
like.. they skipped project between wandavision to this.
I didn't feel for her at all and now I don't like her at all. hope her next appearance is real redeemable moment that lead to sacrifice death and she's done for good.

america chavez was great.

I think marvel need to stay away from eye shadow make up as much as possible.
more heavy eye shadow make up, especially with colors.. make too obvious.
agatha looked awful on WV. wanda on this is also meh. and clea looks like bad cosplay too.
they need to fid better make up idea or post production touch to make them less cosplay.

I assume the original leak which is 80% right was original plot before reshoot.
and that story is much better and more redeemable for wanda.
I thought whole reshoot was to make wanda more likeable.. lol

Yeah, totally agree about the Iluminati. It was like a cosplay convention scene.

Actually I thought Olson did a good job as Wanda.
Her story doesn't make a lot of sense: I'm sad so it's okay that I murder hundreds of people and risk destroying worlds.

But, the performance was pretty good. She did a good job with crappy material.

Cumberbatch himself was also pretty decent, with the dross he was given.

The Clea cameo was ridiculous and did indeed look like cosplay.

Well, if more likeable was what they were going for, they ****ed up, because she was straight up evil.

Having said that, I liked Wanda more than the Illuminati - they came across as a smug and self righteous bunch of *******s , Lashana Lynch specialises in playing smug, unlikeable characters, so she was channelling her James Bond performance. She might not be dead but it was actually enjoyable seeing Wanda take her down a peg.

I hated the Reed Richards costume, somehow it managed to look worse than the FF films from the 2000s.

What a disappointment this movie has been as a Strange fan. They really did him so dirty SMDH.
Forcing Wanda into this, giving her so much screentime on a plotline that makes you cringe nonstop ruined the film for me and is one of the reasons why the movie isn't reviewed so well. I'm not even gonna mention the joke that was the Illuminati.

Scott Derrickson is having the last laugh. I bet his vision would have resulted in a far superior film.

This movie should have just been about Doctor Strange. It would have been a damn good film.
The parts where it was about him were very solid, then Wanda parts came on and it felt so jarring in a bad way as if I was looking at cuts of a good film mixed with cuts of another film. Didn't fit it at all.

And of course Dr Strange is made to look like a simp, a loser again. In his OWN DAMN MOVIE.
He's been made into a joke for a while now, made him look so weak in NWH and now here as well.

I'm so sick and tired of forcing other characters into other characters' films. Give them their own movie. Just don't force this **** on us it looks awful. No one asked for these glorified lame cameos, or multiverse or Wanda ****. I just wanted to watch a Dr Strange movie and I just watched half of a Strange movie the other half was a Wanda movie. And the Wanda parts were the worst parts. I feel bad for Elizabeth as she did a good job acting but I'm so sick and tired of her plotline, sick and tired of her imaginary kids (magic is real bla bla her kids are real bla bla miss me with that).

The parts that were cool were the visuals, the Dr Strange parts.
As always forcing so many plotlines, concepts, characters in a movie in such a short time is never a good thing. Especially if this is that characters only 2nd solo outing. That's the worst part. Sure you made Strange look like a loser, simp again. I thought NWH was a fluke but nope. But did you have to do him dirty like this in just his 2nd solo film ? He's THE biggest star/character you own right now. Such a missed opportunity to not capitalize on that and instead you use him to set up future BS.

I don't know man just sick and tired of Marvel lately. Thor will be a hit no doubt but it'll just be like Ragnarok more jokes Taika style which is fine but I miss a character focused, developed movie.

People in my cinema were moaning at the Wanda parts and The Illuminati parts as well.
Some were bored, which is what you never wanna see. I didn't even wait for the end credits, was pissed and disappointed how they treated Strange in his only 2nd film.

What were the differences of the leak and this?

The post credit scenes have gotten dumber and dumber. Both of Eternals were horrible.

I don't think there was problem with cookie credit.
people said same thing for all the marvel cookies too imo.
"just that?" "who is that?" "what is that?"

it's just .. people want more and big from it as having cookie itself is no longer special.

it just doesn't make sense for them to acting up like that when they are supposed to be the that powerful group and also smarter universe than main one, with all that tech and knowledges.
then dying just like that in some dumb violent way.
oh also mordo too.. just poor writing all over the film.

Maybe I had my expectations set too high. But we get it Marvel Wanda is the most OP character you have and the only person that can defeat her is herself. They really wasted a Sam Rami directed Doctor Strange film to tell that..... But if this did take Wanda out of the future Avengers/Kang stuff then I guess it was a necessary sacrifice.

Talking about the Illuminati, because I really like that group, I think the lineup is, for the most part, fine, but wish they'd gone further with it, especially since they're variants. Show a different Tony Stark. Have Ioan Gruffudd as an older Reed. Maybe even throw Beast in there. Sure, that'd be two mutants, but they went through the trouble of bringing back Patrick Stewart. They could've given Kelsey Grammer or Nicholas Hoult a call, I'm sure.

So I haven't seen the movie...but how has Dr. Strange been made to seem like a "simp?" And when was he made to look like a simp before?

Did you see What If? Basically every Strange that doesn't die eventually destroys his universe because he lost Christine some way and could never get her back.
