The Dark Knight Intensity of Fight sequences in TDK!

Has anyone thought about this at all!???.... I think it's a relative enough thread to create and talk about. In the new third tv-spot (which kicks ASS!) batman is seen in a glimps about to hit someone, but really, nothing has been seen of Batman kicking ass in the new movie yet! Why do you think this is?

I for one would really like to see just SOME of what the fighting will be like in this new movie already! Will it be the same as last - which I thought was cool by the way, only I wish they would pan out the DAMN CAMERA! Am I the only one who wants that??? What are your expectations this time around, regarding this matter!?

That should armour reminds me of the shoulder pads in blouses that were popular in the '80s

I thought some of the early Batman fight scenes were a bit weak, he'd wrap them him his cape and that's it. Or he'd give them a love tap and they'd fall down. It was much better at the end with the Ninjas

Yes but we don't see his face actually smash, we see the photo of the aftermath. I love his look as if to say you bully you hit me. It's a bit like Moore's Joker a little light on with the fisty cuffs.

I think they should definitely be showcasing more fighting sequences considering the way the fights were filmed in the previous film was generally considered to be a weak point.

It's hard to tell from this new shot if its been fixed up.

Also I'm more of a hand-to-hand combat kinda guy than a car chase lover...

correct.

nolan doesn't seem like a great action star, so it's more about drama.

don't expect to be watching some great 'fight scenes' in anything nolan does.

the so called action in batman begins is enough to verify this

Well I think they're saving the fighting for the movie itself but yes i know what you mean. I hope that they pull the camera back and slow down the quick frenetic editing and let the fights scenes breath. If the glimpse we saw in the new tv spot is any indication of what the fights will be like then we will have our wish come true. However iam not gonna hold my breath until some reviews start flying in and someone describes the fight scenes.

btw is that the new suit or the old suit in the scene where bats slaps the swat guy?

I agree with what was said regarding the lack of Batman on the trailers and the fights. Although, the fights are only important in the context of the movie. Not really trailer material since its not a martial arts movie. But yeah it should be showcased, since Batman is one the most shrewed and cunning fighters in the DC universe.

I’m really hoping that they have the balls to somewhat maintain the gritty and “confusing” feel of the fight scenes from the first movie.

If the fight scenes are too elaborate and "mainstream", I'm going to be seriously dissappointed.

I also hope they don't change much. I like the way he fought in the first movie. It was realistic. When you fight against several people up-close, especially ones that are armed, you don't take your time to perform a beautiful roundhouse kick or other fancy Kung Fu moves. Like Ra's Al Guhl said, it's not a dance.

Don't have to be "mainstream", just gotta pull the camera back and not cut to different angles so much... which is a pretty mainstream technique for directors who cant shoot action... BB fights weren't all that "gritty".

I was gonna say the same thingn about not seeing him fight, but the third trailer has just proved me wrong. The action looks like in this one, that Nolan moved the camera back a few steps so we can see it, which will make the majorit including me, alot happier.

I liked them too but sometimes they were TOO confusing. They can tone down the closed up part a bit while still making the fights rough and real, and not a dance. However, I do want the fight between Joker and Batman to be shown in a traditional manner, because I want to see how it plays out.

I love the way the fight scene were filmed in Begins "confusing and gritty" as someone called it. I hope this continues in TDK.

And I didn't mind if you couldn't see everything andthat it wasn't a chreographed dance numbers like the Batman movies of the last series. One of the weaker points in the previous movis.

Wasn't part of the reason why the fight scenes were filmed the way they were in Begins was because of the bat suit. The movement looked terrible, because Bale had no flexibility with it, so they tried to hide it with close up and confusing camera work. I thought I read that somewhere. If that was the case, I would imagine the fight scenes being better since he has a more flexible suit.
