I still have confidence in this film because of Spielberg. I know some will say, well "The Lost World" disappointed, but then I think he didn't want to make the lost world, but he sure as hell wanted to make this. I think it'll be good, we all just have to look forward to what the trailer shows us.

The Lost World, War of the Worlds, 1941... all abd SPielberg flicks. So what, 3 bad out of 49 good movies. Somehow, I think this will be good because Lucas isnt directing OR writing. He only came up w/the story and produces (like Raiders, Temple of Doom, Crusade)... I'm sure we'll be fine.

"I'd kill them. First, I'd tell them to go f*** themselves, and then I'd kill them both."
Harrison Ford, on what he'd say to George Lucas and Steven Spielberg if he was recast in Indiana Jones 4

"Wanna come outside and find out?"
Harrison Ford's quip to college student who stated his opinion about Ford being too old to play Indiana Jones. February 2006

Ford is the man. :word:

I cant help but think this might be another Phantom menace, Lucas is known to be a greedy bugger. It'd be nice if the film was good (not as good as The Dark Knight but good) but i still have my reservations.
You already know how good The Dark Knight is, despite never seeing it?

Prefix, I don't think that's what he meant. I think he meant that in a competetive sort of way - that he wants TDK to be better than everything else this summer. Given the lineup (Iron Man, Prince Caspian, Indy 4, X Files, Hulk), I'd say TDK has a lot of competition.

;)

I think he's saying it'd be nice for it to be good, but he'd like TDK to be better.

EDIT: ^ What he said. ;)

The Lost World was simply average, which I guess was a disappointment after Jurassic Park. War Of The Worlds suffered from a bad ending, rest was fine. Haven't seen 1941. Even Speilberg's worst films are pretty good.

For some odd reason, 1941 gets a bad rap, along with HOOK.

The only people that I've 'encountered' who didn't like Hook are online people. NOBODY online can tell why Hook sucked, besides the use of Robin Williams. I swear to you! I swear to you!

Hook was fun imo. Good moments... not great, but entertaining.

I must have written it a hundred times on this board. I even had someone else's explanation as my signature ("A mostly dull film about a hairy man flying around")

Hook sucks because it is completely self-indulgent, sickly sentimental and ridiculously over-long.

I think Hook may be a generational thing. It came out when I was little and I loved it. The Lost Boys playing pretend, and all the fake food and the games...i gobbled that stuff up. But my parents still complain to this day about the many times I made them watch it.

I am so going to try not to spoil this movie for myself. The little I do know, I'm happy with. And what I do know about the film is not much.

I was a little annoyed at first, calling it Indiana Jones and the Walker of Doom, or Indiana Jones and the Last Rest Home, but I started getting more excited about it. Especially after seeing Ford in the costume again, even though he looked old.

I got really into it though when I saw the movie poster last month in the movie theater. It looked just like the other classic Indy posters, it felt so comfortable, so right. Like seeing a favorite family member again after not seeing him for a long time.

Can't wait to see what the next adventure will be for Dr. Jones.

Also im sure when connery was bond people couls see no one else playing him, its the same with ford and indy, the same with Keaton and Batman. Though i think when Ford gives up so will the character.

But that just brings me back to Lucas being a greedy bugger.

At least George Lucas isn't directing it.

The thing about Hook is that it's nostalgic. Many of us loved the movie as kids.

Those are some sweet Icons. I am getting really pumped for this. May isn't that far away now :D
