INFAMOUS: Second Son

im having a hard time understanding why some one would want to cap the fps. how is a higher frame rate 'distressing'?

This game is GLORIOUS!! Absolutely loving it!

of course the 4th power is ****ing concrete
how disappointing
i guess i should have seen that coming

yeah that really shouldnt have been a surprise since they were building up that moment from the very first hour of the game. I mean thats the entire basis for the plot of the game. [blackout]Delsin needs the concrete powers to save Betty and the tribe[/blackout]

Haha yeah, that shouldn't have been a surprise. What's surprising is how much of an afterthought it felt like. You can only recharge from enemies and it has no super move.

I have to assume the Paper Trail stuff is leading to
getting Paper power
so hopefully that will be more interesting.

The finale power is pretty bad ass tho.. Once you take down enemies with it the other powers feel kind of weak...

I've been addicted to this game since I got it a few days ago. I haven't gotten the [blackout]concrete[/blackout] power yet, but of the 3 I've gotten so far, my favorite is easily the neon. Especially once you upgrade it to the point of being able to travel at constant "light" speed.

Same here. Smoke is ok, video is great, but neon is on another level really.

Neon is the most practical and balanced. [BLACKOUT]Concrete[/BLACKOUT] is all about strength but really lacking in the abiltities and [BLACKOUT]video[/BLACKOUT] is all about speed with little offensive abilities. Smoke and Neon are both balanced with Smoke leaning more towards power and Neon more towards speed, but I found Neon to be more practical. Its a lot easier to get away from the enemies, especially when getting ganged up on which happens a lot and being able to slow down time to take people out is very useful. On the flipside, its easier to take on enemies with smoke as the R2 hold move and the smoke bomb are very useful for hitting and taking out multiple targets. Guess it depends on your playstyle, but its obvious the developers put the most effort into those two with the final 2 powers feeling like afterthoughts

I just got the Platinum for this, not really something to brag about because it is really easy to get, but it's always nice to see that 100%. :yay:

I definitely prefer the Good story and missions, they felt more varied. I really liked that one with the storage containers being taken away by helicopters, zipping around and landing on them was a lot of fun, which is only on the good side. These games have always had trouble making the Evil story believable, and I think they pulled it off better here than they have before.

That said, I kind of hope they use the Evil ending as cannon:
Murderous, power hungry Delsin and his army of conduits. Kills his tribe and then starts his rampage. He'd be a great villain.

Yeah, that wouldn't be bad..

In all honestly Delsin doesn't seem like a guy that would go nuts with power.. UNTIL the loss of his brother. I could easily see that as his "dark side" moment, something that could push him over the edge. It could also be a way to bring Cole back.. who went into hiding maybe to secretly find conduits and train them himself.. to use their powers to benefit mankind. He would be a Professor X to Augustine's Magneto.

At the same time tho, I was like what a great way to bring co-op (two player co-op) into the next inFAMOUS. Have Cole be able to track down Delsin, bring him in and train him maybe, a two man crew that set out to make the world a better place for Conduit's.

I mean at the end of the day I fully believe Cole won't stay dead. I don't care what any of them say. It's a comic book after all..

I really hope Cole does stay dead. He wasn't that great of a character.

I was on the verge of getting this game but I read how the actual story isn't so great, and the antagonist herself is a conduit and I really don't like that.

Oh well, I still hope the game sells millions of copies.

Wait you're not getting it because of the story (which is fine.. The complaints about it being bad are far off, IMHO) and.. Because the antagonist is a conduit.

You know.. the antagonist's in past inFAMOUS games were conduits as well, right? Hell, in the first game the antagonist was COLE! Augustine is a fantastic villain.

^agreed

Suit yourself, this game is awesome sauce

yeah I know! but I don't like the idea of an armed force human armed forces led by a conduit.

if it was a regular evil conduit with other conduits working for her then it'd be okay.

i really wanted a **** the police feeling with this game, and I wanted to feel like i actually could **** the police since i had superpowers and they didn't but the purpose feels defeated since they are led by another individual with superpowers.

according to metacritic though, it's not as much awesome sauce as titanfall :o

Finished this the other day. While the story ended up being pretty basic and the [blackout]concrete power[/blackout] was fairly disappointing, imo, the gameplay was super fun throughout and the visuals were never anything less than fantastic. I took the "Hero" path this time around, so I'm looking forward to doing the "Evil" path just so I can play with some new tricks. :D

The humans are we're turned into conduits.

That's because in this day and age MP is King. I've already grown tired of TF.. Competitive gaming just bores me to tears anymore.

Agreed. The reason why I converted ps4 was because I was so tired of FPS and MP competitive games. I've always liked single player character driven games, and that is something sony had always done well. I got tired of missing out on game like infamous and the god of war franchise.

Good to hear this game sold over a million copies in the first nine days.

The story was simple, but great, and the character interactions made the game for me. It was well written, it didn't try to be more than it was. And most of all, it was so fun to play!
