Whether it takes place in only Madripoor or multiple locations, free roaming could definitely work even if the only vehicle you can drive is Logan's motorcycle, kind of like Days Gone.

Well this was totally out of left field, and that's why it makes me excited. I wonder if Insomniac were allowed to pick the superhero again like they did with Spider-man. That would explain it I guess.

In any case I am happy. I've had my fill of Iron-Man, Black Panther and the other MCU big hitters. At this point Wolverine is kind of refreshing

Which is a bafflingly true statement considering how Wolverine has been overshadowed by most of the heroes made popular by the MCU over the last decade. In terms of Marvel character popularity, Wolverine was second only to Spider-Man throughout the '90s and '00s. Sure, Days of Future Past and Logan were great but they didn't leave as big of an impact on pop culture as Black Panther or Infinity War/Endgame. And especially after how the Fox movies ended up fizzling out, it's nice to actually get excited about a new X-Men related project right now.

Yeah, the more I think about it, free roaming is the best way to go as opposed to level-based gameplay. Only because free-roam gameplay is so rarely seen in superhero games.

While I'm unsure that free roaming will happen, I honestly feel like it will. Having a motorcycle for Logan to traverse around in will make it a nice contrast to the Spider-Man experience.

Really looking forward to this. Wolverine has lost some of his luster these past few years, but it's clear the people at insomniac grew up in the 80s/90s. Look forward to the inevitable Punisher and Ghost Rider games lol.

Hope we get him in full costume. Don't wanna see any nonsense about Wolverine running around in only his civvies. It would be cool to see a selection of costumes similar to how they handle them in the Spider-man games and give you a whole range from the comics, cartoons and movies.

It's insomniac so I definitely trust they're going to fan service the heck out if this. Just gimme the brown suit and I'm happy.

Given how extensive the costumes were for Spiderman I can see most of these making it into the game

That announcement teaser was amazing! Excellent song choice! I could've easily seen that serving as a teaser to officially announce/introduce the Mutants entrance into the MCU, it was that well done.

Flannel and cowboy hat really isn't anything new for wolverine

I am skeptical about this game, for a couple reasons. One is that "melee hero who heals fast" is extremely common as video games go, it doesn't stand out from the pack at the concept level like the recent Batman and Spider-man games do. Another is that Wolverine lacks movement powers, and IMO impossible mobility is core to the superhero fantasy in video games.

Could it be good? Sure, Insomniac is not some fly by night operation. They just will need to work even harder than normal to make the "Wolverine Simulator" concept work, and sell the game on its story and setting more than the basic gameplay loop. Hopefully they also lean much more heavily towards "highly skilled unaging claw-samurai" rather than "invincible ginzu man", since the former is both rarer and more interesting as a video game. Nobody is going to complain if you steal a little from the Arkham games and require Logan to use stealth as well as stabbing.

In X3, he used his claws like a harness to go down.

Personally hope this isn't open world, I think Logan lends himself better to a more linear experience.

I dunno, give him a big wilderness with pockets of civilization to explore, I think you can have a fun open world experience with Wolverine.

i think it going to have hub worlds like god of war or ratchet and clank. which i think w=could work well for his power. if they go open world then it has to be some like days gone or a farcry map. if you think of his powers like his sense of smell there will be tracking mission

Motorbike free roam sounds amazing!

I imagine Wolverine is going to be massive again when the MCU launches their version.
