Iron Man 2 Iron Man 2 Fan Art & Manips Thread

I went back and tackled one of the pictures that made me reputable as a bad manipper again, just to see how much I've improved.

:D

To be honest its not difficult to simply alter each individual color via various adjustment configurations.. it looks like a 5 min job to be honest.. :O

Why does the ground & backround have a red tint to it?

Actually, most of my manips are still quick jobs. I just use new methods.

For some reason, when I take a long time on them, for some reason they turn out not to look what I think it should be. Like for a Black Mask poster I did for the Batman thread. I took a picture of a skull, darkened it, slapped the logo on there and wrote "Gotham Dawn" on it. And it turned out pretty good. I worked on a Riddler one, and it turned out kinda bad (IMO).

Why does the ground & backround have a red tint to it?

Thats because I used color rotation to shift it to red. For some reason, color rotation ignores black and gray, so the suit didnt change.

SpiderByte,

Firstly, I want to be absolutely clear I am NOT insulting you, belittling, or flaming or trolling. Truth is, I haven't posted a manip as I am really terrible at photoshop, or any kind of image editing/creating skill! So you don't have to take this on board, or even acknowledge it at all, and won't be offended if you decide not to. It would be like a professional astronaught taking space advice from a car salesman! So I completely understand if you don't take it on board.

What I wanted to say (long time lurker here!) is you have definately improved. I can see that as a non-manipper, and it's really good to see.

The only 'advice' I'd give, or thing I'd point out, is I think you could do with trying to really piece somethings together, start really creating your own. From what I've seen you're taking stills and ammending colours, and/or flipping them (which you're doing very well by the way). Maybe it's time to take the next step on them now and add to them, make them your own.

Example. Your War Machine manips are just Iron Man with colour or orientation changes. But, we've now seen War Machine in the trailer, and we know he's a little bigger, got the shoulder type parts on there too, guns, guns, and more guns. Maybe try adding those in? Even if it's bit by bit, gun by gun.

Just really start to make your own work stand out a little more.

Please don't take this the wrong way, or think I'm attacking you or anything like that!

I'm just trying to offer a little advice or pointer for future ref.

See what you can do if you put your mind to it, you might surprise yourself!

Good luck!

:stark:

That's got to be the most polite and apologetic criticism I've ever read. But no need to sugar-coat it, you're stuff sucks SpiderByte!

J/k ;) I dig your work.

Okay.

Oh, and btw. I used 2 pics for the Avengers War Machine.

I say stop doing 'quick' jobs, and put a lot of hard work into one solid image. take time and care into it. Not everything needs to be posted, multiple posts seems to try and get attention

You've definitely improved Spyder. But yea, you don't need to post EVERY quick job you've done.

...

I dont'?

Mainly because I post the FINISHED version and not every step I do?

Did I post every step of the Fury manip? No.

Hey SpiderByte, PLEASE, you don't need to keep filling these boards with your attempted manips. I use that word because I think you can do better than what you are showing us (evident in your Nick Fury manip above). All this hurried posting of sub standard work makes you look like a little kid who does a doodle with his crayons and bugs his parents until they tell him how good he is.

Try branching out dude. As Cyclone said, experiment a little. Add other things, characters, backgrounds, text elements, title, etc. The more you try, the better you will become.

Who am I to talk? Well I have had a crack at this myself over the years... http://xflow.pwhitrow.com/galleries/posters/

What, do you assume I think its sub-standard?

And what do you mean, "As evidenced by my Nick Fury manip"? Everyone has complimented me on it, so how is it evidence that I'm not good at manipping?

Whether YOU think it's sub standard or not is irrelevant, you are asking US to judge, and WE think it is.

Try reading my post again, I think you will find this sentence: I think you can do better than what you are showing us (evident in your Nick Fury manip above): was praising you not denigrating you!

By the way, how old are you SpiderByte?

Why does it matter how old I am?

If its about the way I responded, it just came across as negative at first, sorry.

I dont even know what to say but I burst out laughing "oh okay" and then he just goes and posts another quick manip.

Come on whens the JMC qualities going to come Spyderbyte! you better believe he doesnt' do his quick. And I know you are fully capable, as you have 100 of ideas..just you put all 100 ideas into 100 manips..when it should be about 100 ideas into 1 manip to make it more epic.
