Comics Interesting comment from Mid-Ohio-Con

Meh. At this point, I half-believe that JoeQ is purposefully hyping the possible death of MJ and releasing these "snippets" just to get fanboys to talk about these stories and keep interest in Spider-Man from waning.

Who would you WANT it to be?

I think it's more or less to get people fired up and talking about it. Guess what? It worked, didn't it? I guess not too many people here read the Quesada "Man of the Year" article from Wizard where he stated that he loves when people talk about him on the Internet, good or bad. The guy had some good points in his article, and despite many fans around these boards and others hating his guts, the guy has REALLY done a lot of good things for the comic book industry.

And I'd want it to be MJ anyway because I want to see her die a brutal death, but it probably won't be her because that's too easy of a red herring. I suspect it'll be Aunt May or a long time character in the Spider-Man mythos.

Wouldn't it be sweet if people were talking about how much he rocks instead of sucks? Too bad he doesn't care one way or the other.

I think it's either going to be Debra Withman, Flash Thompson or Robbie Robertson

Thre words... well technically two words and one letter: J. Jonah Jameson...
We all know that deep down Peter cares about JJJ... even if JJJ is the biggest jerk in the 616...

I could see this happening.

Jonah could have a coronary from all the stress caused by Peter outting himself publicly....seeing as how that turned Jonah into a laughing stock on TOP of making it look like Jonah had been duping everyone in New York into buying his papers for pics of Spidey...when, for all the public knows, they were taken with Jonah's encouragement....as a gimmick to sell newspapers.

This could make for an interesting storyline....although I think Jonah is a very vital part of the Spidey mythos, and killing him would be just as detrimental to the books as killing off Aunt May or Mary Jane.

Personally, I'm hoping that, tying into the storyline from SSM, a person posing as Spider-Man is horribly injured, and Peter feels responsoble for it, seeing as how these imposters are partially doing it to help him get his life back....or something.

We'll see. Of course, I'm still happy the Black Costuem is coming back...I just hope good stories come back with it.

I'm also glad the black costume is coming back, but I hope they don't f*** up the look. Didn't byrne use the costume before? He f***ed it up. I swear, i like art from the 80's better than the art from these day.

Yeah....Byrne drew it and totally screwed it up...but that was because it was John Byrne. His work hasn't been worth a damn in years.

Personally, I just want to see some real great artists draw the black suit. J. Scott Campbell, Bryan Hitch, John Cassady, Micheal Lark, Alex Maleev, etc. I'd love for us to get a real bigshot artist on ASM. ASM used to have McFarlane, Larsen, Bagley...and now we have....Ron Garney? Sorry, but I haven't liked his work since he was on Captain America back in the day. At least SSm and FNSM have good artists.

Yes, FNSM DOES have a great artist.... That is all I will say.

Wouldn't it be wild if one of his family members got injured in a coma and/or brain damage OR memory loss? Say MJ wakes up from a brief nap and doesn't recognize Peter or remember anything. That would be f***** up.

yeah, I will never read the book again. Not even playing.

Same here. It sounds like the type of crap that they would pull as an attempt to end the marriage or something...which would be made even more lame by the fact that Flash just awakened from a coma without the past few years of his memory intact.

Why didn't I think of this before?! MJ goes into a coma, she gets out and has no memory of Peter. That's the reason for the black, his mood. They'll be some drama for a while. Now, we all know venom is coming back, more likely brock (i hate him) He attacks Mj or something, She remembers and all that crap. All this can go through till the end of 2007. it's perfect.

Dude, I've been DYING to find a reason to come back. I left after the Iron Spider suit debuted, and have yet to find a reason.

At least I have Spider-Girl!

See, I'm exactly in the same situation. Doc, I like you  !!! (just not, you know, "like" like...;))

Spider-Girl is the only book that doesn't make me cringe whenever I read it. I like SSM, but every tiem I read it, I cringe as soon as I see Peter hasn't awakened from this nightmare where he unmasked in front of the whole freakin' world.

And he doesn't care, it's one thing that I can respect about the guy. He has made a some pretty dumb moves with characters during his tenure but the guy takes criticism with a grain of salt and does his thing. Someone like you, well...it pisses you off that he doesn't seem to care what people think of him. Someone like you would probably want him to bow down to you and kiss your ass and give you EXACTLY what you want.

But it's not about you. It's about everybody and keeping comics interesting and there. Marvel hasn't wavered or fallen or even come close to it since Quesada has been running things.

Whether you like his decisions or not the guy has kept Marvel number 1 and that's all that's really asked of him in the long run. And whether you agree with the premise of Civil War, the events that spawned out of it, it sparked interest in fans who didn't have interest anymore.

And remember, unmasking Spider-Man wasn't Quesada's decision. It was Tom Brevoort's decision.
