Arrow In your opinion who is the female Lead if there was one?

Felicity does not need to appear in every single spin off they do! But I am guessing she will show flash in when Ollie finds out about the Barricty (lol) kiss on the Vixen spin off (why they are dragging it there, idk)

Well remember now according to Amell there will be an Arrow character that jumps from show to show and that will be their job.

Felicity seems the likely person. I mean she's already kind of done it this season being on Flash 3 times in 18 episodes.

But they also said it wouldnt be someone from the main cast.

Maybe they meant Ray, but at the same time that seems too obvious. Then again, it is hard to imagine them not using Ray on Arrow again and to not use him on the Flash would be a missed opportunity. He very much suits the tone of that show.

Felicity is the female lead. Laurel was until about the middle of season 2. I like Felicity, but the whole thing with Laurel is weird. The whole thing just seems like it happened because a stupid behind the scenes fued.

I don't think its a feud, but I do believe that Cassidy has a stronger contract, and has always been designated as the series lead, so it's more a natural progression of the issues that have happened with both character's arcs.

And there's a part of me that wants to argue that having your story swamped by, or smothered, by romantic entanglements as the be-all end-all of their arcs. Laurel and Iris have both been in about the same ratio of stand-alone character arc vs romance arcs stricken by angst.

Katie is the lead on paper. Felicity is the lead on screen.

Katie is the lead on paper. Felicity is the lead on screen.

I hope they can change this for Season 4.

Laurel has really improved A LOT as a character, in my honest opinion, during the course of this season.

She's by no means a flawless character, but she's been handled better than the likes of Felicity during the course of Season 3.

If they can keep her away from Oliver as a love interest for Season 4 and allow her to grow as a leader figure like how she is in the comics, then that'll make things really good in my opinion.

That's the thing: Laurel is so good because she ISN'T the female lead. Because she's been allowed to fade into the background, the writers/producers probably feel as if audience expectations of her are lower, and that they therefore have more leeway to write her first and foremost as an awesome character, as opposed to giving her material "worthy" of the female lead. And now, because Felicity has been shoved to the forefront, many fans have gotten irritated with her.

The problem with Arrow is that it's incapable of writing everyone well at the same time. If one character is undergoing improvement, another is falling from grace.

At the very least, it will be interesting to see Laurel on Flash. Felicity has certainly benefited from that. I think the problem is that Guggenheim and possibly other Arrow writers have some strange ideas about Laurel/Black Canary.

They always give Laurel dramatic material and never give her any light/funny moments like Felicity has gotten since her introduction. She finally gets light material when she cross overs over to Flash.

Felicity has and will always be the lead because of the huge fanbase she has. Though I don't count Laurel out. I actually like her now more than I did in Season 2. She's grown as a character and I enjoyed seeing her become the BC.

I kinda wonder, what was the point of having Felicity kiss Barry. Yes, they had a much more immediate amount of chemistry, and they had their eyes set on others, but I almost feel like it's was forced in the same way as the Caitlin and Barry kiss is going to be, because they are trying to appeal to shippers of all sorts.

I thought that was a kiss for ending whatever they could be. Then in the crossover Felicity stated they weren't going to be together after Caitlin and Cisco watched as Barry sped her back and her shirt caught on fire.

But honestly there's no way Barry and Felicity could be together, unless there are tons of crossover episodes in the future which would get monotonous. I like their scenes together way more than he has with his current leads.

Caitlin and Barry aren't the forced couple in Flash, Barry and Iris are by a mile.

Katie Cassidy is, but lately you couldn't tell.
