Iron Fist casting call and movie thread

I always saw Iron Fist as introduced in a Luke Cage sequel and given a sPin-off.

I won't sugarcoat it, I like Ray Park, but the dude is not a very versatile actor. He just ain't. I want to see Gosling take this on. I hope this leads in to a Luke Cage flick as well, because if he doesn't see the light of day, it's gonna jump off

Can’t say I’m excited by this. There’s a reason why Marvel has gone bust in the past – as soon as you get outside their mainstream characters, nobody really gives a damn. A few niche comic fans aren’t enough to open a movie – just look at Scott Pilgrim and Jonah Hex. Disney is soon going to realize that buying Marvel was a great deal: for Marvel.

Ryan Phillipe - who is a Tae Kwon Do Black Belt
Cam Gigandet - black belt in the Israeli martial art of Krav Maga

This is great news, i'm glad things are moving along for the movie. There are lot of good choices for Danny Rand, my list is:

And i'd like to throw in another choice, Garrett Hedlund:

Coming up from the TRON: Legacy hype, he's a young talented actor and I think he'd be good for the role of Danny Rand.

Ok i'll ask a mod.

For Iron Fist stories, pick up Essential Iron Fist: Vol. 1 and then The Immortal Iron Fist Omnibus, which collects Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction's brilliant run from #1-16.

Hope they get rolling on the Luke Cage movie while they're at it, then they can do the inevitable H4H team-up movie.

Danny Rand on the other hand can be played by plenty of 20-30 something Caucasian whether they're true blond or not. True actors like Hunnam, Gigandet, Hedlund, Gosling, Phillipe are all good candidates.

Now Luke Cage is a harder role to cast than Danny Rand. There are not many large muscley & good actors to fill the role of Cage, the same difficulty when they're trying to find Thor or Kingpin.

Hedlund passed on Cap to focus on Tron. I doubt he'll do Iron Fist.

^ probably he doesn't like trapped in a full body suit that looks like a flag. In this weak economy, he might consider it after Tron - much more so if Tron bombed and the chance for a sequel goes to near 0.
