Well it makes him look like he should be a character in Avatar.

I don't know why that would be impractical anyway. If you're saying he looks out of place, well, Iron Fist does look out of place. He's a dude fighting in slippers. It's part of his charm. If you laugh at him, he'll punch you out.

I don't see the need to make his outfit all kung-fu karate outfit. It's more then likely going to be more like dd first suit. With dragon logo on chest of shirt. His mask and gold bold and arm bands.

I think he's going to need something sleeker and less bulky if he's fighting crime in New York.

I have no objection to making it less bulky. The trend is to add layers (look to Daredevil as an example). I'm in favor of being slick. I want it to look like either a Kung Fu outfit or a Japanese Gi (which is very simple) with the Iron Fist colors and mask.

I still say I wouldn't be surprise if his costume did simular to dd first one. Just green with gold boots and arm bands. His mask and thr logo on chest of shirt. You don't need to go all super sofisticated.

Rand costumes in the comics have been fairly simple looks and designs over the yrs. No need to over complicate things.

I wouldn't be surprised, but that's one of the things I'm specifically arguing against. It should show the Asian influence he draws from. I would argue the simpler comics over the years have been afraid to show that. Not that anything we've seen (except that baggie pants, pouch thing) has been complicated. Wushuboy drawing is relatively straight-forward and I would argue less complicated than Daredevil's current costume.

the costume should have the old mask of DD except in yellow with the eyes and the rest should be lightweight, like the ninja that fights DD.

I fail to see how the ninja's costume that DD fights is any more lightweight than my design hahah. If anything my design takes some cues from the new doctor strange costumes in addition to what some dub as "avatar" designs which is heavily influenced by historical Chinese military armor. He would have the tight robes wrapped around his body (ala doctor strange although not as many layers) but sleeker gauntlets and shinguards/boots for mobility. I want to see Iron Fists costume actually reflect asian culture than something that's simply a rashguard with baggy pants and a western dragon tattoo.

Wearing all those layers is definitely not lightweight.

I wonder if they will even bother to incorporate the green and yellow. I imagine they will be difficult colours to adapt into a costume that's supposed to exist in the same world as Daredevil and Jessica Jones. I really hope they manage to make the half mask bandana work for him.

I think he'll have a similar compression shirt and mask, but I picture his pants a shoes being a lot more simple and lightweight than campared to DD's cargo pants and military boots. I also suspect he won't have any glove and his sleeves will end just past the elbow. It would be better to emphasize his super powers if his hands were exposed.

For the mask I'd like to see something similar to deadpool with the sculpted eye pieces in a textured fabric mask.
I also think this would work well enough to separate it from the first DD mask.

I'm curious about their approach to the mask as well... Will he even have one? I just can't seem to imagine his traditional comic-book mask being translated well in live action - I'm not saying it can't be done, but I just can't see it.

I think the biggest obstacle is making it unique so that it doesn't make the show look like a Daredevil ripoff as oppose to it's own property.

With him using "magic" and not being a character who only skulks around in the darkness i don't think it'll be too much like DD.

Id like it if he came back to the US and almost exclusively wearing his K'un Lun shaolin/wudan monk type of outfits before he eventually sheds it in favor of contemporary western clothing in order to integrate better. So his "Iron Fist" garb so to speak in the beginning Id expect to be more along the lines of a traditional gi type or variation of shaolin style suit all along in his IF colors and once he's finally more westernized he gets more modernized like maybe incorporating a compression top to his traditional bottom/yellow sash and so forth.

I'm very fond of this look myself. Perhaps make the vest a dark green.

No chest guard. Restricts mobility. Nothing armor like.

Other than that, I think I'll be pretty happy as long as he keeps the traditional gold mask. I am curious if they will show his eyes through it or give him white "lens."

I doubt they'd do white lenses, but I yes, definitely ditch that vest but keep the forearm and shin pieces and just turn them yellow/gold.
